I’ll take her. Keep her. Never let her go. Make her feel every inch of my greed for her. Even if it costs my business and my best friend.
When sweet Valerie walks into my office, I know she’s getting the job.
Plump lips, wide doe eyes, gorgeous auburn hair, she’s the kind of woman I notice.
The kind of woman a man could devoted himself to.
First though, she needs to give herself to me, every inch, without any hesitations or reservations.
Though things are never so simple. When I realize she’s investigating my partner for laundering mob money, I almost throw her out on the street.
Except the way she so willingly gets down on her knees makes me need to keep her.
I’ll help her investigation. I’ll find out if my partner’s working with organized crime.
But only if she lets me take her, every inch of her, whenever I need it.
I’ll possess her. And I’ll help her. And when it’s all finished, I’m keeping her.
Oh yeah, another steamy possessive story! If you like your hero hot and dominant, these Possessive books are for you. They’re a little over the top, so prepare to leave reality behind and just enjoy the wild ride. As always, my books are full length novels with no cliffhangers and a guaranteed HEA. Thanks for reading!! XO BB
If you like possessive, dominant, alpha males this is the book for you!
This is another fairly quick and easy read by B.B. Hamel. You can always expect a decent story and a steamy romance in her books though they tend to be extremely popular romance tropes, like this one sing the office romance with the wealthy boss. I enjoyed this book, but there are just a few things that stop me from giving it a full five star review.
As always with B.B. Hamel books, this is a stand-alone, which I love because I am currently in the middle of about thirty series and that is more than enough. However, since I have been getting ARCs from this author recently, I did read her last book Possessive Doctor and the Doctor in that book was from the Uber wealthy Lofthouse family and took his girl Amber to his family home in Virginia where his crazy family lived.
This story was about Jason Lofthouse who is the younger brother of the Doctor and lives in New York, but is opening a new office of his Financial Management Firm in Philadelphia. He is not one of the crazies out for the family fortune since he has his own fortune. Jason owns the firm with a friend Darin that he has known since boarding school.
While interviewing staff for the new office he meets a beautiful woman named Valerie with all the right qualifications for the job plus a fun extra side where she likes the fact that he flirts with her and is not offended by it or feels like it is sexual harassment. Valerie tells him it won’t be a problem if he acts that way if he hires her, which he had gathered since she was checking him out as well. What he doesn’t know is that she is an agent for the SEC and though she is attracted to him, she needs to get hired to check out his partner who is suspected of laundering mob money through the firm.
The story is good and the romance is extremely steamy. Though I do think a few of the scenes are odd like the hiring scene with the sexual harassment talk. And then there is this odd scene where the first time they go out to dinner Valerie forgets her phone and they go back for it just as some homeless looking guy is stealing it.
So Jason chases down the guy as Val yells at him to stop him, but then Jason catches the guy and gets the phone back and then punches the guy, knocking him out. Val is all impressed. I would think he is nuts. I mean I know phones cost a bundle, but they are replaceable. I just thought it was an odd scene. Maybe if the guy was stealing her purse from her person it would have made more sense, but stealing a phone off a table?
Overall the romance is sizzling hot and the storyline about the Mafia and the partner in the financial management firm is very good as well. Though Valerie doesn’t make a very good federal agent, there is a good reason for it, since she was never supposed to be a field agent to begin with. I really like B.B. Hamel books because they are quick and easy reads and you can count on them to be enjoyable.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Great story with great characters that I really enjoyed. Val & Jacob were really great together and there connection was instant. Can’t wait too read B.B’s next book.
Are you a fan of steamy romance stories featuring hot, dominant and possessive males? If so, then you need to 1-click Possessive Boss by B. B. Hamel. This captivating and sexy read is packed with secrets, intense chemistry, twists and turns, passion, the mafia, suspense, mystery, and a whole lotta heat.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Jacob interviews Val for a position at his company and instantly is attracted to her. He hires her, but unbeknownst to him, she’s a secret agent for the SEC and she’s there to expose Jacob’s partner, Darin for laundering money and other crimes.
This has all the makings of a great thriller romance, but it falls flat. There’s no big climax. The book just wraps up in a nice little bow and everyone lives happily ever after (except for the villains of course).
I didn’t care for Jacob’s entitled, possessive attitude. He constantly slaps Val’s ass and pulls her hair during sex? I mean, what is that?! Val should smack him back sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a fine line between pain and pleasure and some people enjoy it, but every time you have sex? It didn’t do it for me. I would have liked to have seen some sweet romance between them at least once.
