I know what will happen when people find out my truth.
Because it's happened before.
And it's not pretty.
I just want to get through my senior year and graduate.
But I'm making friends and I feel guilty not being honest with them.
And I'm making enemies who I'm afraid will dig into my past so they can watch me crash and burn.
And that guy? The one whose face I want to punch and then kiss?
He needs the truth.
I'm just not sure I can give it to him.
Because he'll never look at me the same way again.
WARNING: Blinded is the first book in The Del Sol High series. It contains mature themes, sexual content, and profanity. If you're not a fan of those things, this isn't the book for you. But if you like serious stuff mixed with lots of bad words and some sweaty sex, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. It is the first in a three book series.
This is a first time read of this author so I wasn’t source what to expect.
Nola is starting again in a new place but has secrets that will follow her wherever she goes. That is until she meets Archer he frustrates her, annoys her and she wants him. Can she reveal her secrets and not be judged for it?
This ends on a cliffhanger and I don’t really want to say too much, it’s a suspenseful read that leaves you dying for part two! I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book. 4.3🌟
DNFing at 50%. I don’t have much time to read right now and when i do i want to make sure it’s something that i am enjoying! This book was like Saint by Em Snow in a younger way. I thought that reading about the high school senior traditions were fun but this book for the most part was boring. It goes through every minute of everyday in the main characters life and it was not it for me. Also it’s classified as a High School Bully romance but the love interest was super sweet. cocky but sweet. i don’t really want to to continue with the series so I am stopping this now so i can find a book that i’d enjoy!
3.5stars This was a new to me author but I really enjoyed this book. Interesting characters and a good plot made this an entertaining read. Looking forward to the next book in the series

Ok so I LOVED the Sunset Beach High series and this is the spin-off series. So obviously I knew I had to read this one. BUT ! The problem is that the characters are the same so is the hole story. Let me explain : I don't know wtf happened but the author only changed the names. Presley = Nola, both new girl in town. Her 3 new BFF : Bridget = Mercy, Gina = Dylan and Maddie = Brook. Arsher is fucking Trevor. Still, both surfers with their 2 BFF : Brett and Jake = Aiden and Nike. I swear the first chapter was the SAMEEE. There was so many things that were the same, but it would spoil so I'll shut up. The only differents things were the families and the all Hoco thing, which were good but come on, I payed 3 dollars for something I already have. Soooo, since I've loved the SBH series and that this one is the same, obviously a part of me loved it because it's the same vibe. And I would have liked it more if I started with this series first ( but let's be honest, SBH will always be my all time favorite even tought I still don't really understand why I'm so wrapped around the books.) Anywho, I will read the 2nd books since the end wasn't that bad (=different from the SBH one). Peace out.
I love a high school/college romance with drama and mean girl vibes and this book gives that for sure. I’m not sure I would call this a bully romance, maybe taunting as it’s just the mean girl group of 3 really doing anything at all and there is absolutely no bullying of the FMC by the MMC. If anything, he is patient and tolerant of her attitude… most of the time.
I can appreciate the strength of the FMC but one thing that was frustrating was she seemed unnecessarily hostile and aggressive at times. Like she was always ready to pop off; and I get that’s likely related to whatever happened before she moved to Del Sol but like, it was a bit much. I wanted to just grab and shake her and say you can be nice here, it’s okay. Overall I enjoyed reading the book. There’s one spicy scene between the main characters and it was very, very mild. I assume the slow burn is building for the sequels. And let’s not forget the big secret regarding mom. The one scene with mom kind of solidifies what I’m sure most readers suspect regarding where she is, we just don’t have the details yet. Will Archer consider omission of details to be a lie? I guess we will find out.

