Everyone thinks Carter is a jerk, even his teammates on the football team. The guy runs the locker room like they’re in the military, scowls at everyone on and off the field, and never, ever socializes with anyone at FU High. If Mallory had known any of this, maybe she wouldn’t have hidden in his car that night after the Championship game but she was on the run and it was the first car she came across that was unlocked. But she didn’t know and now Carter won’t let her leave.


He says she’s a hassle but every time trouble comes around, Carter’s the first one to defend her. For a guy who says he hates people, he sure is nice to Mallory. She doesn’t know what to make of it, or him. He’s a wildcard, but, then again, so is Mallory. Perhaps the two of them are meant to be together. Carter seems to think so.

Love a grumpy hero!

Carter was such a grump and I like that Mallory sassed right back to him. They were a cute couple and this was a fun high school love story.

I absolutely adored this book. I was so curious about Carter after reading book one and his story didn’t disappoint. Both Carter and Mallory both had lonely somewhat messed up childhoods. My heart broke for Mallory and what she endured living with her mother. I understood her pain and why she acted the way she did. She put on a game face and was always ready for battle. Carter also put on a game face but for different reasons. He hated that people only wanted him for his money and kept people at arms length to avoid getting hurt.
I loved how these two fed off one another and quickly got underneath each other’s skin. Carter was adamant in the beginning to not want or need a woman in his life but quickly changed his tune after spending time with Mallory. She chipped away at his control, broke his rules and drove him crazy but he absolutely loved it. These two were perfect together. They brought out the best in each other and got the other to live outside their comfort zone and try new things. They each brought hope into each other’s lives. I also loved Owen and Aly in this story too, they are always so sweet.

Completely safe. h’s mother’s boyfriend was a pervert and creepy towards her. She ran away because he wanted sex from her. No ow drama. Both virgins. No abuse.

Mí humilde opinión:

Carter es un idiota arrogante, no tiene amigos, no los quiere pero es popular a pesar de todo. Es el mariscal de campo y mientras dure la temporada de fútbol dirige el equipo con reglas estrictas.

Lo único que le importa es su auto por lo que se sorprende cuando después de un partido se encuentra a una chica durmiendo dentro.

Mallory está huyendo del nuevo novio de su madre y su acoso.

Solo quería un lugar para dormir antes de seguir su camino. Cuando un chico la descubre en su auto y la echa furioso, ella decide que no le hará caso. Es más, no puede evitar enojarlo y ser tan idiota como lo es él con ella.

De alguna manera termina en la casa de Carter. Él es de un mundo diferente, tiene dinero, prácticamente su familia es dueña del pueblo.

Él le da su sofá y la alimenta, no puede confiar en él pero poco a poco lo va conociendo y él no es tan malo como pensó que era.

Carter no puede ganar con Mallory, se atrevió a llamarlo Douce, lo hizo reír, cocinar, la llevó en su auto...

Nadie logró llegar a él como ella. Todo lo que quiere es quedarse con ella, protegerla, solo tiene que convencerla de que deje de huir.

Mallory y Carter no podían ser más perfectos y lindos juntos!

Me encantó su historia, más que la de Fast y Ely.

Carter no se enamora de Mallory inmediatamente sino que sucede de a poco. Se dan cuenta de que a pesar de ser de mundos distintos tienen cosas en común.

Me reí montón con sus cruces de palabras. Mallory le contesta y que no le tuviera miedo y lo enfrentara me gustó de ella.

A mí Carter me había gustado desde el libro anterior y estaba emocionada por leer su historia.



Tiene un carácter de mierda y es tan gruñón que lo hace atractivo y como Mallory dan ganas de pincharlo para enojarlo peor!

Hasta ahora este es el libro de la serie que más disfruté.

Y el epílogo? Porque tan cortito? Quería más de Carter y Mallory.

Love me some cranky Carter!

Carter is a rich jerk. He meets Mallory when she sneaks into his c car to hide and takes a nap. He tries to kick her out, but ends up keeping her instead. He is still a jerk at the end of the book, but a loveable one...at least to Mallory.

When Mallory finds the unlocked car sitting in the parking lot of the school, she gives in to temptation and crawls inside. She's so tired and just needs to rest for a bit.

When the school quarter back Carter goes to climb into said car he finds an unexpected surprise. He's not one for surprises or kind gestures. He's closed off and can be a bit of an ass but with her? Not so much. There's something about this girl that has him hooked. And he does not plan on letting her go ever.

