It is AD 3000. Hiding from the world in a cave in Mount Kailash, Dawn encounters two strange beings on her sixteenth birthday. They urge the long-lost princess of Kashmir to fulfil the prophecy of fighting the Troika. This nefarious trinity-the merciless leader Arman, the AI war machine AIman and their supreme, omniscient overlord Dushita-is a vicious manipulator of stories, minds and histories. With an army of weaponized AIs and mind-controlled automatons based in Kashmir, they rule over a deadly world where men have lost their souls and women have been slain-all heading to Sarvanash, the Great Apocalypse.
With a motley group of five outlaw boys, Dawn sets upon a tumultuous journey across Time and Space to battle the most technologically lethal empire known to humanity. Her only hope is to seek out secrets hidden in the Niti folk tales of Kashmir and unlock the powers within her to become the ultimate warrior.
As the only female left in the world, Dawn will decide the fate of the Universe. But can she unleash her body, mind and spirit and ignite the fiery cosmic power of all the women who have ever lived?
A sci-fi saga that reveals eternal truths as it traverses the terrains of the Kashmir Valley-the birthplace of the greatest stories ever.
Dawn, the warrior princess is the story of Dawn (of course) who fights Dushita (the villain) who in 3000 AD has taken control over everything and rules the world. He is a misogynist and has killed all the women as he viewed them as a threat because of them being capable of birthing a new life, which is not needed now, as he has created a race of forever living "humans" through gene technology and futuristic technologies. He has deleted all the data and what he tells is the only truth and what he shows is the only reality.
Dawn is the only hope for saving humanity, on her sixteenth birthday, she is visited by an uninvited guest, Yuva, an elephant headed cosmonaut, who informs her about the prophecy that she is the warrior princess who will save the world. He takes her back in time where she meets the pandavas and eventually learns the wisdom of neeti stories as she time travels to different decades learning all that she could to defeat Dushita. Will Dawn succeed in her endeavor?
The genre is a mix of sci - fi, mythology and historical fiction. The world building is great and very descriptive which totally immersed me. Story is fast paced and engaging, there are many folk tales that are weaved into this book to give a cohesive story. The book is a page turner and has a lot to offer. The book is well researched too, you can tell it by the way all the information used in it about the places and characters is factually correct, if you draw parallels and compare them to reality for example, Yuva can be compared to Lord Ganesha, Maha to Mahadeva, the Kashmir valley and other places like River Vitasta (which is another name for Jhelum River) and Verinag actually exist. So it was definitely a good read for me!
Book Name - Dawn - The Warrior Princes of Kashmir Author Name - Rakesh Kaul Published by - Penguin India Genre - Mythological sci-fi Ratings - 3/5🌟 Overview - The story starts with Dawn's 16th birthday celebration, where she has an encounter with two strange creatures. They urge her to fight a battle and claim to be the long lost Princess of Kashmir. The malicious trio of dushita, Arman and Alman are on the verge of successfully complete an apocalypse Review - The storytelling skills of the author are bang on and as a reader I must appreciate them. The futuristic backdrop seems highly intriguing and interesting to read. As a reader not so used to read such novels it was difficult to consume the plot and some excerpts but if you'll read it thoroughly it's a delightful read. The book discusses almost everything. From concepts concerning metaphysics to the magic of mystical happenings, it has it all. The characterisation is perfectly done and it has made the book shine There are some points of novel to criticize about but the positive aspects have overshadowed such negative points of the book Still as a reviewer I definitely cannot ignore those at all - 1) At some points, due to many concepts used and included in the storyline, the story became difficult to consume and felt more like a hochpoch than a creatively constructed story 2) The novel successfully evolves in the later halves but in the initial half of the book, the story takes off a little bit slowly and feels slow paced to the reader Will I recommend this to you? This book would be an ideal one for children above 14 years and adults who love to read mythology and fantasy with a science fiction backdrop. But if you're looking out for an intellectual read in literature, kindly don't pick this one up
Rakesh K. Kaul sir has done a very fascinating job by jotting down this amazing plot, that too magnificently.
The story is an combination of many genres including action, mystery, flashback, a quest and lot more.
