An Amish Christmas Bakery story by bestselling author Amy Clipston
As Christmas draws near, Alyssa Byler dreams of a window display for the bakery where she works. When she decides to design and build a sugar cookie nativity scene, all she needs is the right cookie cutters--and handsome blacksmith Kyle Smoker is the one she asks for help. Using Kyle's handmade cutters, Alyssa creates a striking display that brings more tourists to the bakery than she can handle. And when shoppers request handmade cookie cutters of their own, Kyle finds himself overwhelmed by the demand. As Christmas approaches, Alyssa realizes she's been too caught up in work to focus on the true meaning of Christmas--and too distracted to explore the feelings she has for Kyle. Together, they put aside the holiday rush and spend their time celebrating the season that has brought them together.

This is a sweet Amish Christmas romance with a deceptively simple but profound message. I read it quickly, but I found myself pondering its message for over a week now. There is a nugget of wisdom here that I realized I need to apply. If you’d asked me about this on the day I read this short novel, I would have said that it is just light an interesting reading. I was wrong about that.
Please note that if you are looking for this book through the National Library Service for the blind, it is available as a four book collection called Amish Christmas bakery. On other services, you can get it as a standalone book or as part of that compilation. At least, that is what I have observed from the services I use. I haven’t checked Apple Books to see how it works.
I just absolutely love Amy Clipston's writings. God has truly given Amy great talent and she gives full glory to God through her stories. I truly enjoyed this sweet short story of Christmas traditions and love of each other, but more importantly, of Jesus Christ our Savior. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a wonderful read! You will feel like you're right in Lancaster County.
This is a cute but very trite little book. There is no conflict until the last 30% and then everything is solved in short order after an apology. This was my first amish-themed book and assumed they were all like this until I continued to read "Loaves of Love" by Beth Wiseman (from the same Amish Christmas Bakery ebook).
Alyssa is a baker for a local business. She loves to bake but us also very artistic. She has come up with a wonderful idea for the bakery window but needs some help from Kyle, an Amish iron worker. They grow a relationship but what happens when she gets caught up in the business during the holidays. A nice read.
This was a cute novella with a great message about taking the time to slow down and focus on the true meaning of Christmas during the Christmas season. 3.5 stars.
Cookies and Cheer by Amy Clipston Alyssa this season starting right after Thanksgiving includes her working at home first, then at the bakery among redesigning the front window display for the shop. Her window designs are unique and she gets the owner to ok her design for Christmas. She then asks Kyle the metal worker in town if he could help her make cookie cutters. The newspaper gets wind of it and makes a story headline and puts the shop with so much business it makes Alyssa run out of time most days to get much else accomplished. She's about falling asleep on her feet and has not done gifts or helping at home or even spending dinner with the family. She is also been out to dinner with Kyle and with his family at their house. Love that the cutters are such a hit and so different from normal ones. She realizes that not only can they sell the cookies with scriptures but also cutters until Kyle can no longer make them-for this season cuz he's so busy with his own family work. She realizes it and makes everybody happy with how she divides her time... Wish there were recipes. great short story..
Cookies and Cheer is a heartwarming story set at Christmas time written by Any Clipston. This story is a great rendering of how people can loose track of what is important at Christmas. The characters are very likeable and realistic. The storyline moves at a great pace keeping the readers interest. This story has a very important and inspirational message wound throughout the pages The author has done an exceptional job delivering this message.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to other readers.
Congratulations to Amy Clipston on writing such and inspirational story for her readers enjoyment.
I love when Amy Clipston writes about baking - one of my favorite things to do. And I absolutely love Christmas cookie baking, so I knew this novella would be right up my alley. And I sure was not disappointed at all. I loved watching Alyssa and Kyle's relationship grow from business to something more. And I found it interesting that a blacksmith could and would make custom cookie cutters. That was really neat. This sweet novella is a perfect read for the holiday season. Grab some Christmas cookies, find a corner to crawl up in, and enjoy Amy's story.
Another amazing book by Amy Clipston! I loved hearing about the cookie cutters and the window nativity display that Alyssa made. She gets caught up in the busyness of the bakery. The story shows the importance of helping those around you and also spending important time with your family honouring your family traditions and enjoying the time with family. Most importantly asking God what to do in certain situations instead of trying to fix things on our own.
Kyle & Alyssa’s story is a wonderful sweet Christmas read. After admiring each other from afar for years, a project for Alyssa’s bakery job brings them the perfect reason to connect. Amy Clipston does a wonderful job of keeping you guessing about what’s coming next as you follow this sweet duo. Will they survive an extremely busy Christmas season together?
This book was very well written, the characters were amazing, and reminds us in the midst of a busy season, we are to remember why we celebrate...Jesus' birth. Very good, and I can't wait to read more from Clipson.