Mallory though may put on a brave front and try to come across as a tough girl but shes not. She's never had anyone she could rely on. Her home life is not the best and running away was her only option. What she didn't expect though is to run right into her future.

A steam filled read, with a guaranteed happily ever after.

FINALLYYYY!!  We get Carters book we met him in the last last book and well he was antisocial and coldish towards everyone that he didn't care for.. he was always football and his car. Until one night he has a stole away in the backsteat of his car.. now when these two meet it isnt happy since she broke into his car they have this sassy banter against one another and he questions why shes in his car.

Mallory has a rough life mom has bf in and out of her life and is sorta dirt poor also has her mothers newest bf wanting her.. so she does what any woman would do run away.

Mallory and Carter sexual tension is high with the teases and heated looks and we see Carter coming out of ways only for his girl. But they have drama still with her moms current boyfriend... and Carter shall make sure no one touches or takes away his woman.

No ow drama slight om (moms creepy bf)  no cheating, drama,  slight secondary chara, both virgins

I am so very happy Ms. Goode decided to give us Carter's story. I LOVED it, hard. He was so growly and closed off but when it came to lovely Mallory, he was perfection. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I loved this book. Carter and Mallory were such a great couple. The chemistry between them was so good. They complimented each other so well. The banter between them was so good. I found myself smiling many times at their antics. I am not sure why I haven't read more from her earlier.

Loved Carter and Mallory's story! He had such a grumpy personality that when you look up jacka%% in the dictionary, you find Carter's picture. Yet when Mallory comes into his life, he turns into an OTT Alpha just for her. Mallory is a sweet and beautiful woman who doesn't mind going toe to toe with Carter. Their romance is phenomenal and the chemistry is steamy sweet!! This is a short, sweet and sassy romance read. I enjoyed reading their love story, just wish this story was longer.

This was a cute followup story this time featuring the mysterious but assholish character Carter. And I'll admit he really is a D&ck. Even to Mallory when they first meet but then again who would naturally be nice to someone they find hiding out in their car. Mallory is escaping a bad home situation and she just happened to pick the wrong car but with her stubborn nature she weaves her way into Carter's life and it's what they both need. While Carter initially is not the most likable character, his infatuation, obsession and love for Mallory really changes him. Living a rich life where everything comes easy for him, finding a stow-away in his car is just the distraction he needs. I enjoyed the banter between the two especially how Mallory kept making decisions for him, like throwing parties etc, things he hates and never does. But for Mallory there's nothing he won't do. Cute short read.

Mallory estaba desesperada por escapar de su casa antes de que algo malo sucediera. Cuando encontró un coche abierto solo quería descansar un rato, lo que no esperaba era encontrarse con un desagradable pero muy atractivo imbécil que además era el dueño del coche.
Carter es muy supersticioso así que que alguien toque su coche y encima se coma su barrita de chocolate, es un crimen! Pero esa pequeña luchadora va a darle a Carter mucho que pensar.

Que puedo deciros que no os diga siempre de los libros de esta autora. Me encantan, los protagonistas son adorables y dulces y les como la carita ❤️
Esta muy bien es cortita, poco drama y final feliz. Lo que se necesita para un ratito y para descansar

Ella knows how to write a Goode story (do you see what I did here)?
This short novella was sweet, full of action and simply beautiful. We had a character change, we had drama, we had money and sex... But... Yes... I have a butt. They were 18 and 19. Even though legal, I still felt like they're not mature enough to behave the way they did. Or at least they shouldn't.
Have you ever heard of a 19 year old, who is faithful, richer than most, virgin with no want to try things (and I am not even talking about girls)? Add a fucked up past but the kid still comes out perfect. Nah.
Other than that it was a nice read.

I was NOT expecting to love this book this much! I thought I would get a decent 3-star safe book but wowwww it just ticked all my boxes for me.

- Virgin MCs who are each other's one and only
- Strong h who wasn't afraid to give the H shit
- Rich alpha hero who is a jerk to everyone but h
- Badass hero and we actually get to SEE him being badass instead of just being told about it
- Novella but there was actual build-up!
- 100% safe book that I read with a smile on my face the entire time

Read this on KU but definitely buying for my collection. Highly recommend!!

We first met Carter in Ace of hearts. What I originally thought as Carter just being completely focused on football turns out to be a lot more complex. Carter is a total ass until he meets his match in Mallory.
I loved this book. The characters wonderful. I would highly recommend it. I read an advanced copy of this book.

Deuces Wild was packed with many scenes I adored. The story was kind of a slow-burn with a lot of spice. I loved both characters and the fact they made me laugh.
