Meet the Blackthorne men, each one as hot, fast, and smooth as the whisky that built the family fortune, and the yachts and race cars that bear their name. From proud Scottish stock, Blackthornes never lose. But, one by one, the seven sexy men in this family are about to risk everything when they fall for strong and beautiful women who test their mettle in life…and love.

JASON - Book Two

Jason Blackthorne wants to make films. As head of Blackthorne Entertainment, he’s finally getting his break – a gritty cop drama filmed near the family compound. He has a lot riding on the success of the series, both with family and the industry. He doesn’t have time to notice how pretty or talented his assistant is. He just needs her to jump when he says jump.

Mallory Price has tried acting, but what she really wants is to be behind the camera. She is a storyteller at heart and she knows she could direct a killer show. She has great ideas, and though Jason seems to hear her, he never sees her as anything but a Girl Friday.

But when an accident on set puts him flat on his back, and a mercurial director goes missing, Mallory steps in. Long nights at work and equal footing create sparks between Jason and Mallory. But when Jason is on his feet once again, and the director returns, has anything really changed between them? Or was it all just a dream?

3.5 - "I don't know what it is about you... but I kind of want to rip your clothes off every time I see you." Stars!

We return to King Harbor for the second book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series. This time Jason is in the hot seat, and initially it would seem that the head of Blackthorne Entertainment is in way over his head with all the problems that are befalling his latest project.

The woman turned him on…

Enter stage left, uber assistant Mallory Price, his underappreciated overworked right hand woman. Who doesn’t love ad workplace romance, and boss/assistant is one of my favourites. I have to admit it took me a little while to warm to both these characters mainly because Jason seemed a little self-centred and Mallory a bit of a doormat at the beginning of the story.

"I feel like I’ve been on this path for so long… and against all odds it’s happening."

Things go from bad to worse with the company’s latest production being plagued with scandal and speculation. So-much-so that family matriarch Graham Blackthorne contemplates pulling funding completely, but Jason and Mallory manage to forge on in work and at play.

"I need you for me… Not the job."

There was very little interaction with the rest of the Blackthorne family in this one, and I felt the loss. The big secret that everyone was wondering about in the first book was barely mentioned too, so I am interested to see where in the series it will be resolved. Still a really enjoyable read though, and I look forward to getting my hands on Ross next!

I received an ARC of this book to read in exchange for a fair review. Jason by Julia London is the second book in the multi-author series 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes. This is the 3rd such series the authors have done and they are very enjoyable reads. The books are what I would describe as novella length and one will be released each week with the first one on August 1, 2019 and this one on August 8, 2019 with the other 5 following weekly. Jason is the story of Jason Blackthorne the middle child who devastated by the deaths of his parents turned to movies as a way of coping with his grief. He feels a good deal of pressure to succeed as a film maker and to prove himself to his family. Mallory Price is Jasons assistant she was an unsuccessful actress and now makes short films for competitions hoping to become a director and filmmaker in her own right, her mad organizational skills are keeping Jason on track and neither of them will allow that pesky attraction they feel to keep their relationship anything less than perfectly professional until all hell breaks loose with the show they are producing for Netflix. Julia London never writes these two as anything less than equals and I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to the rest of the series. #JuliaLondon #JasonBlackthorne #7Brides #BlackthornBrothers #HollywoodRomanceNovel #7bridesfor7blackthornes #Bookstagram

4.5 Star Review of Jason (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes # 2) by Julia London Julia London is a new author to me and I have no idea why I have not heard or read her before. This is the second in an exciting new series from multiple authors and is Jason and Mallory Price’s book. I was intrigued when I first read about the Blackthorne men and the dynamic surrounding their family and now having read the first two books I am more intrigued than ever. The Blackthornes own a diverse range of businesses and Jason heads up Blackthorne Entertainment; he has trouble keeping assistants as he is disorganized and unfocused. Hiring Mallory to be his latest assistant he has hopes that she will work out. Mallory is efficient and capable and when Jason is injured she takes on the additional workload and performs efficiently. To his surprise she is not only a great assistant but eventually he realizes that she might just be perfect for him as well. The chemistry between Jason and Mallory builds and I loved how the relationship built between them, particularly since they have both been burned in the past. Can these lost souls come together and embark on a bright future together or are they destined to be alone? The characters were intriguing and there were times that I worried that Jason and Mallory s would not get the happily ever after they deserved. A well written, romantic, sweet and at times passionate read that kept my attention from the start. The characters were strong and I enjoyed Julia London’s style of writing and I was thoroughly entertained throughout my read.

Jason by Julia London is the second book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series. Book one is Devlin by Barbara Freethy and it's worth the time and money to read it, too!

Jason is struggling to make his production company successful and keep his new series at the top of its game. Mallory takes the job of his assistant in hopes that this will be her “in” into the industry. When everything seems to be falling apart, can they work together to make everyone successful or will it all come crashing down?

