Ok, so, you can pick up the very basics in 30 minutes, but you're going to need more time at the machine to make many of these. And to operate it without thread binding or snapping needles lol. But there are some fun beginner projects that work their way up to much more challenging projects.

This book is a great introduction to a lot of different types of fabrics and how to work with them. I also think this is a great book to introduce someone who is eventually interested in quilting. However, I wasn't interested in making any of the projects myself for my taste.

A very detailed explanation on how to use a simple sewing machine. I tried a couple of the projects and found them easy to follow, but there weren't very many I personally liked. However, that's a me thing, and I found the book overall to be a good first start!
