Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.
I'm a former firefighter/EMS guy who's picked up the proverbial pen and started writing bad boy romance stories. I co-write with my sister, Ali Parker, but live in Texas with my wife, my two little boys, my daughter, two dogs, three cats, and a turtle.
Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.
You're going to find Billionaires, Bad Boys, Military Guys and loads of sexiness.
Something for everyone, hopefully. I'd love to connect with you. Check out the links below and come find me.
I chose this book because of the premise, a spunky single mom finds a job with grumpy rich boss. I lost interest halfway through when they had sex without protection. Willow was written as a street smart, hard working mom. It was unbelievable to me that she didn’t have any discussion or regrets about unprotected sex. Even though he told her on her first day of work that he has one night stands, they never discussed birth control. They just went on their way and oops, it happened a few more times without any discussion. These characters are not teenagers but are in their 30s, what?
Also, the writing is very stilted and their characters didn’t have much depth or back story. I finished it out of stubbornness and I wanted to give this new to me author a fair chance, but I didn’t enjoy the writing style enough to read more of his works. At least there was a HEA and no cheating.
I really liked this book, but I thought that it could have been a bit longer.
I liked Ashton and Willow, and how they got to know each other. I really liked how the scenes where Willow spends time with her son, Jake, are shown. I did think that there could have been more scenes showing Ashton spending time with Willow and Jake on a day off.
I liked the side characters, Lilly and Kyle, when they were shown. I thought that there could have been more scenes where Ashton actually gets to know his friend.
I liked how this book was written, and I definitely want to try more books by this author.
I genuinely love Weston Parker's writing. He writes stories that are heartwarming, have a great storyline, well-developed characters, some drama, secrets, humor, sizzling chemistry, lots of emotions, and hot scenes.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
4* Ashton has just fired his secretary and learns his friend/ business partner wants out on the same day. Willow is a single mum who has just lost her job after leaving work to see her sons teacher things are about to get harder. Overhearing their conversations she puts herself forward for the job, Ashton is adamant not! He's in for a shocking surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book I loved the fact Willow was strong and stood up for herself
The author brings an opposites attract romance between CEO Ashton and his newly hired secretary and single mom,Willow. He does a great job building the story and pulls you in with all the emotions as well as the humor throughout. I loved watching the sparks fly between them and enjoyed watching them come together. It's well written with detailed scenes, moves quickly and smoothly and had me hooked from start to finish. I loved and highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I could not put this book down, love the character development and the calming effect the h had on her boss. At all times keeping her priorities straight, where her son was concerned. She is a spitfire and a no nonsense lady and he is very serious in all he does. This is a very good book, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy! Happy to have found another author to follow and read. Thank you!
I ended up enjoying this book, but I struggled to get into it at first. Ashton's character came across a little weak at times, but it was Willow's character I had difficulty with. She was rude and condescending where I imaged the intention was that of a feisty woman. I didn't like how she ordered Ashton around nor some of the terms she used on him, i.e. calling him "sweetie" on the first day of the job and saying things like: "Well, now was that so hard?"
On her first day too, she ordered lunch for him, but also ordered something for herself and sat down to eat in his office while he was on the phone. He verbalised his dissatisfaction so she berated him for not "eating in between bits of conversation." When he attempted to call her out for being rude, her answer was a simple shrug with "You have to eat. I have to eat. This is food. Let's eat."
I appreciated the inclusion of dealing with bullies, it was well written and deserved the spotlight. Jake was a wonderful little boy, really loved that he got his wishes in the end.
Ashton And Willow's Heartwarming Story Will Make You Laugh And Bring Tears To Your Eyes. Ashton's Pain Is Palpable. Stick With It For A Beautiful Ending!
Ashton Wolfe, thirty-four, firmly believes that if you want the best, you must look the best. Dress for success. He took that idea and worked on it for the past decade, turning it into the third biggest tailored suit company in the country since it hit the market just three short years ago. The founder and CEO of Wolfe Tailored Suits isn't satisfied with his success. He plans to continue to grow his business throughout his working days.
