Wealthy businessman Isaac Pierce can't stop thinking about the beautiful governess next door. He insulted her with his invitation to be his mistress and now she mistrusts him, but he can't get her out of his mind.
Miss Abigail Francis has always tried to make herself unappealing to men and focus on maintaining respectability, but one look at her handsome new neighbor awakens a longing she's long buried.
When Isaac's niece is involved in an accident, he and Abigail find themselves living in the same household and Abigail begins to learn who Isaac really is behind his beautiful face and scandalous reputation as a seducer. She finds her walls beginning to crumble, but she must be careful to maintain her reputation and her position as they are all she has. But soon she begins to wonder what one brief indiscretion would hurt. She'd make sure no one ever knew. However, her actions will have consequences and may put her in more danger than she'd ever have expected.
This was my first read from this author and I'll definitely try her again. That said, I really didn't much care for this one. I couldn't connect with the main characters and didn't really ever feel any romance between them beyond mere lust. I started out disliking Isaac and his awful past decisions but eventually he did grow on me some and I wound up having more disdain for Abigail. Despite harping about education and logical thinking to her pupil, Abigail displayed a ridiculous naivete and stringent standard of living that I grew tiresome. I found her inner monologues, and sometimes even her dialogues, to be tedious and repetitive at times and her constant wishy-washyness with Isaac got old fast. The last bit of drama wasn't enough to improve the otherwise slow pace of the book for me but I am happy I plowed through. I'll read something else from this author but I wasn't crazy about this one.

Miss Abigail Francis finds herself irresistibly attracted to him to her employer’s neighbor. She’s been warned he’s quite the scoundrel, but that doesn’t stop her from daydreaming about Isaac Pierce. Isaac has been obsessed with Abigail from the first time he spotted. He keeps trying to seduce her and now she craves his seduction. They need to overcome their pasts; he shares much of his life, his grief, but he refuses to make a commitment to anyone. They are wonderful characters who will capture you with their passionate desires and hopes for love, home and family. There are forces working to keep them apart, will their love be strong enough to overcome any challenge. An excellent story I loved and I voluntarily wrote a review.

Another great read from Natasha Blackthorne!!!! 5 Stars all around.
Attraction, romance, action,suspense and a troubled brother!
Miss. Abigail Francis is a Governess for the deGrij family only daughter. Abigail was given this job by Mr. Sexton, he is known to be one of the richest men in the Northeast, USA. He is a widow and sponsors her to two half brothers, and with her pay she pay Mr. Sexton in return.
Cathy is eighteen and Abigail has been the best governess for her, for the past three years. She should have been at finishing school, but due to a head trauma she still has problems. But, Cathy is very reliant on Abigail.
There new neighbor a Mr. Isaac Pierce is a rich young and single man. I really loved the first time he and Abigail met! It was while on her early morning break, and she's in the backyard laying down on the bench. Mr. Pierce notices her, he has for awhile, but has not been able to introduce each other.
When they meet, the chemistry, the instant attraction is there!!
This storyline flowed smoothly, and it did have alot of interesting stuff going on. The characters, the narrative, the attention to details! There is plenty of drama, secrets, heartaches and well detailed hot and beautiful love scenes!
Although, at first I was annoyed by Abigail stubborn nature, but she doesn't have that, she is an independent, strong willed young lady. She saw and is reminded what her mother went through.
I have read the previous books in this series, and omg!!! They were amazing reads!!

