School of Broken Dreams

Rate this book
Raven Academy has dark secrets and Adeline Jones is going to discover them all.

Since starting at Raven Academy, I've seen my fair share of strangeness, things I can't explain, things that shouldn't exist, but this...this is a new level of terrifying.

I no longer know who I am, but one thing's for sure. I love my guys. But my love might get us all killed.

I’m still intrigued but also frustrated with the series. I will finish it because I want to see how it ends. I do like the writing but don’t necessary love the storyline.

I just love this series. Every time I think I have things figured out, these two throw me for a loop and put me on a different path and I am left with my mouth hanging opening and wondering what are you going to do to me next? I started reading this book, thinking I would read a couple chapters, and the next thing I knew I was sucked in to the story so much that I just had to finish one more chapter, one more page until I had devoured the entire thing. Bravo ladies you have done it again ❤.
Adeline has some of her questions answered which only raises more questions that need to be answered. And Connor? The more I learn about him the more I feel like we haven't even scratched the surface of everything about him. And then we have my newest book boyfriend Braxton... I really need more about him and the others as well. I feel like we have only just begun to learn about them. I eagerly await to see where we go from here

I found myself skimming. I enjoyed the first two books, but this one was mediocre. It felt to ‘perfect’ with the guys. There were secrets, but the guys just loved everything about their ‘angel’. Adi was just too perfect in their eyes which usually does not bother me, but it bothered me here. I need drama, I need something. I felt there was nothing.

Very disappointing. I will not be reading book 4.

I ending up not feeling the connection between the teacher (Braxton) and Adi. It felt weird. In book 1 and 2, I felt their connection, but in this book it all felt forced.

This is my opinion. You may love this one.

Quite a bit of grammar errors and I’m just not okay with how she can forgive the guys so quickly but not Connor. The story is okay overall I guess. Kinda boring though.

Reads like a bad fanfiction of the first two. Characters act completely different, plot nosedives, and the writing tanks. Did the editor get fired?? Did one of the authors quit? I don't know, but whatever happened completely ruined the series.

Won't be continuing, despite how excited I was during the first two books. I'd give it another try if the authors release a rewrite, but I can't see myself picking up the series again in the future otherwise. The letdown of book three just hurts too much.

Really disappointed.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Whoa buddy this series is really getting good now!! Adeline has known something weird was going on at her new school but now she is finally getting some answers though they may not be what she thought. A fantastic series that really keeps you guessing as these two incredible authors throw one twist after another into the mix just to keep wondering. I so cannot wait for the next one!! I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

I read this whole series in a set, so I'm having some trouble directly separating the books. Therefore, I will have one long review for the series as a whole that I will post to each book. That means warning!! There are definitely some spoilers ahead.

I would argue that this book is bad, and that the entire series was bad. The writing is lacking, the plot is lacking, the exposition is not well explored.
I found myself confused while reading and also annoyed at how bad the writing was. This book genuinely feels like something you'd find online written by teenage girls who love reading/writing but haven't quite mastered or grasped how to create a well defined exposition.

I also found the book to be contradictory all around while reading it.
Take Adi, our FMC, for example. The book LITERALLY starts with her wanting to rob a store at gunpoint (fake gun, but ya get it) so that she can get money to help her father with his hospital bills since he has cancer. But then, everything turns around and she has an opportunity to go to an exclusive academy and the school is willing to pay for her father's medical expenses. She immediately gets so so sad about this, but it doesn't fit with the strong-willed girl we saw at the start who was willing to do anything for her father.

Adi's also contradictory as a character with how she flip-flops in her reactions in dealing with other students. Sometimes our homegirl has a backbone and won't take ANY shit from the people being rude. Other times she cowers and doesn't stand up for herself. So who is she? What's her real personality? She inevitably goes to confront the guys about what's going on at the school, and when she finds out, she doesn't fight them enough or ask enough questions. When she figures out what SHE is, she doesn't question anything enough. Like, miss girl... Your whole world has just been flipped upside down. You gotta address this...

As we get further into the series, it just gets worse. This series genuinely lacks any real worldbuilding or character development, and it just feels so stilted and uncomfortable and BORING while you read.
The guys are all so BLAH and the relationship growth is seriously lacking for me throughout.
Our major conflict at the end? So lame, so lackluster. Adi ends up in Heaven and meets her parents, and we get NOTHING here. No real information about where she is, what it's like, etc. We just know she's miserable. Like... fine, but give us something.

The story ends with Adi's soul in all of her guys and them meeting during her first day at the academy (with none of them having any memory of their previous life together). Meh.

By the time we get to the end of the series, I find myself hating it and regretting reading it.
2 stars all around, being generous.

I gave this series a fair shot because it seemed like a plot I would really enjoy. The lack of real world and character development made it a chore to even get this far though. I've read previous books by both these authors and found similar issues in this series I've had with their other works. So I'll probably abstain in the futur as their works seem to just not be my cuppa.

The fmc is a copy and paste of CR Jane's fmc from broken wings (I think is the title) girl from no where, no friends, no one likes, turns out to be super powerful and amazing and beautiful and all the boys love her (Mary Sue)

It's also so hard to believe that halfway through book three the fmc finds out about what she is but doesn't demand to know what the men are or how this paranormal world is set up? Why would you sleep with a dude without knowing wtf they are? AND the books are multi pov why do we not know what the guys are or what all exists in this world? The series is on the later half and we know nothing except what their chests look like in their shirts, it's very frustrating.

