She’s looked in all the usual places, so she’s off on holiday to Crete, hoping that a change of scenery will help.
Perhaps time among the ancient ruins will help her uncover her inner goddess. She’s got the beach body, she’s dressed to impress but when she uncovers the ‘real’ Lori will she turn out to be less clumsy, foolish and catastrophe-prone than the one she left at home? She’s looking for answers, and with help from a handsome local, a stag party with no stag and the silent judgement of Dame Judi Dench in doll form, it should be a holiday to remember.
But, then I saw that it was supposed to be able the character from Snowflake and was supposed to take place first, and that sort of ruined it for me. The books don't fit together to me.
The Lori Belkin in this book doesn't really match the Lori Belkin in Snowflake and the plots don't line up correctly. Also, I saw mixed dates about whether this was written before Snowflake or not on different sites.
I like this writing pair, particularly the Clovenhoof series, and will try anytime they produce. This short series is a bit of a mixed bag - a mix of chick-lit and weird horror stuff. Not as good as the Satan in Sutton Coldfield but still enjoyable.
