Learning to Heal: An Awakened Novel

Rate this book
Chronologically speaking, Ashley had only spent a small portion of her time on the planet in what couldn’t really even be charitably considered ‘less than ideal circumstances’. To someone who had actually lived through that hell, well… let’s just say whoever even considered that comparison should probably get punched in the face.

Still, the experiences had both hurt Ashley to the core, and yet she came out just a little bit stronger each time.
But the pain of her past wasn’t something that could simply be forced to disappear, even in a world inhabited by people with strange and wondrous powers. It was something that would take time, a whole bunch of therapy, and most importantly, the love, compassion, and bond of those that cared for her. Even with dark forces still at work all around her, it was starting to happen. Slowly but surely the frightened young girl was starting to understand.

Ashley had both a power and a strength she never truly realized she possessed, and with the support of her friends she just might be able to start actually taking them on.

The story continues, this time with the healer, Ashley. Westlake and his minions are convincing people to vote for him, and he wins the primary election. Still a good story and Aiden, a girl, a werewolf if moderately peeved, and rage embodied if pushed too far, and Kitty are starting to believe the threat Westlake poses. They are joined by other interesting characters with their own special powers. Not quite a barn burner yet, but still a ripping good yarn.

It’s Enjoyable

This was a good installment in the story. I like how Jennifer and Ashley both came out of their shells a bit more. And I am curious as to what happens with the presidential candidate.

Track and Ashley

Another fantastic read in this series, the girls go from strength to strength and the storyline always includes a fight or flight scenario looking forward to the last book in the rising series.

New Best Author

Well written, continuation from an awesome first book in the series. The characters are wonderful, and awesomely developed with a terrific storyline. Plenty of twists and turns woven into the drama of being a teen and fey. I totally geek out with the entire series of books. The author loves to toss little geek-dom quotes and tidbits from some of my favorite sci-fi heros like Blade, Star Trek, and others. Want a fun read? Pickup this book, but I recommend start with the beginning series so you get all the back story.

Well, it's two down and one to go. I love this series and look forward to starting book three. If you like Paranormal tales you will enjoy this series but start with book one.