Also, I didn’t care for all the “devoted” stuff. It sounded borderline mentally abusive. Prove to me you are devoted by wearing no panties and letting me make you cum in my office. I mean, what is that? Again, it was a little over the top with the possessiveness.
I did like Val’s growth during the book. Her character developed more confidence throughout the book, which would be realistic in those circumstances.
Overall, it’s an okay book. It’s a quick read. So, if you want to read it, feel free. It appears this is a series. I’m not going to purposefully go out and read anything else in this series, but maybe you will. Happy reading y’all!!
ARC review For honest review. Val cotter gets a job at the ficino and lofthouse fund management and is investigating them for the SEC . This is awesome story of the relationship and the investigation .
I was so disappointed with the relationship in this book! Seriously they have like no relationship outside of work and investigating! They fooled around and slept together twice! But no other time to actually get to know each other besides the first two dates before they were physical at all. That’s not a relationship in my mind! They go weeks without spending time outside of work together! Weeks! And it’s only over like maybe three month time table. Maybe. Probably less. I really liked Jacob in the beginning! Until he was so determined his name would protect him from everything. I understood how he wanted to try to save his friend but he’s supposed to be a super genius or whatever how does it not cross his mind that if his friends fucked, the company is fucked and therefore he is too?! Ok Val is a freaking idiot and the worst agent in the history of supposedly excellent agents! Why would you think the mob wouldn’t be pissed about you losing them half a million dollars?! Of course there going to be physically violent! There the mob! Come on! And the way she is appalled that Jacob doesn’t instantly trust her?! You literally just met he’s not going to trust you because your witty and pretty! Especially with a long friendship on the line. And I really don’t understand how she isn’t concerned about STDs and pregnancy or anything when she is having sex with a self proclaimed player. Ya that makes perfect sense. I think she is completely Naïve in everything and it drove me crazy. Why the heck would an agent beg Jacob to pay back the mob to get them off his back when that would only implicate him! Hello it looks bad if you pay off or help the bad guys knowingly! And she is the one that’s supposed to be taking them down! And the fact that she’s surprised someone broke into her apartment was ridiculous. Come on you know now, you’ve been told, it’s dangerous! Don’t act like the stupid girl in horror movies!
Another hot, melt your Kindle possessive romance story from B. B. Hamel you won't be able to put down!! Jacob and his partner and best friend Darrin are opening another investment office in Philadelphia and are in need of number crunchers. Jacob is the numbers need and Darrin is the outgoing charmer that brings the clients in. When Val is brought in for an interview Jacob is thankful he is sitting behind his desk. The flirtatious interview is unethical but Jacob's possessive self rears it's head and he wants her. The instant chemistry is overwhelming, the kisses are hot and his touch is bone melting....and that right there is why Val has to come clean about why she is really there. She works for the SEC and are investigating his partner for money laundering. Jacob and his firm are safe, the SEC only wants proof against Darrin...so they say. Jacob takes control of the investigation and Val, she is only to report what he says is ok. Things start to make sense now, the gangster types wanting "privacy" about their investments. When Val's boss goes after Jacob and his firm the rules of the game changes yet again. What happens when Val purposely loses money for the shady characters and they come after her?? The mask of calmness falls to the way side and all hell breaks lose. Who will come out on top?? Will these number needs have a chance at a real love?? Excellent characters that mesh so well together and draw you into their not so typical love affair. A MUST READ!!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward for the next possessive hotness from B. B. Hamel!!!
Possessive Boss is the second book in B.B. Hamel’s Lofthouse Family series. Readers meet two dynamic characters—Valerie Cotter and Jacob Lofthouse. Jacob is the CEO and founding office of Ficino and Lofthouse Fund Management setting up a satellite office in Philadelphia. Jacob is the numbers man and Darin Ficino is the publicity and client recruiter. Darin is connected to the Ficino Crime Family. Is in the process of interviewing investment agents and is intrigued with Valerie Cotter. Valerie is a cute and adorable, full-figure beauty and data geek. She is the perfect candidate. She awakens strong emotions in him that were long buried. Unbeknownst to Jacob, she has a secret identity as an SEC agent investigating Darin Ficino. What will happen when Jacob learns Valerie’s secret identity? Will there be a romantic journey for Valerie and Jacob? What effect will Darin’s actions and connections to the crime world have on the company or on his relationship with Jacob?
Ms. Hamel’s writing style is quite enjoyable. She is a master at creating complex characters both primary and secondary allowing readers to connect to them. For instances, I quickly knew that I liked Jacob and Valerie. Likewise, I knew I did not like Darin, nor did I like the two criminals Carmine and Dee. I enjoy her use of a dual-prong plot—romance and suspense. Her use of rich dialog, along with descriptive language, allows her plot line to flow smoothly. Nicely done, Ms. Hamel!