The millionaire is considered one of San Francisco's most eligible bachelors, and he can turn on the charm when he wants to. But just as many women are attracted to his natural bad boy vibe - until they realize that he really is a mean-spirited jerk that has zero concern for how miserable he makes those around him. He isn't terribly into women. He dates on occasion and enjoys the physical pleasures of a woman's company, but he doesn't do relationships. He doesn't ever want a wife and kids. He doesn't even have friends, other than Kyle, who has a small stake in the company and has worked with him the last three years. He has his business and a big empty house and he likes it that way. Nobody has ever stuck with him. Ever. He has no family. He learned at a young age to shut everyone out because it is easier than experiencing the betrayal when they leave.
Willow Patting, thirty, is a busy extrovert without a filter and never without a good comeback line. She doesn't let anyone push her around. She has to be strong. She struggles as a single mother of nine year old Jake. Jake's father disappeared once she told him she was pregnant, and it has been just her and Jake since. She hadn't come from wealth and didn't have a family to support her, but she did have her uber wealthy friend Lilly who was always there for her whether she needed a sitter or just to talk. Lately Jake has been the target of bullies, and when Willow is called to school for an emergency once again, she is fired for leaving her waitressing job mid shift.
Desperate for a new job, Willow stumbles into a secretary job with a one year contract - a dream come true. Kyle Dobbins hires her to be his partner's new secretary, with specific instructions for her to be herself and not be intimidated by Ashton. When she shows up on day one she discovers that Kyle has already left the company and Ashton is not at all happy to have her working for him. But with her job guaranteed for one year and Kyle's instructions in her head, she doesn't hold anything back with Ashton.
Ashton and Willow's relationship as employer and employee is far from traditional. She infuriates him and talks his ear off to the point of speechlessness. He hardly knows how to respond to her when she so often speaks to him like a mother might to her child. Yet over time Ashton becomes attached to her, and she sees behind the walls he has constructed. Slowly Ashton begins to get past his aversion to change and sees Willow as the beautiful woman she is. When they cross the line, they try to convince themselves that it is strictly a workplace romance. Nothing personal. But Willow is a mother, and Ashton never wants a family. When Ashton learns she is a mom, they have to address the stubborn elephant in the room.
Ashton and Willow's heartwarming story will make you laugh and bring tears to your eyes. Ashton's pain is palpable, while Willow's thick skin and ability to bring him outside of his comfort zone, to release his feelings, is therapeutic for him. She sees bits of Jake in him, so she can't help but want to be nurturing. They eventually earn a tearful happy ending.
There are several issues that merit mention. *Spoilers* First, Ashton sent a hooker to Kyle's house once as a prank, which implies comfort on a personal level existed between them. This doesn't jive with Kyle's observation that in three years of working together he has learned nothing about Ashton. Certainly they would have a history that bonded them and gave him insight into who Ashton was. Second, Ashton was lacking in people skills, yet he walked into one of his shops and managed to very smoothly sell two suits, and can apparently charm women. So it is sometimes difficult to reconcile the two sides. Third, Ashton can't place a woman who claims to be his baby mama, but later, without explanation, remembers that she used him for sex. Finally, the story drags for a while. The end, however, makes it a very worthwhile read!
