We can't do anymore Emma Harte. It's now just a poor relation of this origin.

Final book of the Emma Harte series. I recommend the whole series.

I’ve been trying to read different types of books and this fit that. I’m not sure what genre this is, but I think I’d call it several seasons of a soap opera packed into one fairly long book. If I think of it in that way it really was a pretty good book. It isn’t life changing or deep, but it does have several sub-plots that wrap around the main plot and is more believable than many soap operas I’ve seen.

Listened to the audio version. Love this series but it is getting tedious. Kissing cousins just bothered me. Too much inbreeding and too boring. The ending was weird and abrupt. Emma Harte be spinning in her grave with this one!

I did not realize this was the 6th book in a series until I had already started reading. It was a good book but so full of characters that at times it was hard to remember who was who. Had I started with the first book and read them in order it would have helped. Story drew me in from the beginning and I kept wanting to read more and see what happens. The book is about the Harte family and their empire. Emma Harte started the empire and and the family business was very successful. As the family grew not all got along and there is one member of the family looking for vengeance. Linnet who was the great granddaughter of Emma helps her mother, Paula. Linnet is at the London store and other family members are at the other two stores. When something happens, Linnet take over and begins to make changes to make the store more updated. There is love, family, greed, jealousy , mystery , sadness and joy in this book. I plan to go back and read the other books in the series.

Second last book in the Emma Harte series and we’re into the year 2000 now so getting more modern. The story continues with the dastardly cousin, Jonathan Ainsley, trying to wreak his revenge on the family and ends on a cliffhanger. One more book to go so will be intrigued to see how everything ends.

I'm really glad I got this book from the library. Like, do all of the cousins need to hook up/marry each other? Not my cup of tea & I have a pretty broad pallet.

As I said above I have enjoyed this series from book one – A Woman of Substance. Emma Harte has become an idol of mine and I wish I could only be as strong of a woman as she was. Not only was she a strong woman she was a good mother who passed on a good values and work ethic to her children. She had two great friends in her life that eventually became family thru marriage of the three “clans” children. This only made each family have a stronger connection and bond with each other. To be a part of their family would have been an honor.
In this book there were a lot of trials for the three clans (Hartes, Oneills, and Kallinskis). Each of these trials and tragedies brought the family closer except for one the infamous Jonathan Ainsley. He is still out to ruin the family. In this book we are introduced to a new family the Hughes. We find out about a deep secret that Robin kept hidden for many years. This secret will bring out good and bad. One of the best things this secret brought out was Evan. She was one of my favorite characters and I enjoyed learning about her and her talents. She fits right in with the Harte clan. One of the bad things brought out was Anghared, Evan’s adopted sister. She is a female version of Jonathan. I think we will hear more about her in the next book in the series and she is going to be trouble with a capital T.
There were many ups and downs. We had many marriages and a few babies and some good changes in the family. But we also saw the death of some loved ones and some tragedies with some of the family. These only pulled the family closer together. There is a little cliff hanger at the end of the book that makes you want to pick up the next one right away to see what is going to happen.
I am looking forward to reading the last book in the near future (I have a few others I need to get to first, lol) but I will also be saddened as that is the last book in the series and I will miss reading about the family I have come to love. If you have not read any of this series, I would suggest running out and getting A Woman of Substance as it was a can’t put down book and each book in the series just added to the story this one included. I wish Harte’s store was a real store that you could travel to England to see as it sounds wonderful. I give this book 4 stars.

Bit disappointed with this one, that was meant to be the last and wrap it all up for us. Thought that the Hartes came across very obnoxious in this book, lets just change the wedding, and the poor bride's family not told and couldnt attend, wouldn't giving away your only daughter be so important to a father?, then again when the adopted daughter got blacklisted the Hartes wanted Evan's family to ignore her also.
Not sure why that adopted sister was brought in, she did nothing. The evil relative did nothing either.
The writer goes to big lengths to describe a photo on the wall, but funerals, illnesses, births, deaths and weddings are glossed over.
This book it just seemed as if the writer had no interest in it and giving readers the closure they needed on this story and took the easy way out.
Have already bought Breaking the rules - I will read it as I hate to waste money, but just not sure if it will be any good.
What a shame could've been a good book and really finalised all the storylines.

I was only 16 years old, maybe younger, when I read A Woman of Substance. I never pursued the series but read it as and when I found one of the books in the series.

Now nearly 10 years later, I have finally finished reading the conclusion of this amazing saga. Suffice it to say that I had tears in my eyes as I read Paula telling her daughter, Linnet to "Hold Emma's dream, my dream."

This series has been one of the most beautiful stories I've ever read.. Spanning generations and of a family overcoming some difficult odds.

A Woman of Substance is undoubtedly my favourite book of all time and I'm sad to finish reading the conclusion. But also happy to know how it all falls into place, years after Emma.

