Authored by an ex KGB agent stationed in Washington. The author details that cat and mouse game played by KGB and FBI agents during the cold war and how bureaucracy and fear helped limit effectiveness of KGB agents.

Verhaal van een jonge, ambitieuze Rus die in Washington tewerkgesteld werd waar hij moest proberen Amerikanen te recruteren die belangrijke informatie over politiek, militaire en buitenlandse politiek van Amerika zouden willen overhandigen. Het gestuntel van de bureaucratie van de Russen is hemeltergend. Het is een wonder dat ze hier en daar nog een spion hebben kunnen recruteren. Hoe hoger in de top, hoe incomptenter, meer op macht belust en uit op materialisme.
Tegenvallend saai boek.
