When a dead body is found in an apartment building, Detective Sara Hunt is called to relive a nightmare she thought was long dead. A message is painted on the wall using the victims' blood, and all evidence points to a man she wronged many years ago. Now that man is back for her, and Sara has nowhere to run.
RUN FROM ME is the first instalment to a gripping new serial killer series. It features Sara Hunt, a no-nonsense homicide detective with a big secret, and that secret is on the verge of coming out.
The Detective Sara Hunt trilogy co-authored with Adam Nicholls is Natasha's first foray into thrillers focused on serial killers and all things dark. She enjoys finding a balance between lighthearted topics and the bleakness that typifies crime stories.
One of her favorite things to do is watch Scandinavian-influenced crime series with an occasional episode from random HGTV shows thrown in to balance the gloom.
Otherwise, she can be found taking her Pomeranian to the dog park, doing yoga, or drinking California red wines.

The story had lots of promise but could have been so much more.
Detective Hunt has to lead a team against her will to catch a serial killer who has made it very personnel and is writing direct messages to her in blood.
It showed promise when the heroin detective, in the beginning, goes to and has a whip taken to her back because of her low self-esteem. Interesting! But then it got extremely repetitive. Plus so many potential great action scenes were covered in one or two sentences.
It got 3 stars because of what it could have been, but it falls flat for me.
Review by Mike Slavin author of award-winning Kill Crime (action-packed thriller on Amazon to buy or KU)
I am having a hard time with this review because I just could never really get absorbed into it. The storyline was good, but to me describing every little detail of how a character is sitting is a bit mundane. It just never really grabbed me like some books do. Tommy seemed petulant. He didn't seem like a serial killer because he seemed too stupid as a character to get away with even one murder. Little details that mattered for instance police using a very old mugshot to show around instead of his current driver's license photo. Many little things just made the book not want me to carry on with the series.
Sara has some dark things in her past that she’d rather that others didn’t know. Shes a cop who like to visit s&m establishments to give herself the punishments she feels she deserves. Add to this mix a serial killer is taunting Sara with each new kill. Her sister Anna is also on the force and Sara’s boss has ordered Sara to lead the case.
I enjoyed the storyline which was interesting enough for me to consider reading the next book in this series
I enjoyed this book, there were a few details that didn't seem right but I ignored them and was able to get into the story, it was hard to put the book down. I liked Sara's company although a little foolhardy. The next book sounds great and I find myself wanting more.
The book seemed repetitious for the first 50 pages. Sara "I don't want this case". Captain Braddock "To bad, it's yours. By the time I finished I realized I didn't care for any of the characters. Just nothing to hang my hat on.
This book kept you on your toes until the end. The main character Sara was a real emotional mess but she still did her job and caught the killer. Can't wait to read the next book.
I guess all heroes\heroines must have A flaw or two to make them seem real. Sara did, but it made the story more interesting. I will definitely read more from this author.
Sara Hunt is apparently an excellent detective and she has a serial killer to find before too many murders are committed. The Killer has targeted her by leaving her name in blood at each scene. She recognizes the methods used but this is the method of a a supposedly dead man. This is a great outline for a story but it suffers from a tame ending and too much detail of Sara's mental and psychological problems
Adam Nicholls - Detective Sara Hunt Bk 1 - Run from Me - Reviewed 10/7/19 When the past roars in, the only thing to do is to face it head-on!
San Diego Homicide Detective Sara Hunt had problems from her past that she could not let go of, try as she might. When she got the call from her Captain giving her a new assignment, young woman murdered, even though she was not on duty he told her to get the job done. Arriving on the murder scene everyone was skittish, but when she entered the bedroom she understood why. There on the wall, the killer was back and he was calling her out!!! Come and get me, let’s finish what we started! She went to the Captain for reassignment but he would not let her off the hook. He assigned her and that was the way it would be. He told her she was the best on the force and only the best would be able to catch this kind of killer. The chase was on.
What did I like? When I get a book from Adam I know that it will be involved and have an incredible storyline. He has mastered the technique of storytelling in an amazing way and they are always top-notch. His characters always have this back story to them that will reach out and grab hold of you and take you on a trip that will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through.