My four-year-old picked this out for me at the library. She did a good job with the last book she picked for me; unfortunately, this one wasn't good. I got over a hundred pages into it, but finally decided that it wasn't worth finishing. It was a massive soap opera, with lots of characters, all intertwined. I couldn't keep some of the characters straight, and the story just wasn't moving along fast enough to keep me interested (just like a soap opera--you can turn it on years later and still be in the same story).

Wow, this series just got worse and worse for me. Too much description...clothes, furniture, people, houses. Terrible dialogue. Who talks like this? I appreciate the diversity in readers' taste (those of you who loved this series) but these last few books have terrible writing, predictable outcomes and enticing storylines that are let downs.

I enjoyed each of the books in this saga. Although, the books contained so much about the attire of it’s characters, the storyline of each book is hard to move away from. After finishing one book, I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for me in the next! My favorite book in the series will always be “A Woman of Substance.”

Listened to the audio version and found it very interesting. There were a lot of people involved in the story, and three families so I had trouble sorting them all out. Very good story line.

Just Rewards , the conclusion, of the Harte series.
I thoroughly adored and loved the first book of the series, ' A Woman of Substance ', found it in a second hand store , and l have been hooked ever since, l have enjoyed all the books in the whole series of the magnificent Harte family .
Love the detailing and period details, and how each character is developed.

But unfortunately l felt this book seemed rushed and in some ways very repeative.
But l am so glad l did read read it , it wasn't a disappointment. The dramas and romance still stood out .
So wonderful the younger generation of the Harte family taking the spotlight,in this book.

Tessa Fairley , is ready to start a new life after a bitter divorce, which might include rivalling her sister Linnet for the top spot in the Harte business .

This overly descriptive book once again lets you fall into the lives of the rich and famous Harte's. This book is mainly about Linnet and her fight to bring the stores back to the front of all the other department stores in the world. She has to fight her mother to do it. She's alone at the helm for most of the book.

India is planning her wedding to Dusty when she finds out he has an ex and a child. The young girl is thrust upon the couple without any forewarning. But India is still planning the wedding in Ireland.

Evan is married and moving into a new home when her sister Angharad becomes a family problem. Her mom has moved over to take care of her but her sister is causing all sorts of trouble with Jonathon Harte.

The four generations of Harte must stand together and fight to save Harte's empire.

Tessa finds a new man and is happy with him.

This title is supposed to be the finale of this series, but really is it? The last page makes me wonder!
The focus is on the younger generation - the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the great Emma Harte. She was a woman of small beginnings who then built a great business empire. But it is the heir apparent who is determined to take this into the 21st Century! But there is someone who has felt slighted for a very long time Jonathan Ainsley, a so-called black sheep of the family. The Harte House holds a lot of secrets and one blew into their world - Evan Hughes. And it is Evan's family that makes a mark of events that leads the family to tighten security, keep close to their loved ones, so that everyone can continue to have a life of weddings, births and sadly deaths. And to get their rewards whether blessed or otherwise!

I love the continuing story of Emma Harte and her family. While I have not read all of the books in this saga, Ms. Bradford provides the reader with enough back story and narrative so connection are made and understanding is realized.
In this novel the third generation is detailed through love, divorce, triumph and heartbreak.
A good read and an interesting ending with a twist I didn't see coming.

Another great book in this epic saga. I love how Linett is almost (or perhaps she is) the reincarnation of her great-grandmother Emma Harte. The archetypal baddies are in there along with those sainted members of the clan. All good easy reading escapism. However, this book was let down by too much repetition and sloppy editing, those who died in the avalanche were now killed in a plane crash! Even so, enjoyable.

From a woman of substance to Just rewards. Barbara Taylor Bradford knows how to tell a story. Emma Harte, seduced by the son of her employer and pregnant, sets out to build a fashion empire. Great grandaughter Linnet, heir to the dynasty is waiting in the wings to contine the empire in her own way and the one obstacle is her mother Paula who is not ready to let go. Meanwhile, Jonathan Aimsley, cousin and sworn enemy is still up to his old tricks...

The last of the Emma Harte saga. I was a bit disappointed because of the build up then let down of “the enemy of the family” seeking vengeance but the ending was a cliffhanger with promise. I did enjoy reading about the third generations of Harte. The very first book “A Woman of Substance” was and forever will be my favorite in the series.

This was a poor book. Factually mistakes in several areas, and repeated information again and again. I started the series thoroughly enjoying the plot and the rich information given of the Yorkshire area. But as each book has progressed there has been a downhill trend, and this one was really poor. Will I bother with the last one which I have already purchased!!! Probably not.

I haven’t read this series in many years and I picked right up as though it was just yesterday. I could see the Harte department store in my mind and loved Linnet’s upgrades. I have to get my hands on #7 to wrap it all up. Sometimes you forget how much you love a series until you’ve been away!

I enjoyed this book and kept picking it up to find out more about the happenings since this was about many people and I was thoroughly interested in getting to know the outcomes of each individual's life.
