An excellent history and science based graphic novel about Sue, the T-Rex that resides at the Field Museum in Chicago.

It tells the story of what Sue's life would have been like in the Cretaceous Period. How they would have hunted, raised kids, and survived.

It shows why Sue's such an important fossil too. All the marks on their fossilized bones that tell of fights, infections, and even arthritis that comes with old age.

The illustrations are beautiful and are great at showing/ explaining why Sue continues to captivate our collective imaginations 30 plus years after they were discovered.

My 3 year old loves dinosaurs and Sue is her favorite, so she had to get this when she heard about it and it’s quickly become one of her favorites. The art is good, and the bright colors really held her attention. Rechlin’s voice works well for this type of educational story. It never feels like he’s lecturing or talking down to the target audience. The story about how Sue’s skeleton may have ended up the way it did kept it fun as well. Not just for kids, either, as I was entertained and learned a lot.

I knew about Sue and a lot of these facts as I love dinosaurs. However this was really cool to see it visualized. I think would be a great book for classrooms to teach kids. Its really awesome.
