John Ashton (1964- ) is a former journalist and researcher.

In 1993, he began research into the Lockerbie bombing. In 2000, he teamed up with Ian Fergusson with whom he undertook a forensic study of the trial of Abdelbaset Al-Megrahi and Khalifa Fhima at the Scottish court at Camp Zeist in the Netherlands.

Ashton now runs his own copyrighting agency, Write Arm. He lives in Brighton, England with his family.

As a founder of an early-stage agency, John Ashton's perspective on the "Agency" model through his own first hand experience really cast a bright light on the area, saving one many years (or decades) of failure. His learnings, gives individuals the clarity needed to pursue not only an Agency of their own, but one that will last sun, sea & storms because of the crucial information in this book. A "to the point" well structured read- It is a MUST for Agency owners & potential Agency owners, equipping them with the reality of tangible knowledge that they will need to push through preconceptions and perceived limitations in this space.

Disclaimer: I've known John several years and consider him a friend. So I'm predisposed to like the book.

Luckily that's not a problem because this is a solid, practical book based on actionable experience. Even after 26 years of self-employment I picked up not only tips but a few business essentials which will improve the way I operate going forward.

This book is aimed squarely at people wanting to build an agency but a lot of it works for other sorts of business too. Recommended.
