On Earth, 12 female college students board a starship for A Year of Interstellar Education. Crashing on a primitive planet inhabited by barbarian aliens was not on their itinerary...
Once our bonding is complete, Ken-zee will be mine forevermore. When the sky crackles with lights, sounds and colors, and small wingless flyers soar to the ground, I pray they contain blessings that will save our tribe. A small, shapely female emerges from one of the flyers and I know in my heart she is mine. The gods have answered my prayers, sending salvation from the heavens. My mate has arrived in the wingless flyer and she is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen.
The golden-skinned barbarian thinks I'm his mate.Trauhn is everything I've ever wanted in a man. He's fierce, handsome and protective, and worships the ground I walk on. He's also a huge, scaled alien who makes my heart race and my body tremble. When we're attacked by a rabid pack of wolf-bats, he's ready to sacrifice his own life to save mine. I'd be a fool to push Trauhn away. But staying with him means giving up the only way of life I've ever known.
Trauhn is the first alien barbarian romance in the Rakui Warriors series. This human-alien love story has danger, action and lots of steam. Each book is a complete romance, although there is a continuing story line that unfolds throughout the series.
This is the romance between Kenzie and Trauhn. Kenzie and a few other college students end up crash landing on this abandoned planet, but they soon realize that it is not abandoned at all. She ends up meeting the Rakui warriors, and one of them claims her as his mate.
This one was just okay for me. It fell a little flat :/ I was really confused with what was going on with the other rogues on the planet and did not think the romance was developed enough.
I had very high hopes for this book after reading the blurb and the cover was eye catching.
Starting out I was excited by the storyline and how the characters ended up on the planet...but it soon fell a little flat for me. I am all for insta-lust but running off to get some happened a little quick for me in this book.
I always find it interesting how an author addresses a language barrier and I really liked how the author used italics to show words that Trauhn didn't understand when Kenzie spoke. On the other hand I couldn't stand that Trauhn sounded so barbaric when he spoke. I understand that he was trying to communicate in a language he hardly remembered from when he was young but it drove me nuts and made him sound dumb "Trauhn like nip-ul" I think I would have preferred him be the strong silent type.
In the end this book didn't leave me wanting to read the next book in the series so that's why I could only rate it 2 stars.
3.25 Stars I liked this book. I loved Trauhn, he was so sweet and so confident in him and Kinzie‘s relationship.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. The universe and the people have a lot of potential for this to be a really good series. I am eager to see where it will go in the future installments.
They have gone on a space journey for a year but they crash land on a strange planet where they meet them. As soon as one sees her, he know he has just met his other half. Will they save his tribe? Can it work? Will they be rescued? Will they want to? See if they find this is where they truly belong

This book reminded me a lot of Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarians. Since that was my first real foray into alien romance, it stands to reason that most of the books that I've read in the subgenre since then get compared to it. Anyway, Grey and Wells have created a world with many aspects that I appreciated in IPB without the hostile planetary weather conditions and the giant trigger warning that was the IPB origin story.
Trauhn and Kinzie's romance didn't have much depth, which is probably a side effect of all the details the authors crammed in to set up the world all in one book. On the plus side, Kinzie and her friends didn't just sit back and wait to be rescued; they were always planning and doing what they could to help the warriors help them. That alone makes me want to check out the next book.
DNF 50%. If you want a romance story and not a pregnancy story like me, then don't waste your time. Not a bad book just definitely not what I'm looking for.
This book was fairly well written and edited, with some missing words and wrong word choices but not enough to significantly detract from the reading experience. This characterization in this novel was somewhat thin, but the hero and heroine of this novel were still somewhat sympathetic. There was nothing objectionable about either character. The world building was not especially vibrant. The world and culture of the Rakui was not exactly a character in itself. The development of the romantic relationship between hero and heroine was also clumsy, with me the reader not really seeing them go through the process of falling in love. The strength of this novel was the plot, with very interesting questions left unanswered at the end of the novel. What was Earth Gov hoping to accomplish by experimenting with the college girls? Who hired the mercenaries to kidnap the women if it wasn't Earth Gov, and why? That part was interesting and made me perhaps want to read the next novel in this series. This novel uses the Mars Needs Women trope, with the Rakui tribe experiencing a severe shortage of women. This novel also uses the Breeder trope, with the TEASE symbiont acting as the spur. This novel had low angst and high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures. The characterization and relationship development in this story rates two stars, the world building rates three stars, and the plot rates four stars, for a combined score of three stars. This novel has a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a plus to this series if the author continues that pattern. I recommend this story to readers who want a short, fluffy sci-fi to read after a busy day or in a waiting room. I will not be buying myself a keeper copy of this novel, but I still enjoyed it.