This book was a quick, satisfying read. There’s romance, a little mystery, and family drama. While it can be read as a stand-alone book, I highly recommend starting the series before reading this one. We’re only 2 books in, so there’s not much to catch up on.

The characters were likable. I could really feel for Mallory having to keep Jason organized as he seems to have ADHD. I live in a houseful of people with ADHD and it’s truly a constant struggle to keep everything and everyone organized. But I could also sympathize with Jason for the same reason. He’s also struggling with the family pressure from his uncle that truly does seem impossible. I really liked the chemistry between these two characters. It wasn’t angsty and Mallory was not a pushover, despite her lack of experience in the business.

NICUnurse’s Rating: The writing was good and the story seemed to move along well. While it didn’t leave me thinking about or agonizing over the story for days, it did leave me will that feel-good feeling we all desire when reading romance books. It’s definitely entertaining and worth taking a shot on! I give Jason by Julia London 4 out of 5 stars!

Another classic romance story with a contemporary flair, Jason is the second book in the Blackthorne series and is one sweet read! Jason and Mallory’s love story is a perfect example of unexpected, exhilarating love.

At first, Jason comes off as an overbearing Hollywood prick. Yet, Jason is far from that notion. A man with a Hollywood name but one who’s not steeped in Hollywood cynicism, Jason’s character surprises. Mallory’s inane patience exposes Jason’s sweetness and value. Torn between loving her boss and her dream career, Mallory realizes she has to make a difficult choice.

This was a quick, sweet read for me. I loved that this Blackthorne story picks up where the first book left us while introducing us to the first Blackthorne cousin. I also loved that the hero in this story is the oblivious one...ha! I did feel though the pacing of the story was a little off which had to do with the beginning chapters style of writing. The author seemed to switch gears as soon as the characters meet though and then story took off. Even though this story doesn’t really expose the mystery of the Blackthorne secret and only gives a couple bread crumbs to follow, this story just continues to pique my interest in the series. Definitely looking forward to Ross’s book and all things indicate, Ross will take me for a ride. Can’t wait!

The Blackthornes are famous for their whiskey and for their business acumen. Jason is head of Blackthorne Entertainment. He wants to make movies but he's overwhelmed by the details. He can't keep an assistant because he's too disorganized. When he hires Mallory Price, he finds that she's perfect for the job and for him. Do the have a future? Mallory is a jewel. She's on top of everything. I just wish that Jason didn't take advantage of her. I had to laugh at her snarky retorts when he oversteps. I felt the chemistry between them. It's both romantic and sweet. When Jason and Mallory shared their past, it made it easier to understand their motivation. Also, I enjoyed when the story focused on the movie making. The drama and the egos Jason and Mallory had to deal with pulled me in. I could understand their frustration. I wanted a HEA but I wasn't sure it would happen. Circumstances were stacked against them. Julia London kept me on the edge of my seat.
I'm enjoying the series. Who knows who will find love next.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

Oh, I liked this book and give it a solid 4.5 outta 5! It was a quick and light read that still had plenty of story line and romance!

Jason is a force and is CEO to Blackthorne Entertainment, and is so excited that one of his projects has been picked up by Netflix. But then everything starts falling apart and it happens pretty darn fast. Good thing he has his trusty assistant Mallory by his side. The only problem with that is that Mallory wants more, not just with her career but also with Jason...

All in all, this was an entertaining read even though it seemed to go a little fast. We were able to delve deeper into Jason but also his family as well, these Blackthornes are no joke! I totally recommend this book if you are looking for a great story, strong chemistry, and amazing characters!!

PS: I received this as an ARC in return for my honest review. Thank you to Julia London and L Woods PR for allowing me a copy!

ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars

Jason is book 2 in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes by Julia London and a part of a series with six other amazing authors! Each is a standalone but has an underlying story that looks to connect to each new book...

Jason Blackthorne is head of Blackthorne Entertainment and finally getting the break he needs to make his new cop drama but he is so disorganized and needs an assistant who is the opposite...in comes Mallory Price. She is totally organized, efficient, had great ideas and really wants to be behind the camera.

Working together but no letting the sparks ignite is getting harder to ignore...what happens next is funny, lots of chemistry, snarky comments, learning more about the past, family and hopefully a HEA for these two...

Can’t wait for the next book in this series...Ross by Lynn Raye Harris.

In all honesty, I was disappointed with this book compared to book 1. I did not feel the characters really got to shine. It was all about the scandal and not about Jason and Mallory. We had glimpses into what could be, but I felt the story could have done more.

I did like the trip to Dead Man's Cove. I liked the story behind it and Nana's explanation of the story. It makes one wonder which is true. Maybe we will learn more as more stories are told.

I do not feel like we got closure on this story. Yes Jason and Mal end up together, but what happens with Cass and Darien? And how did the shooting for season 2 go? And how did Mallory like working with the new director and did it turn into a dream job or a nightmare or somewhere in between?