Jacob and his partner who is also his best friend, Darin, are opening an investment office in Phildephia. Jacob is the numbers man, and Darin is the charismatic outgoing man who brings in the new clients. Val walks into Jacob's office for an interview to crunch numbers for FLFM. After a very flirtatious interview rears Jacobs possessive side, Jacob knows he will be hiring Val. With explosive chemistry, hot kisses, and bone melting touches, Val decides to tell Jacob the truth; she is working for the SEC who are investigating his partner for money laundering for the mafia. Jacob doesn't want to believe her but odd things start to make sense. Will Jacob and Val prove that Darin is crooked? What happens when Val and Jacob become targets of Darin's shady friends? What happens when Val's bosses decide to go after Jacob and FLMA? Can Jacob find a way to get Darin and his shady business out of FMLA without the SEC coming down on them? Can Jacob and Val find their happily ever after when all is said and done? I loved Possessive Boss by BB Hamel. Possessive Boss is a fantastic story with amazing characters. Possessive Boss is full of dirty talk, smoking hot sex, mafia characters, lies, and a little danger. I would definitely recommend getting Possessive Boss and other books in the Lofthouse series by BB Hamel. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
Gripping, Exciting, Possessive Passion and Danger keeps you glued to the pages...
Jacob and Valerie are Charismatic and Exciting Characters.. They also are a little naughty too which makes this story Sooo Goood!!!
You have the Mafia, a Fed, 2 Uber rich guys and a Hedge fund company that is in the mist of an investigation. Throw in a fiery passion between two of them and Wow, Awesome!!!
Mature readers, some strong language and sexual content.
I have voluntarily read and I'm voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog.
A quick read. The story is basically about trust and loyalty. This story was about Jason and Valerie. Jason is the younger brother. He lives in New York. Jason is , currently opening a new office for his Financial Management Firm in Philadelphia. He is not one of the crazies out for the family fortune since he has his own fortune. Jason owns the firm with a friend Darin that he has known since boarding school. Little does Jason know he becomes Val’s research. A good story, but short. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book and purchased a copy as well
This was bad. I've been reading books from this author for a while now and they're usually pretty enjoyable reads. Descriptive, thorough with great character development. But this was bad. Quite horrible actually. There was no chemistry between the main characters. The focus was too much on the secondary story of the book and not enough on their love story. I couldn't do it. I stopped at 73% and skipped to the last chapter. I only had 30 pages or so to go and I just couldn't read another word. Waste of my time.
Possessive Boss by author BB Hamel. Holy Moly this one is so damn delicious you’ll want thirds!! The storyline is gritty, suspenseful and definitely enthralling. The characters have this chemistry that sets the pages on fire. Oh and you’ll want - need that burn. It’s clever- I love that the characters are not afraid to get dirty!! BB, I absolutely love your work!! Enjoy!!
Very sophisticated white cooler crime and love story.
I was involved in this storline from chapter one. I couldn't put it down and although it was not a thriller it was interesting how the characters planned to resolve their problems. I enjoyed the characters personifies and this book.
Love BB Hamel books.Jacob is very protective of his family, company and Val along with Datin he cant believe is in the mafia. He wants to help save his company, best friend and family name. He does everything in hs power to help. But Jacob and Val have a happy ending and she has the family she didnt know she needed.

I feel like there needed to be more action in the whole series... Not sexual because that is great besides the hair thing, but honestly, I feel like the possessive protective stuff needs to be more serious. Then again, they're rich nepo babies, so I doubt they can actually protect anyone physically... overall it was an OK read.
The book started off great, the middle was good, but the ending was so rushed. It was like they were building up a cliff hanger and then it ended abruptly in about one chapter.
Jacob should have never agreed to what Darin wanted. He should have called him on his suspicions once he realized what Valerie said was true. I'm surprised it took Jacob so long to realize Val was it for him.
Does the SEC make deals? I don’t know but I feel like there was too much speculation and drama. If the coffee shop owners were really mafia no one would truly be safe but then again Jacob is a LOFTHOUSE and they have influence.
Really enjoyed reading. Goes to prove no matter how much you think you know someone you really don't know everything. Sad how many friendships are lost by deceit.Love the ending.
Not a bad book but I thought it was just ok. There was nothing super special about it and while the male lead spoke possessively I honestly felt more lust than love. It was however a quick read with a HEA so I didn’t dislike it but will probably never pick it up again for a reread.