Listen, I went into this book with exactly one expectation: to read some smutty alien romance and call it a day. What I got instead? The Temu version of Ice Planet Barbarians—cheap, rushed, and falling apart at the seams.
Trauhn is supposed to be the broody, sexy alien warrior we’re all here to swoon over, but instead, he feels like he was copy-pasted from a generic alien romance template. (With some glitches in the coding, because wow, the dialogue.) And the heroine? Bland, forgettable, and making choices that had me questioning if she even wanted to be in this book. Their chemistry? Nonexistent. The smut? Somehow both cringe-worthy and boring. (A real achievement, honestly.)
The plot—or whatever passed for one—was so flimsy it felt like an afterthought. Random things kept happening for no reason, and the world-building was essentially: “Aliens exist, they’re sexy, and they grunt a lot.” Cool, but could we at least try for some effort?
If Ice Planet Barbarians is the fun, campy blockbuster of alien romance, Trauhn is the dollar-store knockoff you regret buying five minutes in. At least the smut could have saved it, but nope—this book managed to fumble even that.
⭐️ 1/5 stars—because while I finished it, I’ll be using the experience as a cautionary tale the next time I’m tempted to read a random alien romance. Spare yourself the disappointment and just reread Ice Planet Barbarians instead.
I bought this book on Amazon; this is my honest review. -I loved the premise of having pods landing on a strange planet, having them separated and trying to find each other, while fighting the urge to mate with someone, anyone, even if it's a barbaric alien. -I loved the way Trauhn wants to reach Kenzie's pod even though she's the furthest away from he and Remmel. I liked how they decided to split from Remmel and Jillian and go their own way to mate. -I wasn't too keen on the fluff, but it was still full of adventure, twists and turns here and there, and the final kidnapping at the end with many unanswered questions on that one (who, why, where, how). It was also funny. -Editing needs another pass - one star off: too many words (it outlines the the secret), not the correct word (games to place/play), missing words, etc. -Safety practice: "My hands shake as I help Jillian strap in. Then, I secure my harness...". You should always take care of yourself first. Anyone who ever went on a plane, even a small one, knows this. -You absolutely need this book to understand what's going on in book #2 and probably the rest of them too. One star off. I was at chapter 7 of book 2 and had to buy this one, and read it, to grasp and make sense of things.
Trauhn: A SciFi Alien Barbarian Romance Rakui Warriors - Book 1 By Lena Grey and Juno Wells Kindle unlimited purchase 12 female college students board the starship Educator for A Year of Interstellar Education. Crash landing on a primitive planet inhabited by barbarian aliens was not on their itinerary… Omg, what a book. Not going to give anything away it will take away from the book. Sex is great, MATE drive was spot on! Protection and love was heart-stopping. The world-building was so imaginative. The characters(human) they didn't cry they were strong where great to read about (aliens) they were loving and caring had just enough "alpha" to make a girl week in the knees, with enough pull to keep me on the edge of my seat to know more about them. The main H and h of this book were great characters to start this series off. Kenzie was brave and could take care of herself even to the point where she made Trauhn happy she was his mate FOREVERMORE. I wish the next book was available already. This seems like a series Im going to really enjoy.
Kenzie and her best friend are on an interstellar ship with other women doing a year of college studies on cultures on other planets. Their ship is bombarded by a solar storm and all on board evacuate. Their escape pod and the others land on an unidentified planet that is suppose to be without life. As the two get out of the pod they walk to water when they turn around there are two males standing by the woods...Trauhn and his friend Remmel. Trauhn is quick to claim Kenzie and suggests Remmel claim the other female. They agree to help find the other pods. For Trauhn if there are more females in the other pods, their tribe is saved from extinction. Kenzie is turned on and so is Jillian then their wrist adviser tells them that this tribe will go extinct if they don;t stay. Now the hunt for the other pods and women is on while the two friends fight their attraction to the two men. A very interesting story of survival and attraction. Fascinating story that will enthrall you till the last page.