Ashton and Willow's story shows how a broken man with walls mile high can learn what love is from a no-nonsense mouthy single mom. The story is nicely written. The plot is fairly simple. The story is character-driven with well-developed characters. Ashton's character is deep; seeing his evolution will have you in tears. Willow's steady determination is exemplary. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Ashton and Willow. I rate this book four stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
CEO Ashton Wolfe, all alpha male, thinks he is unlovable after his awful childhood and very successful billionaire is completely 'rattled' when his partner decides that he wants to leave the partnership and work elsewhere. Ashton never saw it coming. He was the nearest he had to a friend in his life and he really depends on him to do the social interaction aspect of the business. But when they're discussing Kyle leaving they are approached by a young woman who hears them saying that Ashton needs a new secretary as he's just fired the previous one. Willow is a single Mum to Jake [who is a great kid]and she desperately needs a new job having been fired herself because she had to keep leaving work to go to Jake's school where he is being constantly bullied. Ashton is NOT impressed by the feisty young woman coming and offering to be his secretary, even if he does think that she's gorgeous. But Kyle talks to Willow and, as he has already told Ashton that he will find a secretary for him, he employs her then and there as he recognises that she's a single mum who needs and wants to work. Imagine Ashton's shock when Willow turns up to report for work the next day! But he can't fire her as he has signed a deal with Kyle that he cannot fire her for twelve months! This is a fabulous story by Weston Parker. It's one that made me laugh, cringe a time or two [I loved when Willow showed up the three slimy creeps] as well as smile and I did have concern for my kindle heating up with the steaming scenes between these two passionate people. The chemistry between them is palpable and there are, of course, some twists and turns that make the storyline all the more interesting. As for her best friend -well we all need a best friend like her !!! I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. Grab a copy for yourselves asap! Most Definitely Recommended.
Absolutely loved it! Ashton is like a cocoon and Willow is going to help him spread his wings.
This is such an entertaining book. You can just see the changes in Ashton‘s personality as the book reveals it. Monday morning is Willow’s first day as secretary to Ashton Wolfe. Ashton hardly ever speaks and Willow is a snarky single mother of a nine-year-old boy. She is a cross between Chatty Cathy, the doll, and the energizer bunny. She is driving Ashton mad. She is too happy for him and has too much energy. He gets tired just watching her zip around all over the place. All he wants is quiet so he can work. She barges in his office without knocking, doesn’t take any bull from him, and is perfect for him. Just like Kyle said right before he quit. It takes a great woman or the perfect woman to bring down a man like Ashton. Ashton is so out of his league with Willow. Ashton is living in his big bubble that no one has ever penetrated. He keeps to himself and has no tolerance for slackers. He has never been around a woman like her and he has always kept to himself and just worked, worked, worked. She challenges him in ways he has never been challenged before and he is not sure if he likes it or not, but when she is not there, he misses her.
This book is great. It is hilarious. Willow is going to take care of Ashton whether he wants her to or not. She is going to take him down big time. You will be saying “you go girl“ before the end of this book. Absolutely superb.
First thing I want to say is that I’ve come to love Weston Parker’s books. They are so good you don’t want to put it down!
Ashton just fired his new assistant. It seems that he can’t find anyone to do the work he needs. He came from nothing and built his business in expensive men’s clothing to several stores. His colleague hires a new assistant for him with one condition, he can’t fire her for a year.
Willow is always struggling to make ends meet. Now she just got fired from her waitressing job and if wants to not get evicted, she needs a job fast! Then it seems an angel was sent to help her. This gentleman offers her his card and asks her to come in the next day for an interview. Little did she know that she would be working for the most handsome but grumpiest man she’s ever met.
Ashton has to admit his new assistant is working out well, but she doesn’t shut up! She barges into his office without knocking, doesn’t take any of his BS, and just laughs it off. Lately he actually enjoys coming into the office just so he can talk to her. When their relationship changes into more sexual encounters, Ashton is very upfront letting Willow know there is no future for them. This is just an office fling. When the unthinkable happens, Willow quits unexpectedly and Ashton is besides himself.