And then that extra touch of advanced technology that has been mentioned about which the author has a great command on given his IIT background, adds a soothing spark to the plot.
Also the mention of some real identities which doesn't make this book a total fiction but yes, credit goes to the author on how he has imagined this story and the way he has linked all the dots.
Dawn, an teenager of 16 years, comes to know about her father, who is evil. And the bond she has with her mother is worth cherishing one. Her conversations with her mother and all the revelations have been narrated and justified beautifully.
The cover is intriguing and then many lines will make you mesmerized.
I liked the new year song, which she heard while the narration was on:
Big, bada Jalodbhava Come drink my kahwah Happy New Year, yara No place like Kashmira.
Big, bada Jalodbhava Come, show me your paisa Happy New Year, yara No place like Kashmira.
The readers are gonna love this book. And yes initially to get the hold over the plot will be a little challenging but it'll become easier once you read it a little further.
Dawn is a blend of various genres, thus, may have a great appeal among the lovers of various genres. I particularly loved that how the author has given a touch of mythology to the sci-fi. The story is set in 3000 AD and goes to various time zone. Dawn, the protagonist, the only living female is being prepared and later talked on a war against Dushita (the evil) who wants to run the world his own way. How interesting Dawn’s journey is? Does she finally defeats Dushita? The story is all about that.
To begin with I found the story very slow, it was difficult for me to pull on with the story initially, the time travels, the initial build up was too slow and confusing but later I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The Niti- stories and the familiarity of some of the characters like Maha( Mahadeva), Yuva( Ganesha), Pandavas and the places like Kailasha and Varinag makes the story an interesting read.
The characters are relatable in a different way and evolve as the story goes. Dawn and Dushita has been portrayed equally effectively.
Though the covet offers an idea about the genre to a great deal but I still feel that it doesn’t do the justice to the content. The title has a touch of history more than the sci-fi.
Overall the book is an altogether different and interesting read with a strong plot, smooth narration, lucid language and familiarity of characters in a rather unique way.
"Look to this day! For it is life, the very life of life. In its brief course lie all the verities and realities of your existence: The bliss of growth, The glory of action, The splendour of beauty; For yesterday is but a dream And tomorrow only a vision, But today, well lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, And every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day! Such is the salutation of the Dawn!" After a long time I read a unique book like this. This is a collection of Indie stories that had its origin in Kashmir and falls I genre known as Niti stories, basically 'Niti' means 'sensible' The story will lead you to 3000 AD and from past to present also. The way the author make the balance of mythology, science and reality is just awesome. The character of Dawn, the warrior princess of Kashmir is just so strong and it can catch the reader's attention easily. I loved the poems also that used in few chapters. I loved it how the author used proper description and easy yet lucid language in the book. The cover of the book is really beautiful and creative. The title is subjective. Overall, a good one!
Such an astonishing fictional book i read after so long. This book is mainly based on the protagonist named "Dawn" who is only left female of the great apocalypse happened.
But she has a mission of taking revenge from Dushita, Alman and other who has some evil intentions. Her mother will give her everything what she has to made her able to face dushita in future. But..... Does she able to end dushita or Dushita conqueror her. For knowing the answer of all these questions you guys have to dive into this book by yourself.
After reading it all i can say that it was an so well crafted and well narrated book for sure. Because the way how author portrayed everything about the every aspect of protagonist as well as other character is truly magnificent and it makes it even more interesting to read.
Plot of the story is so fascinating and author sets it in 3000AD in future also author put a different type of mythological, fictional and cultural blend in it which makes it totally an amazing read for every type of reader.
Language wise i can say that this book is easy to read but at some lines before and after lines are totally mismatch with each other which surely bother me a couple of times. But storyline of this book is surely gripping and has the potential grab readers attention towards it till the end.
Book cover is beautiful and surely contains the potential to attract readers towards this book and the title is totally apt to the story for sure.
Overall i liked this book and who wanted to read such new concept can surely grab this one.
Dawn is the last girl alive in the world. The world is filled with humans and humanoids who have chips in their body which helps the Dushita to control. She is living in a pod and never seen the outer world. On her sixteenth birthday, Yuva and Kaira reveal the truth and she was astonished.