Mmmmm. This one is tricky, did I enjoy the book? Yes sort of. will I read more by this author ? Maybe. Fans of mars needs women and insta mates with a horny h because “hot alien “ will enjoy this, it’s sweet in places and very hot. It has a good plot and some surprising twists. My beef with it, was Kensie’s callousness. If you stand this story on its head and make Trauhn the woman we’d be screaming murder at Kensie’s behavior.
He’s looking at her with his heart and soul in his eyes he’s telling her mate forevermore and she still thinks it’s a bootie call, even when he talks having babies she’s still thinking hot lay and move on. And for me the kicker was when she finds out she’s pregnant, she’s still not concerned about the fact his species is dying out, that he thinks she’s his forever, no she just hopes her buddy will help her raise a baby when she takes it away from him and goes home. But it’s an erotic sci-fi romp. So depth of character isn’t top of the list of importance, which is why I sort of enjoyed it.

This is a very light and fluffy story with no heavy lifting. When the book started I was somewhat intrigued but that quickly changed to a sigh once I realized this was pretty much a very light story with loads of sex and no real plot.
Ken-zee has crash landed on a planet that was supposed to be uninhabited but she and her capsule mate realize that the info is incorrect.
Trauhn thinks that Ken-zee is a gift from the gods since she came from the sky. Of course within seconds of seeing her she becomes his mate in his mind and from there on out we are subjected to both of their inner sexual monologues.
Both characters while one-dimensional are likeable enough. This is a story you can walk away from several times and pick it up and you won’t miss anything. It’s neither good nor bad just middle of the road forgettable.

Trauhn is a straightforward alien romance, perhaps because it’s insta-love on the part of the hero while the heroine is driven by unexpected lust. The tension in this story is less from the couple, who get along pretty splendidly, but from why Kenzie and the other girls in an alien education program emergency crash-landed just as their program was starting. That larger mystery is by far the most intriguing aspect of this book, and it looks like a fascinating thread to explore in future books in this series.
Considering the trauma she endures, Kenzie is pretty agreeable to all Trauhn proposes. And much of that is life-changing, so I found her acceptance a bit frustrating. There’s also a fascinating tease that Trauhn’s barbarian society is not as isolated and backwards as it appears at first glance. For that and for the underlying mystery of why the students were stranded on a very, very strange world, I’ll pick up additional books set in this world.
This is my first story by these authors and I want more! It was an entertaining and enjoyable story. The characters were interesting and relatable. Jillian and Kenzie were the best kind of friends with the way they complemented each other. Kenzie was all about the details and the function of things while Jillian is more about the technology part of things. Trauhn and Kenzie were sweet with how protective they were of each other. The serig sound terrifying. Remmel seemed like a jerk. Trauhn took Kenzie to Zavra who educated Kenzie about Trauhn's people which was very eye-opening. I liked how the story ended but I wanted more. I would call the ending a Happy For Now ending. I recommend reading this book.