I won’t add anymore so I don’t give anything away. However, you must read this book!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SPRING IT ON ME" This is very interesting, entertaing storyline Weston Parker did a great job with the characters I loved there personalities. Ashton Wolfe was raised in the foster care system he worked his way up he's one of the richest millionaire bachelor's and CEO of Wolfe Tailored Suits but he's not satisfied with the business he wants more his partner Kyle Dobbins has been with him for yrs. Ashton fires his secretary Cheryl because she sent her nephews to see him without his approval he hates when people use him and that's what she did for her family Kyle thought he was a bit harsh that's the third secretary fired in a yr. they go to lunch and that's when Kyle says he's leaving got another offer from a company he couldn't turn down Ashton was shocked. Kyle hires Willow Patting to ve Ashton secretary before he leaves a one yr. contact where Ashton can't fire her he doesn't like her at first. Willow is strong feisty and takes no hill from anyone especially Ashton who isn't a people person, moody, and can be mean spirited bur the more they work together he begins to become attracted to her they eventually cross a line their chemistry ad opposites attract is team hot. I definitely recommend to get this book there so much to this story you'll love it and the connection between Ashton and Willow its a great read I thoroughly enjoyed.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Ashton and Willow. Ashton is a successful businessman who owns a company that makes tailored suits. Ashton is kind of a jerk and is very closed off and doesn't have any family or friends, although his business partner is the closest he has to a friend. When Ashton fires another secretary, he knows he has to hire another one and when he is in a coffee shop with his partner, Willow overhears and approaches them, telling them they should hire her. Willow is a single mother to a 9 year old son and needs to find work after losing her job because she had to leave to go to his school. Ashton refuses to talk to Willow, but his partner thinks she is who Ashton needs. He arranges Willow to get the job and for Ashton to be unable to fire her. Willow and Ashton start to work together and soon sparks fly, but Ashton is still closed off and doesn't want anyone to get close to him. Ashton also tells Willow he does not want children, and things get complicated when he finds out she has a son. I loved this story. I loved Willow, she was a great mom and could handle anything life threw at her. I love how she wouldn't allow Ashton to get away with anything and treated him like he was acting like a spoiled child. I laughed at Ashton at times. I think they were great together. I hated to see this book end. Great story.
It still blows me away how much I enjoy Weston Parker books, no offense Mr. Parker. However, while I love the writing style, I did not love the pregnancy plot in this. It's not that I am against pregnancy plots, I just don't like them when I feel like if you were to take out the pregnancy, the couple wouldn't have stayed together. Had Willow not gotten pregnant, she still would have been offered a new job, and Asher's cold defense mechanism would have insured that they wouldn't have seen each other ever again. Also the flip from "I hate kids. I hate families. I never want a family." to "I can't believe we're having a baby! We're going to be a family!" was just too jarring. I felt like I skipped a chapter where Asher started to make the transition from, "I hate kids," to "oh wait, I just have emotional trauma from being an orphan." There should have been an adjustment period for Asher, but it all felt rushed. All that to say I did love Asher and Willow's chemistry and it was nice to read a book with more mature characters. And of course, the best character in the entire book, Jake.

Ashton is CEO of upscale men's clothier, a curmudgeon in real life who doesn't know how to make or keep friends. He grew up in foster care after being orphaned early in life, never learning social skills to have an emotion other than initial anger over any situation he had no control over...then his partner, who was leaving his business after three years, saying he needed new secretary after firing current, made contract where Ashton had to keep secretary for one year...with Willow getting the job...she was single mom with nine year old and Ashton not happy with her, but she stayed and he couldn't fire her. She went through his papers, straightened and organized his life until he started noticing and appreciating her...and... noticing her went beyond her secretarial skills to a more personal level...but you will need to read this cute story of a tantrum-throwing boss and his stable, ready for anything employee...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
Loved it - I loved this story. I read this book as part of an arc program but enjoyed it enough to buy a copy as well. This story is about Ashton and Willow. Ashton is a successful businessman buy he’s also a big jerk. He close minded with very little friends. When Ashton fires another secretary, Willow hears him talking about having to hire another and approaches them, telling them they should hire her. Willow is a single mother to a 9 year old son and needs to find work after losing her job because she had to leave to go to his school. Ashton refuses to talk to Willow, but his partner thinks she is who Ashton needs. Of course, sparks fly once they get to know each other but Ashton is stubborn and pig headed. Ashton also tells Willow he does not want children, and things get complicated when he finds out she has a son. A complicated but compelling story. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the author.
I dare you to read this book without wanting to wrap your arms around the surly, rude and arrogant Ashton Wolfe who has, by his own admission, no friends, no who wants to be his friend and no one will ever love him.