Yuva says about the prophecy written by Kalidas that Dawn will save the world. The story is taking place in 3000 A.D. This is a mixture of science, mythology, and history. Dawn loves to hear stories from her mother and she came to know that Dushita has made new stories making the world forget the folklore(Niti), the stories passed from generation to generation.
The journey of Dawn as warrior princess to save the universe from the evil beings - Dushita, Arman, and Alman is narrated so well. Overall the book is a good read with an interesting and fascinating story and narration, and at some chapters, you will feel to re-read to get more clarity.
Rakesh has so all around got the enchanted past of Kashmir, he has skilfully weaved the past Niti stories along with extra customarily inventive, advanced science and innovation to the historical backdrop of Kashmir.
Very much portrayed the story is of 3000 AD, Dawn experiences two weird creatures on her 16 th birthday, stowing away from the world in a cavern of mount Kailash.
With a diverse gathering of five bandit young men she sets on a battle of humankind. Just to open her ability to turn into a definitive hero. .
As the solitary female left on the planet, Dawn determines the destiny of the universe. .
This book is an unquestionable requirement perused in the event that you love enchanted and fanciful stories .
This book is mythology blended with science fiction. The unknown side of Kashmir is revealed through this story. The plot revolves around Dawn. The story is set in 3000 AD. She happens to meet two strangers on her 16th birthday, after this the entire story changes. The interesting story of emerging kingdoms of Kashmir is told....
Now Dawn is the only female emperor left. In order to save her land she battles against Dushtia. Who is Dushtia? How does she relate to the kingdom?
The interesting points are... The plot is built up well... the involvement of powerful characters makes it an interesting read. Kashmir is portrayed as land of stories, indeed it is true. The beauty of the place is realistically penned. The protagonist impacts on the readers very much... I liked the writing style of the author. Language is smooth and narration is engaging. Medium paced story with mixed genre.
A must pickup book to those looking for unique plot.
Do you read sci fi books??? Or Mythology??? How about a fusion of both???
Just finished reading this one. The story is setup in 3000AD, where the protagonist, Dawn (a young girl) has to fight the Troika to become an ultimate warrior.
This book is deep, it will take you down to the depth of the sea. So, I would suggest to not to rush read it.
I recommend this book to the readers who prefer reading sci fi or Mythology or who love to experiment and don't mind getting out of their comfort zone.
Kashmir has always been considered as a place of dreams and beauty, right? But what's the culture of Kashmir? What's the deep reality of Kashmir? This is something that isn't known to many people and this book will give you great insights into Kashmir.
The story revolves around, Dawn a 16-year-old strong girl. On her 16th birthday, she met two strangers who ask her to fight the Troika. This fight leads her to make some enemies as well. At such small age, she then takes up a fight against the malicious trio, Dushita, Alman, and Arman. . This trio is the biggest enemy of Kashmir also they are the reason to destroy human peace. . Do you think Dawn can defeat them? Well, this fight for Kashmir is going to entertain at the fullest with some amazing twists. . I like the character of Dawn and the way it is elaborated throughout the story is something to be praised about. . The title of the story couldn't be more perfect as it's Dawn who is going to be the princess of Kashmir and she fights for it.
A very appropriate introduction of the book is given in the description so I won't dwell on it any further as I am afraid I might provide some unnecessary spoilers. Now to my thoughts upon reading the book. Frist of all it is a futuristic slightly dystopian kind of story with connection to the hindu mythology. Now futuristic dystopia is popular genre as of now. And I think it is great that Indian authors are exploring it and linking it to rich hindu mythology. The book is mostly written in first person perspective. The writing of the book is quite smooth. The prolong does manages to capture my attention. The narrative is nice and book takes times in building up the stories as well the characters. The book has a lots of concepts bought together in one. So rest assure you definitely find some notion which you had not know and might land up googling about it. So overall I think it was a interesting book
Kashmir is known yet unknown to us. More of the latter part. The culture and traditions are acknowledged by less population. Surely lot of us are unaware of Niti stories too.
On Dawn’s 16th birthday she encounters two strange beings. They urge her to fight the Troika and state the claim of being the long-lost princess of Kashmir. The malicious trio – Dushita (overlord), Alman (AI machine) and Arman (cruel leader), have manipulated history, the human mind, and Niti stories. They rule over the world heading towards the Great Apocalypse where women are killed and men have lost souls.