Like in previous books of young's I also found it hard to figure out which guy was which and what they looked like, hell even their personalities kind of switched around. There wasn't enough individual character development for me to even figure out who the guys were forget about why they all like each other. They barely spoke or had conversations. How can these people supposedly love each other when they've spoke less to each other than my son does to a stranger at the grocery store.

The writings not bad there's just not enough of it. Take one of your favorite series it may have been years since you read it but I bet you can name every main character give their physical descriptions and tell me their personalities. I can't even remember the fmc's name from this series much less what the guys looked like and I literally just stopped reading it.

This third novel definitely answers many questions that has been asked, while also delivering an amazing story. We are brought into a world unlike many things we have read before and it establishes some interesting concepts, unlike others of its kind.

We are finally told who or what are characters are, after the intense cliffhanger we were left with. We still have questions, but we're beginning to get many answers. Adeline is confused and trying to establish who she really is, while trying to understand her relationships. She really rallies the guys all around her to ensure that she is protected while also showing them how much they need her.

The ending of this book definitely sets up for a finale coming. It puts a lot of strain on our characters, but shows that together they can face a lot. I can't wait to read the conclusion to this series and if you haven't started it you should.

I don’t know whether to hug and love these boys, kill them or just sleep them up the side of their heads but that’s for later. We start the book with the events after Dixon’s attack on Mercy. The boys are all frazzled because Adi isn’t waking up but hey she had just been feed off and pretty decently. After the events Mercy leaves the school and Adi is still bullied by Clarissa that girl I’d like to do nasty things too. Anyway after the feeding they have pretty much confirmed that Adi is an angel and they let Adi know too. She returns to class only to feel strange and leaves class from there the story gets real interesting..... I can say that we see the boys working with Connor even if it only seems to be for Adi’s benefit and this occurs when we see all 7 on the run. Another book that draws you in and won’t let you go till it’s finished. Now to find out how it’s all going to end.......

Adeline finally gets some answers ... are they worth it though, or would it have been better If no one ever knew?

Adelines life is again turned upside down. She now knows, at least part of, what's going on, but she's not the only one looking for answers, and not everyone has pure intentions for her.

Again, a very well written book. It has a nice character buildup, and a very believable story - well, other than the supernatural part (no, I'm not revealing which supernaturals).

Where the first two books were filled with too many mysteries, this one reveals too much at once. That's the reason why I'm giving the book 4 stars. I wish the mysteries would have been solved little by little.

I absolutely loved reading this although for some reason it took me a while. i think its because the cover makes the book look almost sweet which is not at all my cup of tea. However i decided to give it a go as i love both authors and believe me it isnt as sweet as it first appears.
The storey continues to develop and it now a full on addition and i really cant wait for book 4 this series is brilliantly written with so many twists and turns plus secrets that you didnt see coming and plenty of sizzle

Love

I love this series. Yes, there are some spelling errors like others have said but I don't think it detracts from the story. I am loving reading about Adeline and learning more about her. Also, enjoyed reading about the guys and finding out about them. A cool twist to what they are. Conner is still a mystery about what he is but see how he will protect Adi no matter what. Can't wait to learn more about him. Can't stand Clarissa and hope she gets what's coming to her as well as Dante's dad.

After her attack Adeline knew what had been happening around. The proofs didn’t lie, the threat upon her was imminent and no one knew what to do. Liked how things get complicated without an answer in sight. Thrilling! The group of protectors grow, some secrets were revealed but still there are mystery about Adelina. Connor has me intrigued. Human or what? Not even the boys can say. Exciting scenes, suspense, interesting twists, some violence and passion.

Story is still intriguing

I will admit that this storyline does have me intrigued... but I don't understand how, with two authors and at least a few beta or ARC readers, there are so many typos and misuse of homophones! I also don't understand how the Kindle versions of these books are getting up there in price without that level of quality control. The errors remind me of the type you find in the 79 cent to 99 cent range.

Loved the book, just like the last 2.
I loved that she finally get some answers and that she finally gets that there is more to the school then she tought.
For me it is hard that the 3 books are only a couple of months. it feels much longer then that.
Even with that i love this series and cannot wait to read the next book.

Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance

I love love love this series. Adi is smart and brave and knows what she wants. I'm not sure about what Conner is; but Omg the other 5 are so panty melt and Alexander's bad boy attitude is so hot. I can't say much more without spoilers. I hope someone gives Clarissa what she deserves.

Fantastic Story!!!!!!!

Oh my, this series just keeps getting better and better. The drama and suspense throughout it adds such an amazing element to it that it keeps you guessing how the next twist and turn is going to happen. It is extremely well written and the characters have developed and grown greatly. This is one fantastic story and series that it is a must read.

just don’t know…

I’m slowly losing interest in this story. I won’t give up at this point as there’s only one more book but I really don’t have faith. The plot is there but the carry out is too slow, the characters haven’t even connected but somehow they’re in love? Hope the finale is better.

Quirky and fun read. Characters are interesting although I feel like I've missed a bit as the romance went from will they wont they to sexy times really quickly! I'm looking forward to finishing the series. Going to get the next book