Pretend for a moment you are single mom, Willow fired from yet another low wage job because you had to be there for your son. You come to work for Ashton in an unusual way and find managing him to be about the same as a 9 year old boy - only he’s most definitely all man.
This time when Weston Parker gives us our bad boy, it turns out he’s been convinced by life experiences he’s bad when he’s really loving, intense and wildly passionate. Our good girl Willow sees right through him, never forgets she has to protect her and her son’s heart but has those arms that ache to embrace Ashton until he stops protecting himself from her.
I loved the book for its story and Weston Parker’s skillfully complex characters whose layers are slowly peeled away.
I've read many of Weston Parker's stories and love his style of writing. In this story he weaves humor into the story as Ashton is forced to take on a secretary not of his own choosing...one he's not allowed to fire for a year, and one who doesn't back down from his domineering and reactive personality. She's a single mom, with a son who is struggling in school against bullies. She's determined to make the job work. I find it funny how she treats Ashton much the same way she treats her 9 year old son. She's tough and doesn't back down, and calls Ashton out when his behavior is ridiculous. Plenty of scenes that made me laugh, and also ones that made me sad. Ashton keeps a wall up because he doesn't think he is lovable. Thankfully for him, Willow and the closest thing he has to a friend, Kyle, disagree and are determined to prove him wrong. Willow's son pulls on your heart strings, as well. A well-written story about the road to HEA.
Loved Willow and Ashton. Ashton is lacking i. People skills and needs to hone in on figuring out how to fix it. When he fires his secretary his partner goes ahead and hired a new one, making sure he can’t fire her for a year. Willow is smart, sexy, knows what she wants and won’t take anything crap from Ashton, and this annoys him to no end. His life was not easy, but you can’t continue to live in the past thinking bad things are going to happen. The little things Willow does for him, he starts to see her in a new light and feelings are starting to creep up. Can he really have the life that everyone else has, someone to love him and a family? Sparks are there and chemistry, but do you act on it or co to us on the path you set for yourself? Great read, another amazing book by this author. I received a copy of this book.
Ashton is a successful business man with little patience for any of this last secretaries. Through losing his business partner, he must accept a secretary of his partner’s choosing and keep her for at least a year.
Willow is a single mom who is doing everything she can to give her son a good life. A chance encounter lands her a secretary job that has the hours and security that she needed.
Willow and Ashton started off on the wrong foot but they learned to accept each other’s differences and find a connection that was more than just business. Willow showed Ashton that there’s more to life than work, and that his past doesn’t dictate his future. While Ashton could be a little cold and uncaring, Willow made up for it with a huge personality.
I was given an ARC of this novel for an honest review.
Ashton and Willow were wonderful characters and it didn't take long to fall in love with them. Willow was a no nonsense firecracker and he was a lovable jerk. Their chemistry was explosive and over the top. She was just what he needed but didn't know it. In fact he had no interest in a relationship, a family or anything permanent. He had lots of scars from junkie parents and years in abusive foster homes. The characters were well developed with lots of depth and personality. Willow and her precious son Jake were just what Austin needed in his life. Willow was a strong personality who didn't take any of Ashton's mess and made him soon realize that what he didn't think he wanted was exactly what he needed. A new baby boy and an HEA. I read an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review. Another great book from Weston Parker.
Spring it on Me by Weston Parker was a great read. This was a story that I could not put down it hooked me from the very start. A very well written story and some really well developed characters. This is a story about two people who are so very different from one another but have an incredible connection. We have grumpy domineering Ashton who is in need of a new secretary after he recently fired his old one. Then you have feisty lovable single mother Willow who is in the marker for a new job, when she hears two handsome men talking about needing a new secretary. This is just the start of a fun and exciting story because these two characters have some really great chemistry and enjoyable bantering. I for one loved Ashton and couldn't get enough of him. I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it. In my opinion a must read.
A friend of mine had told me awhile ago to read Weston Parker's book. I had NO clue which to start with, and here is the lucky winner.
I LOVED that Willow was a single mom who wasn't going to be pushes around by anyone and she was gonna dish out as much as she received. Her sass level was off the charts! My kind of lady. Her dedication to her son was also something I loved and respected.