Nola is on a beach when she first encounters Nick, Aiden and Arch. She is attracted to them physically but is let down by their attitude. Starting her new school her grandmother lets her know that she will be picked up by her friends granddaugher Reese McClure. She doesn't arrive. Just as she is fearing being late for her first day she is taken to school by Miguel who works for Nola's grandparents. Naturally, Reese and her friends see her and make fun of her. Nola stands up for herself and wins the attention and affections of Mercy King. Nola is introduced to Mercy's friends Dylan and Brooke at lunchtime. Meeting Nick, Aiden and Arch Nola doesn't back down. She is invited to Arch's party and he dares her to go with him to the buoy. This was a really well written story and the characters are realistic and so are the bullying situations.! I liked how Nola had her friends with her and how the four of them stuck togethe. Nola is confident, sassy and not afraid to look out for herself. The dialogue is sharp, with some great comebacks! The story finishes on a cliffhanger.
This is a new series set in California by Box. This series features Nola and Archer. Nola is new to town living with her grandparents who she doesn't really know. She had to move with them in time for her senior year after something devastating happened with her mother in Florida.
Nola who was an outcast at her old school is using this time to start fresh, and be anyone she wants to be. What happens is she gets caught up in not getting anyone about her time in Florida due to her family causing her to be an outcast to begin with. She catches the eye of the hottest boy in school, and of course the ire of the most popular girl.
This is bully book that falls on the lighter end of things. It kept my interest all the way through, and it is fun to imagine what life would be like on the west coast. McKayla does a great job with descriptions, and bringing the California beaches to this landlocked Midwestern girl.
Let me start by saying I really enjoyed this series (I read them all in one day)! However, all three books in this series felt like they were rushed. I felt like some scenes were just glossed over and she could have gone into more detail to get the full feeling of the book. The characters were very well developed and I loved them all. I just felt like Ms. Box could have made these books longer and this series would have been great. This book in particular just ended. Archer and Nola kissed and made up. The end! There are also so many secondary characters in this series that need their own books. There should be at least 3 more books to the series. I want to know what happened with all of their friends! I really liked her writing style but I feel like she should have expanded each book to contain more content and this series would be great!
I was not sure at first because the beginning started out the same as the last series I read of hers (Sunset Beach High), which I loved, but it soon evolved into Nola and Archer's own story. Not much bullying from the guys, which is fine since Reese makes up for it. Part of Nola's secret has come out before the cliffhanger, but the big one is still out there with not one hint, arghhhhh. Well, maybe a little hint with that phone call earlier (no more spoilers). Can't wait til the second book comes out to see how the next secret is divulged and how Archer takes it since he's big on not being lied to. Oh Nola.........

First book to read by McKayla Box. I absolutely love this book!! Nola is so fierce. In my opinion she needs to be the character in every single bully romance. She's independent, fierce, ambitious (in a way) and she's strong, so strong. In most bully romances the heriones past really destroys them. Nola let let is mold her, shape her. Sure she lied about a few things, but it didn't destroy her its teaching her. I love the interactions she has with archer and especially reese. Cant wait for the second book.
Disappointing series. I love these trilogy romances where you can get really invested in the characters. I love strong characters that are loyal and face outside challenges. This series was not that. The girl pretended to be strong but was crazy scared to be honest about herself and her family. There were two whole books about a stupid secret. Waste. Asher was sweet but the hot factor was not there and the sex scenes were basic. Overall waste of five hours of my life to read the three books. Skip it.
I enjoyed this high school bully romance and it was pretty interesting, Nola starting at a new school and making new friends and enemies, all while trying her best to hide her own secrets. Enjoyed Nola and Archer's chemistry with each other but I found the writing in the book too repetitive, something similar to that of a normal fanfic found on wattpad. But I can't deny that I was really entertained by this :)
McKayla Box did a great job on Blinded. The story was written well, the plot was strong, it was filled with many emotions. The characters were strong. Nola, she was a fighter. She didn't back down for nothing, she did what she had to. But she went through a lot. Her journey wasn't an easy one. This was a great story. I'm looking forward to reading more. Thanks, McKayla Box. Great work :)
“Oh let me get pissed off at you because you told me to stay away from a guy who almost took advantage of me.” 🙄 I got annoyed every time I read “You can’t tell me what to do.”
I would also like to say that this isn’t much of a bully romance. Archer was nice the entire time.

Blinded was good and I am planning finishing the series. I liked the batter with the characters. My only hang up with this is that it’s basically a re write of her last series, with a few changes here and there. Not that I don’t like the book because I do, it’s just more of the same so I feel like I already know what the other books are going to be like.
I think this book on its own would have been good. However I read this after I read sunset beach high and it’s almost a copy of that series. It’s a shame that the author couldn’t exercise more creativity instead of copying her other series and merely changing the names of the characters and some minor details.
Interesting book. Great characters and storyline. Tons of drama and suspense. Many twists in the plot to keep it exciting. Definitely recommend this book.

What a great start to a brilliant series. I know we were pre-warned about curse words, which I do not have a problem with. However, just a note to this author-could you please just leave Gods name out of these curse words? Thank you!
Nola, went through alot in a new schoo, Her journey is and wasnt easy. This read was full of drama and suspense and twist and turns. I highly recommend.

Loved this story and the characters, especially Nola and Archer. I love them and their interaction. The story is mesmerizing and I couldn't stop reading! The writing pulls you in and makes you part of the story. I can hardly wait to see what happens next!
this was a great start to this series! she is starting a new school with alot of secrets. she already made new friends and enemies. she just wants to get through the year with no problems. you have to read to find out what happens.
This book is some interesting but confusing stuff. Nola should not have to be caught up with being embarrassed or afraid of losing friends for something that is completely out of her control. But I do admire her will.
Awesome story line, Great characters, a lot of drama. However this is just me and my pet peeves but after every sentence or every other saying the words “she said” “I said”” they said” we know who is talking without all the “Says” at the end of every sentence.
Why does this series sound exactly like Sunset Beach High Series? Just a different name to both h/h and a tiny difference in background. The heroine is too mouthy yet meek, hero an ass, like come on. I feel like I just read this.
I actually liked this high school bully story. I liked how Archer was actually really kind and likes her. I like how Nola stands up for herself. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book!
