“Here,” Tristan shrugged off his suit jacket and placed it on her shoulders. “Thank you, that was a very gentlemanly move.” Her voice was light and teasing. He snorted. “Despite my past indiscretions, I can be a gentleman.” “We should head back before we miss the fireworks.” Tristan nodded in agreement releasing her waist from his hands. Without a second thought he reached out and grabbed her arm pulling her back to him as she turned away. She fixed her mouth to question him but was abruptly cut off by the feel of his soft lips crushing hers. Hooking up with someone at a wedding reception is fine. Hooking up with your best friend’s ex-fiancé at a wedding reception wasn’t the nicest thing to do. After being roped into attending their mutual friends wedding, and spending the night talking, laughing, and flirting, Jasmine and Tristan find themselves tangled together in a way that they are eager to repeat. Unbeknownst to them Harper, Tristan’s ex-fiancée and Jasmine’s best friend, is back and when she learns about their kindling romance, her reaction is no less than explosive.

This is the story of Jazz and Tristan. First this author needs an editor badly. This is the third book of hers that I have read and an editor is needed for all of her work. Transition between paragraphs are horrendous, transition between thoughts are confusing. Superfluous characters, adding characters for additional words is off putting. Expanding on some secondary characters would be appreciated. Example Tristan has based most of his decisions on what his mom would like yet we don't know why. She is introduced at the end of the story and all we hear is her guilt,ok ?. Jazz has a rocky relationship w her cousin who objects to her dating Tristan because he was engaged several years ago to her friend Harper yet has no trouble dating Jazz's ex Jordan. Ugh. There is a decent story line, Jazz and Tristan hook up at a friend's wedding soon they are friends with benefits. However his ex fiancee comes back to town and chaos erupts.Harper has issues she went for outgoing and fun to clingy to eating disorder,to depression mental health should be handled better than turning them into a psychopath.
The craziness was amusing. There were a few gaps in my opinion. For instance, why did Harper wait 3 years to get revenge? I gather that seeing them together accelerated her plan but what was the trigger? On one page it’s said that she is bipolar, on the other page it says that there’s no mental reason for her behavior. The romance itself was somewhat boring. I realise that most people don’t do much but I would have expected more. At least more interesting conversations between Tristan and Jasmine, beyond what’s for dinner and how was your day. What are their hopes and dreams? Their values and desires?
Wrath from a woman scorned is a very dangerous thing, ... Jasmine didn’t expect that much wrath from her so called best friend when she and her best friend’s ex-fiancé became an item. Yes, it was kind of a girls code braker, but they didn’t do anything wrong. A heart wants what a heart wants! Simple, right? wrong, they will have to overcome lots of hurdles to get their HEA. Find out for yourself!
This was a great book and the characters were very entertaining. Loved the chemistry between Tristan and Jasmine it was smoking hot 🔥! The journey Ms Quin takes the reader on was remarkable and the drama and suspense riveting enough to keep you reading. Harper was bat shit crazy and she was determined to hurt everyone she felt did her wrong. This was a good book and I highly recommend this book to my fellow romance readers you will not be disappointed.
I made myself read the whole but but this was just an okay read for me. I really didn't understand Harper's mindset to take drastic measures against Jasmine and Tristan when they had been broken up for years and she wasn't really friends with Jasmine anymore. Well, at least everything worked out in the end for Tristan, Jasmine, and Krista.
Some not all , but some of the things in this book makes me wonder is this one of the works that start off with “ The names have been changed to protect the innocence.” Excluding Jonathan and his cronies, the rest was some need to leave high school in high school situations. Too real life! Editing could have been better.