In this masterpiece work of Rakesh K Kaul, he attempts to weave a futuristic world that originated from the once-flourishing Kingdom of Kashmir. Add on metaphysics, time travel, technology, and mystical essence.
If you are expecting a quick read looking a 250 or so page. Hang on! This book is deep. A reader would take time to absorb the wisdom woven.
Though this book aims for the younger mass above 14 years if you like sci-fi mystical books do give this one a read.
//You are a queen although you know it not, The mistress of the Cosmos in your thought A sun, a star, a moon that has no peer, For what the world is worth without a seer//
Desi fantasy we never knew we needed.
Let's talk about why you should read it?
Great female lead ✅ Squad goals✅ New fresh story✅ Story line where present meets past✅ Effortless blend of our old teachings and new technologies✅
You can never call a book, good if the antagonist is weak. But we do have a strong evil character.
And what makes him a strong evil character is his will to believe that whatever he's doing is right.
I couldn't stop reading it. It has some great quotes, some great teachings from our history as well as what we can learn from our reliance on technology.
It was an amazing experience to read something that was perfectly blended with our past teachings and knowledge as well as our upcoming future world.
Sci-fi with fantasy and mythology, that was so good!
Kashmir is known at this point obscure to us. A greater amount of the last part. The way of life and conventions are recognized by less populace. Clearly parcel of us are ignorant of Niti stories as well.
Dawn- The Warrior Princess of Kashmir is an storry around a 16-year-old young lady named Day break who is the princess of Kashmir and is just female alive brought into the world with a reason to battle against the insidiousness.
The Cover configuration is exceptionally complex and the cover does equity to its kind ( Science fiction). The convention of characters matches with my creative mind as the book recommends about the heroes. The psyche behind the cover configuration is truly appreciatable.
I will prescribe everybody to attempt this book once to peruse the unmistakable mix of innovativeness
I finished my last reading of this 2019 last night "DAWN- The Warrior Princess of Kashmir" and it was so worthy. I want to congratulate the author @rakeshkkaul for an amazing book. The story is set around in 3000AD . The main character of the Story is a young girl "Dawn" who lived in a pod for 16 years of her life and then how her takes totally different turn. Dawn was only female left in the world. I like the story part where in she chooses the battle against Dushita with a group of five outlaw boys and becomes the ultimate Warrior princess. She opt for daring path of battle at such stage of her life where in most of the girls wouldn't or couldn't take the step of any such thing. The storyline just got better and interesting when the more certain characters evolved. Overall it is a really good book and great Si-fi Saga.
Kashmir is known at this point obscure to us. A greater amount of the last part. The way of life and customs are recognized by less public. Doubtlessly part of us are unconscious of Niti stories as well. On Dawn's sixteenth birthday celebration she experiences two shocking creatures. They ask her to battle the Troika and express the case of being the tragically deceased princess of Kashmir. The noxious trio – Dushita (overlord), Alman (AI machine) and Arman (merciless pioneer), have controlled history, the human personality, and Niti stories. They rule over the world heading towards the Great Apocalypse where ladies are murdered and men have lost spirits. In this gem work of Rakesh K Kaul, he endeavors to weave a modern world that began from the once-prospering Kingdom of Kashmir. Extra power, time travel, innovation, and otherworldly embodiment.
YA and warriors meet at an interesting turn! Got your own Indian super warrior!
Such a beautifully crafted take of Kashmir and the young girl Dawn the princess. You will find mythology in here,SO ,robots, humans, warriors and the fight against evil. I have to contend the research the author has done for the book that you don't want to stops to take a break from reading. The concept of the only female left in a world attracted me to the book the most. This book is tailor made for the young adults and you don't want to miss the drama that runs parallel with the preparation to fight. The narrative is smooth and flows like a river throughout and you only come out of that river after the book ends.
