Everly is a human who lives outside the gates to the town of aliens. One day a green alien, Thane, comes to her rescue. They come to learn about each other and one day he takes her to his town. Only they meet a friend of his who goes very alien beast and tries to take her. Now the Dr must figure out why he is acting like that. When it's learned she's a twin more information on her past is revealed. But through it all Everly and Thane bond. Then an unexpected surprise turns up and life gets a tad more interesting. The past is coming and Everly may not be safe. Now Thane must protect his mate.
A beautiful love story with lots of surprising turns and twists!!.

Everly McMillan was taking care of a sick child when a big, smelly man patrolling the borders tried to force his way into their food supply. The bully saw no reason that the children should eat when all they did was play. She explained that the children were the ones who gathered the vegetables to feed the guards, and that the lunch was what they saved from their ration of dinner so they would have a snack at story time – part of their dinner and not additional food. The man grabbed at her, intent on taking the children’s food anyway. But a voice stopped him. The man, Thane, was one of the Xeno Sapiens! He was close to 7-feet tall and heavily muscled. His listened to each side and told the man to leave and avoid that area in the future. Then, to her surprise, Thane asked if he could stay for story time. The children were not at all afraid of him, so she let him join them.

Everly was attracted to Thane from the first time she saw him. He apparently felt the same. That first night, he sent a gift to her – an umbrella that would shade the children from the sun and provide extra light in the evening. They are comfortable together. But in these times of futuristic Earth, being singled out and given gifts is not safe. If you don’t blend in with everyone else, it can be a death sentence, especially if you have already made an enemy. Will Thane keep Everly safe? Do they have any possibility of a future together?

I enjoyed this story that hooks the reader right from the start. Everly and the children she cares for are homeless. And yet she makes their lives better by teaching them what it means to care for each other. The children love her, and she would sacrifice anything for them. The values she teaches become very obvious to the reader. And the relationship development with Thane is wonderful as it seems they are meant for each other. But it is a dangerous path they travel. More Xeno Sapien excitement!
Oh, I’ve been eagerly waiting for Everly’s story! She’s quite a complex character and I have enjoyed getting to know her. She’s attracted to Thane from the start - as he is to her. It doesn’t take them long to figure out they’re meant to be together. That doesn’t mean their path is easy, though. It seems as if Everly runs into trouble wherever she goes. Where can she be safe? Thane does have some nice surprises to help her out.
I adore the young children she tends. She has such wonderful, empathetic care for them and they love her dearly. The storytelling time is an endless source of amusement, designed to keep them talking about it, and what might happen next, removing their focus from their chores. I love the potential of the new characters we meet in this book, and am primed for the next one...please hurry, Ms. Marks!

Thane is a Green Xeno Sapien who is patrolling the walls. He hears a commotion and witnesses a human male trying to steal the food from the children. Everly is trying to get rid of the human man from stealing the food the kids had saved from their dinner the night before. Being green and over 6 feet plus tall really gets you notices. This was such a great book. Lots of drama, excitement, adventure and a few sexy scenes. It has somewhat of a happy ending but there is a part of the book that leads you to the next book. I'm going to grab the books that started this series. This is my first book from this author and I liked her writing very much. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last. It can be read as a stand-alone. I’ll definitely be going back and reading the previous stories as I fell in love with all the Xeno Sapians (and I’ll be reading the next one and any stories after that). Thane is an incredible hero, he jumps all in and doesn’t care about Everly’s past, he just wants to protect, provide for her and love her from now on. Everly also jumps all in but wants to make sure that she protects everyone and isn’t willing to put her happiness first. She is truly selfless. Together they are a perfect couple and I loved reading their story.

This was another fun read in the xeno sapiens series. Thane is such a great hero large and green he definitely stands out and when he sees Everly he knows she is for him. He sees how selfless she is caring for the children around her even though she has nothing herself and begins to send her little gifts to help out. However Everly has a past that she is desperately trying to keep hidden. Can Thane save Everly from the demons that haunt her while keeping her for himself? I am really enjoying this series although this relationship moved even faster than the others I have read in this series it was not a bad thing. By the way Thanes equipment was epic what more could any girl want. A male that showers you with attention and love as well as making you scream.

I really liked this book even it was the first one in this series that I have read.
I did not have any problem to follow the storyline and what is happening. Characters were amazing; both Everly and Thane. Surprisingly was how Thane was understanding and patient and in the same time total alpha character (my dream man with green skin ).
The only problem I have is now to wait next book in series…not to give any spoilers, this couple has HFN ending, but what will happen with next one. In the meantime, I think I will try also the rest of the books in this series.

Despite looking different, the Xeno Sapiens are more like us, than some humans. This book rolls easily from page to page, all the time dragging the fully enchanted reader along the storyline. The storyline twists with enough turns to keep you guessing- at one point I knew where the plot was leading me, until I read on and realised I knew nothing. A well written and thoroughly entertaining book that earns a solid, if possibly stingy, four stars from me.

In a time when sticking out could mean your death, Everly was anything but plain. She cared about the children that no one else cared about and she tried to keep them safe from a jerk who wanted to take the little food that they had. Enter Thane who saves her and the children and gifts her with an umbrella which puts a target on her back. Will not post spoilers, but this book was great and I look forward to more from the author.

This is my first time reading a book by Rena Marks and it was awesome!!!The plot and story building were awesome. I loved Thane and Everly they had a hot and steamy chemistry with awesome passion. Lots of drama, suspense, excitement, adventure,twists, turns, and somewhat of a happy ending a definite must read for any fan!!!! I can't wait to read more from this author!!!!

Everly is sweet and so nurturing with the children under her care. She deserves to be happy with Thane. Yes he is green, seven feet tall and an alien alpha male but he knows how to treat his mate. How could she not fall in love with him? A steamy little romance that fits in perfectly with the other stories in this very entertaining sci-fi series.

This was a little different from my usual scifi read, but I definitely enjoyed it. I really liked Thane; hes definitely a memorable main character. I liked how Everly stood up for the kids. I found this to be a great read.

Thane & Everly are so stinking cute its hard not to get cavities! This is a wonderful Series. It reminds me of the the species series by Laurann Dohner which is loved by all. There won't ever be enough books in it to read. Digging right in to Angela & Zee's book ASAP

I enjoyed this new Xeno Sapiens story! It's a fairly quick read that takes place on a creative and future earth. Everly and Thane are so good for each and together. It's instant between them. I enjoyed this romance and adventure.