Moving, sensual & erotic – beautifully done
A Wanton Indiscretion, by Natasha Blackthorne, is a thoroughly emotional, sensual and erotic read. It is the 5th instalment in the author’s Wild, Wicked and Wanton series, but can be read as a standalone.
I just adored that Isaac and Abigail are such opposites when it comes to their characters: Isaac is a handsome philanderer, notorious for his affairs and reviled by many in society despite his wealth. Abigail is a respectable governess who has eschewed marriage and her own children, to instead support her brothers through her job as a governess, their own parents long gone. The scene where Isaac and Abigail first met is pure perfection, sparks flying between them from the off!
It is to the author’s credit that these two people, seemingly so different in their natures, come together over the course of the novel in such a beautiful and moving way. Both are harbouring secrets from their past – Isaac in particular has a tragic back story. and I loved how each of them slowly revealed themselves to each other as their relationship progresses. For Abigail it is a difficult process as she has her reputation to think about: one step out of line could ruin her in society’s eyes and she could lose all she has dedicated her life to – there are plenty of people who may notice a potential fall from grace.
I enjoyed reading how single minded Isaac was in his pursuit of Abigail as he slowly breaks down her defences. Will he win this game of seduction and if he does what next for them both? Society’s expectations weigh heavily on them and I was eager for them to find a satisfactory resolution. Abigail is unlike any other woman Isaac has met and his obsession grows to an extent that he must have her. I loved how the domestic crisis brought them into daily contact, bringing to a head their feelings for each other. After refusing to be Isaac’s mistress, Abigail wonders whether a brief indiscretion will hurt. What follows has consequences for them both…
Natasha Blackthorn excels at writing scorching sensual and erotic historical romance that are at the same time deeply psychological, touching on sensitive themes and this read is no exception. The read involves much soul searching as to what they want from life and each other. Emotions are high as both characters need to bare their past hurts to each other in order to find their true selves and each other and being totally transformed by the process. .
Recommended for those who love to read erotic historical romance.

I was so excited for the release of Natasha Blackthorne's "A Wanton Indiscretion"! I'd read a promotional glimpse into the book and it promised to be worth the wait for its release.
And Ms. Blackthorne did NOT disappoint!
This delicious novel is a hugely refreshing change from the usual Regency world in which the cookie cutter hero is usually a cynical, icy duke or earl whose indifferent heart must be won by the heroine by the end of the book.
In "A Wanton Indiscretion", our hero, Isaac Pierce, is a man whose heart wastes no time melting at the sight of the beautiful, dark-haired governess next door. Don't get me wrong! Pierce is no schoolboy when it comes to women. The rich tycoon knows his way around the fairer sex and has quite a reputation as a scoundrel for that very reason.
But...
The surprise! Our Mr. Pierce, in spite of his charm and flirtatious talent, actually has a tragedy in his past which leaves him longing for a woman to LOVE. A woman to fill a huge gap in his heart. A woman who will understand him and then love him just as he is. He longs to care for someone, to lavish a woman with his love and to make her dreams come true.
Isaac knows, from the moment he spots governess Abigail Francis in the neighboring yard, that SHE is that woman.
What I adore about this love story is the way Ms. Blackthorne beautifully wove the effects of their pasts in completely different ways and yet still managed to bring them together to bond as one and heal them both. Abigail's past caused her to be very cautious of men and to be skeptical as to what they wanted from her. She'd turned off any hopes of meeting a man who would love her in spite of her governess position and yet she longed so for a husband and a family.
On the other hand, Pierce's past---which had, for a while, turned him into a carefree womanizer---quickly, surely opened his heart to love once he met Abigail. So sure of this love for her was he that he could not forget her. He knew he'd never be happy without her.
Abigail and Isaac are such a sexy (oh---had I not mentioned the luscious, sensual chemistry and the delicious love scenes?) pair. Yes, the love scenes are quite hot. And yet, to heighten the sensuality, there is their added passion and caring for each other. BEAUTIFUL.
Thank you, Ms. Blackthorne, for this new story, this new couple. They are perfection.