Rakesh has so well brought in the mystical past of Kashmir, he has skilfully weaved the past Niti stories together with extra ordinarily imaginative, futuristic science and technology to the history of Kashmir. Very well narrated the story is of 3000 AD, Dawn encounters two strange beings on her 16 th birthday, hiding from the world in a cave of mount Kailash. . With a motley group of five outlaw boys she sets on a war of humanity. Just to unlock her power to become the ultimate warrior. . As the only female left in the world, Dawn decides the fate of the universe. . This book is a must read if you love mystical and mythological stories .
Dawn: The Warrior Princess of Kashmir by Rakesh K Kaul
Imagine being oblivious to your fate and future for a long time and suddenly you are drowned with information and instructions by some unknown people, upon which the fate of the earth depends. Something like this happens to our protagonist Dawn (you will get to know about the significance of the name while reading) and her world turns upside down within a single day. Rakesh K Kaul in her Dawn: The Warrior Princess of Kashmir has woven a story that comes under different genres at a time.
The story takes place in AD 3000 where Dawn comes across two strangers on her 16th birthday. Dawn has been living with her mother for the whole time and she had no knowledge about the happenings in the outside world. When she is presented with the truth and disclosed about her prophecy, Dawn remains flabbergasted. Not only Dawn has to fight against the most technologically lethal empire known to humanity but also, she has the responsibility of setting a balanced world. Being the only female left in the world, Dawn has a lot to prove but will she be able to conquer this unequal battle with the help of her Pandavas, a group of five outlaw boys?
Now imagine what would you expect? I expected a gripping tale of a small girl to her journey of being a savior to the world. I expected a story of friendship, betrayal, love, and unconditional support. I expected a chronicle of the eternal saga where good people win over the devilish minds. However, upon completing the novel yesterday night, my mind is torn between making a rant about what I feel and taking my time to write the review. The duty call compels me to pen down my thoughts and here is what I feel about the book.
Though the book started off a promising ground, somewhere in between it lost the plot. The connection that started to form between the characters and the reader initially, did not take off. At some points, my mind was thrust with information that I did not get the time to process.
Now coming to the points I cherished in the book include the author’s portrayal of Kashmir and the Niti tales that were told in between. I formed a new love for Kashmir after reading the book. The author’s extensive research on Kashmir has been come out fruitfully. The relationship between the Pandavas and Dawn touched my heart. The bond between Dawn and her mother was also heartfelt.
My overall experience with the book can be summed up with my saying that I would love to read more works by the author. However, this book did not match my expectations.
First of all, this book is my first scifi read and i am just thinking like how could i not read a single book from this genre. This book just blew my mind not because of the hype it had created but due to the content that's present in this book. Its good to read such book and best thing about this book is that it is written by an Indian author. The book is the perfect blend of the science fiction, thriller ,dystopia, history and others making it a perfect read and the best part been that it includes the rich history of Kashmir and its importance and the contributions of Kashmiri people in every aspect of human history which we often oversee it. The author presents us the importance of the NITI stories or the folklore which is present from many 1000 of years and how it helps in building the human civilisation. The plot begins in the time AD 3000 at the Mount Kailash. Dawn, who turns 16 years old, is the only girl in the entire universe and to protect her, her mother along with her hides in a cave at Mount Kailash in a pod. She doesn't allows Dawn to go out of the pod for 16 years. But when Dawn turns 16, she is met by two srangers in the pod who will turn her life completely and that two strangers reveals her that she is the chosen one who is destined to fight nefarious trinity, Arman, Alman and their lord Dushita. But before she could fight, Yuva(the elephant headed person who she meets in the pod)tells her the importance of the folklore and how it has been corrupted due to the insertion of the electrode,Sikha, in the man's head and also tells her that since she and other five analogues are electrode free can use the same folklore as one of their weapons. He also adds how a folklore when used properly can bring the changes in the human evolution and can affect the entire civilisation. So will Dawn be able to fulfil the prophecy that's been made 1000 of years ago? or will she be able to save the entire universe? To know the answers, pick this book and dive in.
This book will be one of my top read for many days. This book is narrated well and there isn't any part that will make you feel bored and the language used in the book is lucid. Since this book belongs to the science fiction there's a mention of technologies that aren't discovered yet which makes it more interesting for those people who love new technologies to know what we can except these kind of technologies in future centuries. The best part of the book for me will be the parts where we get to know the importance of Kashmir and its contribution to the human race and along with the importance of the storytelling and why should they be restored from time to time. Overall it is one of my best reads till date. I do recommend this book to all the techie lovers and the history people.