Jillian and Kenzie crash land on an uninhabitable planet that should be impossible to survive on. Well that is until Trauhn and Remmel, Rakui warriors, stumble upon the females near water. Kenzie and Trauhn have an instant attraction which may have something to do with her TEASE bracelet going off. Jillian and Remmel have decided to go off to find the other girls while the two lovebirds head off for a waterhole and mating cave. Kenzie is eager to find away off the planet, that is until she quickly learns from the other Earth females that this may not be a possibility.
sample "That concludes our unit on the Teluk species anatomy and physiology. Any questions before we move on to local culture and cuisine?" "I have a question." I'm the one student of 12 who always has questions for the professors. After all, inquiring young minds want to know.
I loved this book! Kenzie is one of 12 college students, all women and human on a spaceship for Interstellar Education. They get hit by a solar storm and have to use the escape pods, they end up crash landing on an unknown planet. Trauhn is a Rakui warrior and when he sees the lights in the sky and the pods crash he gets a feeling in his gut that he has to go to it. As soon as Trauhn sees Kenzie he knows that she is his mate. Love the chemistry between Trauhn and Kenzi, great story line! If you love books like the Ice Planet Barbarians series you will love this book! I highly recommend. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

While out hunting Trauhn saw several flyers cross the sky. Feeling drawn to a certain one he rushes to find it. What he finds is the last thing he expects. Kenzie is one of several girls picked for a year of study in space when a space storm hits and everyone is ordered into life pods she never expected to crash into a primative planet. When she emerges from it she finds herself claimed as mate by a golden scaled warrior. This is the first book to a new series and I have to say I'm hooked, I can't wait for the next one out. This book has no cheating and though it does leave the answer to a larger puzzle open for future books it once in a HEA. She sees me staring at her and locks her gaze with mine. Her eyes, wide and surprised, are like green pools of beauty staring into my soul. In that moment, I know she is mine. The gods have answered my prayers, sending salvation from the heavens. My mate has arrived in the wingless flyer, and she is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen.
Get you a man like Trauhn who will hunt down your kidnappers to get you back, and smile at your gibberish because even though he doesn’t understand everything you say your enthusiasm is everything to him. He’s utter perfection!!

Kenzie is one of 12 female college students on a starship to spend a year on interstellar education. A storm causes them to crash on a primitive planet inhabited by barbarian aliens. When Trauhn sees Kenzie, the golden scaled warrior knows she is his mate – loved their chemistry!
This is Book 1 of a new Rakui Warriors series, and it’s off to an excellent start. The characters are very personable. The story line moved smoothly from the beginning to the end. With a new group of alien stories, the possibilities are endless!
I would recommend this story it's about Kenzee who is a student or at least she believes she is but the government has other plans for her and the females aboard the ship with her they're stranded on a supposed Undeveloped planet but there are native men here and then all of the sudden Kenzee's bio system announces she's in some sort of survival mode and she gets all hot and bothered for a certain native man so now they have to figure out why the government sent them to this planet and who is hiring mercenaries to abduct them it's a very interesting story plot and I'm excited to see the next book.
Kenzie didn't actually want her wildest fantasies to come true...
Kenzie is one of a dozen students in an amazing intergalactic study abroad program... learning about aliens, and getting to meet them, on 12 planets over the course of one year.
Unfortunately a storm messes up their ship, and the students are forced I to the escape pods, which crash on Trauhn's homeworld.
This done in one quick read is the beginning of a series, as such, it creates a Universe, does some interesting world building, and plants some really interesting seeds that I look forward to learning more about in future reads.
Trauhn and Kenzie were fated to meet. I gave this book 5 cups of steaming java for excellent storyline that flowed so well from beginning to end. There were some actions. , that kinda remind me of mashup movie of Indian tribes and rogue space cowboys. It has some humor as well as betrayal, but there's the romance brewing between Trauhn and Kenzie in a primitive way that is caveman-like but great chemistry between those two. I look forward to book 2, for Jillian, Kenzie's best-friend, and Remmel, who is Trauhn's friend/hunting tracker, make their debut.
What a great read. You can tell that there is a great deal more to come but this doesn't detract from the story. 12 human women are on a ship that crashes after an encounter with an asteroid belt. Trauhn, a Rakui hunter, feels a pull to one of the flying things that landed on his planet but doesn't know why until Kenzie emerges. Her symbiont implant goes into survival mode but what actually does that mean? I loved the characters and the speech. A couple of sections really made me laugh. It was a funny, enjoyable read and I am looking forward to the next one!