Sexy scenes but the story, IMO, needed more love.
Gave this 2.5 stars, sorry too dark, not my cup of tea.
Wealthy, beyond handsome 33YO Isaac seemed fixated
on ways of the flesh. He wanted to seduce beautiful
women & then cut them loose. He focused on beautiful
governess next door, Abigail. He made inappropriate
comments to her and tried to get her alone. He sensed
mutual lust. Abby knew she was 'on the shelf' at age 29.
Abigail's late mother indulged in indiscretions. Abby's
choices 1) stay a virgin 2) become a mistress 3) become
a wife. Either of the last two might provide her w/ a child,
her secret dream. Isaac claimed he loved her midway
in the story- a convenient line? Did he understand love?
Abby vacillated on her emotions, especially related to her
choices. She spotted Isaac as manipulative.
Abby's charge Cathy had long-term recovery (cognition &
comprehension) from a previous head injury & Isaac's
niece/ward Letty had a current head injury. Isaac convinced
Abby's employer to allow her, Cathy & his aunt travel to
the countryside to help Letty better adjust to her circum-
stances.
Abby's brother & 2 other men in the story had a menacing
demeanor. Why? Abby's brother changed in personality,
why? Readers remained in the dark on him.
Isaac's aunty came across as sweet and wise, when not
having her special tea elixir.

A Wanton Indiscretion (Wild, Wicked And Wanton #5) is the latest in a historical romance series by the awesome author Natasha Blackthorne.
Isaac Pierce, is one of the main characters in this story. Cad or hero? Opinions change as the more you read the more Isaac’s story and secret truths unfold.
You will learn not all charming & handsome men’s hearts remain unscathed.
But this is our heroine, Abigail’s, story and we get to know her by her struggles and changes as her character learns to let go and find freedoms and passions she never dreamt of.
When you read this story remember it is a “historical” romance and you can bet that back in those days women, especially a governess, were expected to live within the imposed limitations and restrictions of the times.
So naturally, Abigail dealt with the mental turmoil of what she could or should allow or even like.
Any decision she made could change her life drastically. Should she protect her governess position, listen to others, or follow her heart?
I liked this story; it was light, easy, and enjoyable! Characters aren’t always what you think; while some disappoint others develop and grow in a good way, there is passion, sensuous sex scenes, and love.
I am left with a desire for the author to write the continuing story #6 of Cathy. Let her know if you feel the same way :) Will she find love and acceptance too?

Natasha Hawthorne never disappoints! Just finished it and I loved it. Abigail can’t make up her mind whether or not Isaac is a scoundrel as her benefactor has told her or whether he has been judged wrongly. All she knows is she is hot for him. However, she constantly fights her feelings for him because she doesn’t want to become a “tainted” lady! If you like hot love stories with great sex you will love this book! I highly recommend!

A good steamy romance
A good steamy romance. Some explicitness. I'm not a romance reader per se so I think romance readers will enjoy the tropes of historical love and desire just out of reach. Some modern ideologies shine through as well, which is to be expected in today's age. Personally I give it a C, for romance readers it is a very solid B.

A Wanton Indiscretion is Wild, Wicked And Wanton #5 Series is a historical romance. When I started reading romance back in my 20’s I loved historical romances then I still do now 40 years later. The only difference is they are probably a whole lot sexier now than they were then.
This is Isaac Pierce and Abigail’s story. Abigail is a governess and knows that is her place in life.
Isaac wants Abigail and he will do everything he can to make her his mistress. She fights off the advances until she no longer wants to. And just maybe just maybe she can be indiscreet just once.
I loved reading this sexy romance. It has spice, it has suspense and it has romance.
This is Isaac Pierce and Abigail’s story. Abigail is a governess and knows that is her place in life.
Isaac wants Abigail and he will do everything he can to make her his mistress. She fights off the advances until she no longer wants to. And just maybe just maybe she can be indiscreet just once.

A beautiful story
I liked the story line, & the characters.
I thought there was little explanation of abigails brothers craziness. It came on too suddenly.
Also, a little to graphic for me. Just my opinion.
But, overall a lovely story, & good read.

I didn’t like really like either characters. I just couldn’t get into it despite finishing it. I wanted to give it a chance to improve but I found the characters to be rather lackluster and boring.

An entertaining romance with a sensual and heart felt story. Throw in some suspense and danger for Isaac and Abigail and it makes for a page turning happily ever after.

Sweet book
Abigail and Isaac make a great couple. Both overcome past hurts and preconceived notions to find their one true love. This book is the perfect length to be read over an afternoon. A Wanton Indiscretion is a much cleaner read than what I'm used to from Ms. Blackthorne, don't worry there is still some steam.