Stars: 4.5

This is a new author to me and I am definitely hooked. The story centers on Jason and Mallory and the drama that ensues. I absolutely loved the chemistry between these two and the banter is absolutely hilarious. Drama ensues behind the scenes of the set they are on. Will their chemistry prove to be enough to overcome their differences?

Ok the only negative aspect of this story was it was so slow in the beginning. I had to walk away from it a couple of times, but about 50% in it picked up and had me engrossed. That’s why I didn’t give it a 5 star rating. I look forward to reading more by this author and I cannot wait for the next book of the series!

Jason and Mallory book 2 in the Blackthornes series was a great read, the story was fast paced, I enjoyed how different it was from Devlin's story that even though the Blckthornes are all family they all have completely different lives and Jason's life took us into the entertainment world and his magical assistant Mallory was the woman behind the genius man, I have to say I worried that Mallory would be a doormat but she surprised me in a lot of ways and I think this couple will be a powerhouse together.

Four and a half stars

JASON by Julia London is the second in the multi-author continuity 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes, about the seven men raised as brothers in southern Maine.

Blackthorne is a huge family-run business that started out with whisky but now encompasses many branches. Jason heads up Blackthorne Entertainment, and is working on producing a new mini series that should put Blackthorne on the big/little screen map in a big way. He knows how fortunate he is to have Mallory Price as his right-hand woman. She's an incredible assistant, and makes miracles happen in the course of making his demanding shooting schedule fall into place.

While Mallory finds satisfaction in helping Blackthorne Entertainment and Jason's schedule run smoothly, her heart's desire is to direct. And her ridiculous attraction to Jason isn't helping her stay focused.

Julia London's story is a fun one, and the sizzling tension between Jason and Mallory is a treat to read!

Great second book

Book 2 of the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthorne series. Mallory wants to direct one day. Not just the shorts and commercials she has been doing, but TV shows and movies. She takes a job with Jason Blackthorne, as his assistant. As organized as Mallory is, Jason is the opposite. As the filming of the second season of his show looms ahead, problems pop up. Including Mallory telling him she is leaving for a job that will let her do what she dreams of doing. Add Jason's uncle who is head of the whole Blackthorne empire, a director who won't see anyone's ideas but his, a star who gets fired for his sexual advances to staff. Will Jason be able to reach his goal? And will he be able to convince Mallory to help him

Jason Blackthorne has put everything he has into making his film a success. He hires a new assistant who becomes a major distraction.

Mallory Price has tried acting, but really has her heart set on becoming a director. She accepts the job as Jason's assistant with hopes that he will see what great ideas she has.

Mallory steps in when Jason really needs her. But when the opportunity comes when Mallory can finally do what she has dreamed up doing, Jason does not step up like she was hoping for. Will Jason realize before it's too late what is right in front of him?

I really didn't like Jason, he was too dismissive for my taste. I found his behavior appalling. I get that he is busy and looking to make the best show possible, yet he would not do what was best for that. I did applaud how he handled the scandal. It was immediate and he did not back down. I understood Mallory and what she was doing, I get loyalty but when a better offer came up, in my opinion she should have snapped it up. She should have given notice and let Jason work on making things right. I read on Kindle Unlimited.

Jason Blackthorne is a workaholic. He is trying to film a series and problems keep persisting. He can't seem to keep his personal assistants. Mallory Price is a greenhorn. She wants a job so bad in the film industry that she will do anything. Fortunately she gets Jason and his jumbled up brain. She can bring order to the chaos. Sparks are flying. They are both trying to ignore them but the sizzle is just to much. The cesspool of Hollywood is catching up. It is sink or swim. Oh what an ending.

5 stars for Jason by Julia London

Another great read for this amazing series. Love the Blackthornes. There are so many characters. Love the storyline, but I especially love the way Mallory takes care of Jason, who reminds you of the absent professor. You can relate to Jason being the middle child and forgotten. I love Mallory's spunkiness and sassiness. Can't wait for the next installment of the Blacktorne Family.

Jason and Mallory

Ms, London is a new author for me, but the series is not. Her contribution with the second story in this multi-author compilation was well-plotted and interesting. The characters are fun and relatable. The only issues were with the editing: wrong word usage, spelling errors and typos which were a distraction at times.

So Enjoyed

Jason is one of the cousins and is trying to run the Entertainment industry section of the family. Mallory is a up and coming director but she needs a job and ends up as Jason's assistant. But things get crazy and he depends on her more. But something heard up between them.

It was decent

I liked but did not love the book. The story was like the main character a little messy which allowed the readers to know what the main character was like. I would have liked a little more finish with the two accusers to see they got what they deserved.

Loving this series

I'm getting totally lost in the Blackthorne universe. Their lives are so real and relatable - even billionaires have tough times to get through, especially when it comes to love.