Ashton was that typical successful billionaire businessman focused on work and the bottom line. Those types of guys are always fun to watch falling for The One.
The dual fire between Willow and Ashton was my favorite: 1st being their verbal sparing in the office as they got to know each other and 2nd their physical chemistry was HOT. 🔥🔥
I wanted to like this book I really did. It was going great up until like the 80% mark I didn’t mind Ashton’s brooding personally and Willow seemed great too I liked her personality and that she was a great mom. But I can’t get over the fact that these people one who is a rich man who said he doesn’t want a family or kids and doesn’t want women getting pregnant by him to get some money out him and a single struggling mother kept having UNPROTECTED SEX! That makes no sense!. Then when of course she ends up pregnant she doesn’t tell him! What? Why? She says is a “pride” thing 🙄 hated that. At the end when Ashton finally got his head out his ass and went to Willow their problems just disappeared so easily she told him she was pregnant and he’s like “oh okay, cool” like what!? No NOT COOL he said he didn’t want kids no means no lady sometimes it’s really that simple.

Urk! This pair. In so many ways they’re complete opposites but in others they’re frightfully similar. Everything Ashton’s achieved, he’s done so through his own hard work and perseverance. Willow has the ferocity of every momma bear worth her claws. But where Willow is outgoing and gregarious, Ashton could be the dictionary definition of an iceman. Together, their chemistry lights up every page of this book. Whether they’re fighting or f- er… making up, the sparks are always flying. I was a little distressed to see that this story almost took the secret baby route, and I was very glad to see it detour before it got that far. And once again, the ending is one of the cutest things I’ve read since the last Parker book. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Weston Parker's books are getting better and better, and Spring It to me is not an exception.
This is a heartwarming story about a single mom, Willow, and an arrogant alpha arse, Ashton where their lives collided together thanks to unfortunate circumstances. She is fire, he is ice. She is witty, he is boring. She is jovial, he is miserable In a few words they are the opposite from each other, but that doesn't stop the chemistry from growing and sizzle, creating an office romance like no other.
But it doesn't stop there, oh no! There is the combination of feelings such as angst, drama, laughter, etc. that will have you turning the pages to find out what's next, never a dull moment for sure.
And as always, Weston delivered another 5 ☆ read which a highly recommend.
Ashton and his partner have a business of upscale suits . Ashton believe you have to dress the best to empress.. He is 34 in the biggest pompous ass to make it worse he is close off person. His partner decide to leave after a three year run. In Buyout he made sure he had a secretary that would not take his attitude. Willow started that next Monday and he was Shocked to who his secretary was. Willow is a single with a 9 year old son. With the trouble her son was having she need a job she could depend on. As the Willow and Ashton worked together the and sparks fly this goes on for a while he learned she had a child that she had not told him . Willow knew he did want kids so that how goes There are parts of this story that I was rooting for Willow and kicking me in the butt.
This is a good and witty single mom romance. It is nicely developed and well written. I love the characters and the plot is very interesting. I really like Ashton and Willow! He is the CEO/founder of Wolfe Tailored Suits. He believes dressing for success. He is 34 and considered a very eligible bachelor but does do relationships; a bit of a playboy. Willow is a struggling single mother to a little boy, Jake, who is struggling with bullies at school. She loses her job when she is called to her sons school. She is desperate and manages to somewhat stumble into a position as Ashton's unwanted but needed secretary. This is a witty and fun story with some sadness and angst. Overall, heartwarming and feel good story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I really enjoyed this book! The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was for the ending.
Beware because there is spoilers below::
The whole time he was anti family, anti having kids, didn’t believe other woman who told him that he was pregnant with his children... and then all the sudden at the end ... wam..... she tells him that she is pregnant and his reaction is happy with it. I get that he would/should be happy eventually but I feel like the fact he was instantly happy after he was told was unrealistic for the whole character.
But other words the story was very well written. I love the build up and development of the two main characters and will probably reread the story again.