Look to this day! Such is the salutation of the Dawn!
Author Rakesh Kaul's Dawn: The Warrior Princess of Kashmir is a rarity on many fronts. First, it is a scientific fiction based in a region that is widely regarded as the world's most militarized zone. Second, the book is based on the ancient Indian Niti or 'sensible' stories.
Set in 3000 AD, Dawn - a sixteen year old princess of the ancient land of Kashmir and incidentally the last surviving female of the dystopic earth is edged on by a mysterious creature resembling Ganesh, the elephant headed Hindu God, to fulfill the prophecy of fighting the Troika or the trinity of the malicious leader Arman, the Artificial Intelligence war machine known as the AIman and their all consuming evil Lord Dushita- manipulator of minds and histories in order to save the world from complete annihilation. Threads of history, mythical folklore, and cutting-edge technology are beautifully interwoven by the exquisite penmanship of the author. The build-up of the story is lucid follows the Niti morphology architecture, similar to a raga in music. Slow notes initially building into a crescendo at the end. There are deep concepts spiritual concepts embedded in the story; which is why despite it being all of 255 pages, the book is slow read. The evils described in the pages sounded eerily similar to the materialistic evils that is plaguing humankind in the 21st century and it gave me the chills! There are very few negatives of the book, it's mostly a win-win for the reader. Except for the cover page illustration-it does not do justice to the meaningful and intellectually rich story contained within. And, occasionally, the parallels drawn from the real world were not elaborated upon convincingly, thereby producing an unintended comic effect. All in all, Dawn: The Warrior Princess of Kashmir is one of the best and most intriguing science-fiction works that I have read this month and intend to go back to, every now and then. Recommended to all lovers of sci-fi, mythology, folklore and historical fiction.
Book Title: Dawn: The Warrior Princess of Kashmir Author: Rakesh K. Kaul Publisher: Penguin Format: Kindle Language: English Genre: Science-fiction Pages: 255 Book Rating: 4.5/5
Kashmir is the innovator of Edutainment, a combination of education as well as entertainment. Within India, the art of storytelling was born in Kashmir. The most-read stories in the world are the stories of Panchatantra. According to the author, in the present times, a good story is an antidote to children and adults who are addicted to life-threatening viral games and social media trends. These obsessions are so harmful that youths are dying by suicide for them.
This story tells about 3000 AD and the setting is Kashmir. There is no man, woman or child except lonely Dawn in the world. She alone thinks back how everything has happened. In her memory, she thinks of her 16th birthday when she lived in a pod with her mother, maej and without father. She met Yuva, an elephant-headed man and Kiara, a white mynah. They tell her that she has been chosen to fight Dushita. Fifteen hundred years ago, Dushita took over the control of the valley called Kashmir, the birthplace of real-life Niti stories. He demolished their stories and culture. He gradually changed the timeless stories to the points of self-doubt and closed possibilities, so that humans start believing in the wrong stories. Dushita also created “QuGene robots” human beings so that they could serve him and killed all the women because they are the givers of life. He is searching for Dawn according to the Kalidasa’s prophecy. Dawn returns in 500 AD where Dushita has not appeared yet. The story is about how Dawn, with the help of Niti stories and Pandavas, set out to destroy not only Dushita, but Troika includes Dushita, Armaan, and Alman.
The story can captivate readers of all ages. It is full of thrills and adventures. The story is a hotchpotch of mythology, history and science fiction. The author adopts some mythological characters in his story but changes their names. The language is enchanting. The plot is based on a new concept. It is much similar to gaming stories. The cover image goes well with the storyline. The story reminds us of the great epics. Characters are fitted reasonably. Overall the book is a fun read.
Sci-fi books have always attracted me and if a story contains this much depth in its creation it just makes my day. “Dawn” is that story which will make you a fan of the author since the beginning of the story.