What will you like? A well-written storyline that evolves throughout the book, growing with intense action and breathtaking details. Descriptions that keep you moving with the characters and your involvement with the actions. Characters that are unique and exceptional but you know that they could be your next best friends that you didn’t even know you were looking for. The ending will rock you with the sense of passionate writing that I have come to know as only Adam Nicholls could give in his books. Adding the expertise of Natasha Luke and you have one amazing book and the start of a new series by the pair. If you have not read any of Adam Nicholls books, I highly recommend that you check them out as they are all excellent!!
This is a first rate police/serial killer story. What it isn’t though is a whodunit as we know who the murderer is. It’s also different to a lot of other similar stories because the killers motive is revenge. He wants revenge on the detective assigned to investigate, he even leaves her a note. In blood. I’ve loved Adam Nicholls previous books so I was naturally excited to read this one with new author Natasha Luke. This is a pairing made in heaven for all who like our police/serial killer fiction. The story is well paced never letting things drop off and the narrative from both sides is very well written. There’s a different take on the cops here too that we don’t see nearly enough of in crime books and that is seeing how hard they struggle with dealing with the worst that society has to offer. The authors build the tension and suspense the whole way through leading to the ‘grand finale’. I enjoyed the book from first page until the last and can safely say this was one I really hated to put down! One thing to note is the inclusion of a considerate warning before the epilogue that includes a cliffhanger/teaser for the next book in the series. More writers should think of doing so. Overall this is great stuff and I can’t wait for the next instalment in the series.
Through main character’s Father, (Cal) Sara Hunt gets snared in a vicious serial killers net, as he stalks her through the blood of his victims. Adam Nicholls and Natasha Luke delivered a great exciting thrilling read as they co-authored Run From Me! Thrilling read leaving this reader on the edge of the seat with some toe tapping angst as Sara Hunt dives in to capture a heinous killer. She endures so much as she takes risks she shouldn’t have but...well..NO SPOILERS. What a great read ride!! I HIGHLY recommend Run From Me, by Natasha Luke and Adam Nicholls, who nails it and takes the reader on a very exciting thrilling read!! Definitely looking forward to many more books by this Author team. ENJOY
When a horrific se e idea of murders occur Sara Hunt is called to investigate. What makes the murder scenes worse is that the killer is leaving personal messages to Sara written, on the walls, using the victims own blood. Who is this deranged killer? Sara can think of only one possibility but it is someone who is long dead. Is she being hunted by a dead man ?
Run From Me is a well written novel with one main character. I say that because we really know nothing about any of the other people in the story. Detective Sarah Hunt is a complex person. We know that she once helped her father dispose of a "body". She takes her job seriously and has herself flogged for anytime she fails. You will want to read Run from Me for yourself.
I really felt like something was missing. Almost like I walked in on the middle of the movie and missed the the whole premise of the story. With any luck any subsequent book will be able to delve into Sara's past and shed some more light on her life and delve into her personality traits as well as her need for self flagellation and low self esteem.
I read Adam Nichols books all the time and when I seen a new one I thought, okay I’ll see what this is about and I was not disappointed at all, the characters are intriguing and it was fast paced and I couldn’t put it down, this was a great book! On to the second book in the series, I’m looking forward to more books with this character. Read it you won’t regret it!
A guilt ridden female detective allows her emotion destroy her ability to see clearly in regards to a serial killer. She punished herself to get over her fear and doubts. Only her skill in fighting keeps her from being killed and capable of winning in the end.
Sara Hunt is a detective with issues !! This is the 1st book in an exciting trilogy. Very entertaining and well developed. In my opinion, this is one of Adam Nicholls best series. Anxiously waiting to read the 2nd book to see what happens to
This is a good story with characters that have a lot of potential. I almost stopped reading it because of harm Sara was causing to herself. I stuck with it and I'm glad I did.
This is the first book in the series and the first time I have read these writers, this book is all you want from a good thriller it has suspense, thrills, and scary bits by the dozen you will not put this down and the end will have you wanting to grab the next book in the series.
