She’s the first woman to catch his eyes since his wife passed. Will a case of mistaken identity keep them apart?

Sky Emerson proved she’s worthy of making partner in her sister wedding planning business. Until one well-known, handsy groom steals an unsolicited kiss in front of the cameras. It not only crushes her dream, but forces her into hiding.

When Sky realizes she doesn’t have a way to pay for the last available room in the small, welcoming Vermont town, she devises a harmless lie to buy her time.

But can a lie really be harmless?

Carter Jensen likes his quiet, uneventful life in Monroe Falls. Widowed for seven years now, he’s content to stow away in his upstairs office, working with his antique maps and avoiding as many people as he can. But when an attractive travel writer shows up unannounced to write an article on his business, his solitude is threatened.

He’s determined to get rid of this city girl as quickly as possible, but the more time he spends with her, the more he wishes she would stay.

Will Carter reel her in? Or will his fear of letting down the ones he loves cause Sky to be the one who got away?

Jacqueline Winters has been writing since she was nine when she'd sneak stacks of paper from her grandma’s closet and fill them with adventure. She grew up in Small-Town Nebraska, and spent a decade living in beautiful Alaska. She writes contemporary sweet romances and contemporary romantic suspense.

She’s a sucker for happily ever after’s, has a sweet tooth that can be sated with cupcakes, and firmly believes sangria was possibly the best invention ever. On a relaxing evening, you can find her at her computer writing her next novel with her dog poking his adorable head out from beneath the desk.

This was such a great read. Short, but so sweet. Perfect novella if you have an hour or so to spare. You won’t want to put it down once you start it.

Sky the FMC is a wedding planner and gets caught on camera when the groom throws himself at her making it look like she had kissed him. With the groom being from a prominent family she had to escape town and hide out from the press. There she meets Carter who runs a small business and who’s been pining over his wife’s death several years before.

Will she convince Carter to let her interview him for a “fake” article about his business and his hometown. Will love find a way or will her miss givings cause him run as far away from her as possible? Read to find out!

Sky, a wedding planner, fled her hometown after a groom kissed her right before his wedding. Since her sister / boss froze her credit card, Sky made up a story to get a room in an inn. She met Carter and her lies continued growing...
Well, I am happy that I was not in Sky’s shoes. She did the best she could. Though it was not right, I liked her character and enjoyed this story very much.

I have had this book on my reading list for a while and it kept getting pushed aside. However, after reading it I wished I would have read it so much sooner!! This book was so adorable with how they learn to get over their fears and live the life they want.

Great story!
I think this is my favorite trope. I like many but this is my favorite. The main characters **can't** fall in love with each other. He won't leave his small town and her life is in the city. Besides, he's still mourning his wife, isn't he?

But...

Part of the A Sweet Small Town Romance series a well written story that held my interest throughout. Sky Emerson came to Monroe Falls, Vermont to try to get her life back together. A groom that was marrying someone else and she was helping her sister cater it, decided he wanted out of the wedding and kissed her. When she gets there she does not have enough money to pay for a room so she lies and tells Carter Jensen she is a travel writer. I enjoyed their story and seeing how they get their happy ending. Moose was my favorite character.
What a cute story this quick read was Sky a wedding planner was used by a jerk and now she in hiding for the time being in Monroe Falls and what is worse is she has no money. Carter Jensen is the owner of Darcy's he is also a widower. Their story was wonderful some hick-cups but it was so much fun to read. Looking for a cute romance this is the one to pick up. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

A short, quick read. I wish it was A full length book. However, what there was of it was good. I enjoyed it. The characters, their backstories, the settings, and the bumps along the way. It was all fun to read, just over too soon!