Dawn is portrayed as the main protagonist here who is known as the warrior of Kashmir. She being the last female left in the humankind takes the responsibility to fight the evil powers that has all the contribution towards the destruction of human-kind. Now she has made her team with five boys and their purpose is to find out the secrets of Niti and Kamiri tales of Kashmir. Above all Dawn is unaware of how to use the power she already holds hence she urgently needs to find those out in order to regain humankind. Now on the other hand there are these evil powers such as Dushita, Arman and their mind is controlled by a corrupted AI machine. Everything is set upon in 500 AD and 3000 AD and the story goes back and forth constantly in these eras.
The way the transpiration was shown from 500 AD to 3000 AD and vice versa was amazing. At no freaking point I found the narration to be messy. The author’s explanation made Kashmir float in front of my eyes. Especially the technical issues, the scientific progress, the AI machine- these were presented in such a fabulous way that it would attract you towards the whole sci-fi genre in a whole new way. I just couldn’t imagine how author maintained his imagination so strongly throughout. The story was exactly what we expect in our every-read that it should be something unique. Dawn’s character was portrayed so mighty that I cheered for her every time I saw her actions. The negative characters, the machines everything was remarkably perfect. Dawn’s difficulties felt so much real through the author’s view. I also liked how the author made epics like Mahabharata and some oral histories relevant at some points. The cover and the blurb are also consummate enough to allure a reader. Really it was a nice journey to with Dawn and Kashmir; the contemporary situation is well upheld in the story. I am suggesting everyone to read this book to drift in a different world and experience something astounding.
Right from our childhood, we come across books where a damsel in distress is being rescued by her Knight in Shining Armor, her very own Prince/ King. As a staunch feminist, I always love reading about strong female who doesn't need rescuing but rather is strong on her own accord. So, when I came across Dawn: The Warrior Princess of Kashmir, I immediately knew that this was something right under my alley.
Coming to the story, we are introduced right away to our main protagonist Dawn. The story is set in AD 3000, and we are told that Dawn has just turned sixteen. Unbeknownst to her, our main character comes from a rich heritage. According to a Prophecy, Dawn is the only one who has the power to fight Troika. The leader of this group, Dushita, is the feared one whose name has been whispered in fear by many. But before she goes head to head with him, our MC must pave the path first to obtaining her goal.
A chance encounter has Dawn filled with numerous questions about her past and the role that she os supposed to be fulfill. Will she be able and successful to conquer her kingdom? Or will this Warrior Princess succumb to the evil Trinity? Well, that's the main plot of the story.
Coming to the genre, we can classify it as Sci-Fi, but I absolutely loved the way the author was able to imbibe our abounding Kashmir in the story and it was not completely dystopian per se.
To end my review, I would recommend this book to all those out there who like strong female characters in their books, or who are fond of reading stories where the main plot/basis revolves around a female. I'm going to give this book FIVE WARRIOR STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tittle- If you read about the author , he is an ex IITan. Hence, I could imagine what will happen when scince and literature will meet up? But, the perfect tittle provided a fascination. I was more into reading this book. At the end,I liked the tittle. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Cover- the Cover design is very sophisticated and the cover do justice to its genre ( Sci- fi fiction) . The potraition of characters matches with my imagination as the book suggests about the protagonists. The mind behind the cover design is really appreciatable.

Blurb- As a reader, I had no idea of the story. As usual I followed three steps- Tittle, cover, blurb and hence I was able to get little hint. So, the plot is based on 3000 A.D . Living in 21th scentury and imagining the incidents of future is quite tough thing for a writer. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Storyline - Everyone will explain you the storyline. But , I would like present few things which won't be discussed by many. A Sci-fi fiction book where a girl is the main protagonist, isn't it quite rare? We always potray a male as main protagonist to reffer him as ' Hero' .so, this distinct approach of the author really impressed me. Kashmir -is the place where the all incidents are going on . Why The Author have choosen Kashmir ? We too know some tensions go on that place . May be he imagined among one of the people living in Kashmir and wanted to pen down their thoughts about protecting their motherland. The book even discusses the Custom, tradition of Kashmir , as eg- 'Kawah' . It will be really great to know that 'Dawn' will be successful or not to protect her future from Devils. Ratings-4/5
This young adult fantasy with the essence of mythology makes the book engaging and creative simultaneously. The author has delivered this masterpiece that would make you imbibe fantasy, and encompass it within yourself on pretext of today's relevance as something imaginative yet real, mysterious and shimmery, and yet so well narrated. His writing style can be fantasized as the vast world waiting for the protagonist Violet to be explored and felt making the book as sparkling as the spatial dust giving an exemplary show. With the science and miraculous elements, the author has done a brilliant job in pampering the readers with the discoveries of this immersive world of Dawn. The plot is a heartwarming tale of love, resilience and acceptance. Dawn's journey all throughout the book with her relationships with others are found to be an exciting adventure and would never disappoint with the fall of disengagement. Princess Dawn, one of the most important remaining on the Earth, taking baby steps at each of the intervals explores more of her powers with every obstacle she faces in this magical world. In the first half, the plot involves the relationship wth an extent of understanding and patience. The second half of the book creates a vivid sense of mystery and intriguing resilience within the people. Apart from a few concentration blocks here and there and bits of confusion within the adventures, the book is a recommended read and the readers would be left waiting for more in the upcoming works of the author!❤️ #mystery #mythology #fiction 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸

✨ Surprisingly, the book has pleased me very much. I love fantasy but I've never read a sci-fi book. This book is mingle of both. I admire the author for bringing a lot of aspects into this one story. Do you love Panchatantra stories? Here's your chance to read a modern panchatantra with a traditional touch in it.
POSITIVE POINTS: ▪ A fast paced story with powerful talking animals and a strong female character taking on the world. ▪ The book shows how a little change in a story can change everything in the outcome of it. ▪ This is not just for the Sci-fi or fantasy lovers. I'd recommend it to every reader. ▪ A pretty anime cover. Also, it's a short read. I finished the book in a single sitting.
NEGATIVE POINTS: ▪ It was a really new and unique concept. So many things were included that most of the book was covered with what those particular thing or word meant. ▪ If you want a slow burn then this is not for you.
I am not sure in what category I should put this book into. I guess it was mythological fantasy fiction where the beautiful kashmir was chosen as the backdrop for its mystery , thriller and evolving sci -fi side. I am going to start by telling you that if you are a sucker for fantasy go for this. This book has everything a fantasy lover needs strong story line , action, friendship, villains ,mystery, agenda, drama everything , the new addition into this is the sci fi axis, honestly I am not a big fan of sci fi so I was a little confused in start at some points, like when yuva and kira appears but soon enough I grasped the edge of it and could easily slide into story. I really liked how the antagonists were introduced into the story by giving them enough credit and edge to their character to be a strong part of the story. I don't think researching all those folklore of kashmir and then merging it with sci fi angle is an easy job, it requires hell lot of imagination and creativity which is clearly visible in the story as you go deeper into this world . The blend of all these genre and time travel is quite imperceptible. This is the story of sixteen year old Dawn going on war against the troika with her warriors in tow to become the warrior princess. More then the story itself I was captivated by its elements. You will have to bear with the slow and strenuous start to reach the most fascinating part. I will recommend everyone to try this book once to read the distinct blend of creativity .
Synopsis - Dawn; The Warrior Princess of Kashmir is a type of sci-fi mythological story with a modern touch written by author Rakesh k Kaul. This is the second sci-fi novel by the author in which he tried to show his aptitudes towards colliding with different fictions in the form of this story. This book is written especially for children and youngsters but if you like sci-fi stories this one is perfect for uh.
Coming to the story, The story is all about a girl named Dawn from 3000 AD and is written in the future. She settles in the beautiful vally of Kashmir. It's her 16th birthday when she confronted two strangers named Yuva (elephant-headed man) who is the Son of Maha, the creator of the universe and Kira (a white mynah). Yuva wants her (Dawn) to defeat the evil creatures named Dushita, Arman and Alman along with the UI (Unified Intelligence) but Dawn was the only girl left in the whole universe along with five Boys who is sterile from the UI technology and can help her conquer with the evils and Save the universe.
This is not only a science fiction story but it contains a lot more excitement and spices from the great mythology of Ramayana and Mahabharata one cannot anticipate in the form of the story. Overall, I really enjoy reading this one and want to recommend this book to other readers too.
