From the Author of the breakthrough Sam Wick Rapid Thriller Series, a breathtaking, page-turning novel about a disgraced female detective’s fight for redemption. And survival…

Karen Jones was a promising young police detective when she got embroiled in a controversial trial for the murder of a homicide suspect. Traumatized, betrayed, and publicly vilified, Karen could only watch as her career rapidly descended towards its premature end. Her boss--a decorated officer--offered his help to get her out of this mess but it came with a huge cost.

Karen wanted to be in the force to make a difference but now she had to decide between selling her soul or pursuing this dream she had stitched together with her father. The clock is ticking and Karen had to choose her options very fast.

A startling introduction to a new series.

Intriguing, short, fast paced lead-in to future Task Force operations. Karen, a law enforcement officer is down on her luck facing trial for killing a known criminal suspect but she is without good representation or support. What are her options? A sudden turn of events results in unexpected actions and reveal qualities that don’t go unnoticed. Chase Austin has a talent for immediately drawing you into the story and main character with surprise and suspense. His style is quick and to the point -- a writer who focuses on action while delineating his characters. I am certainly curious to see where this intro leads. What lies ahead for Karen?

Police Detective Karen Jones is in a pickle. Christmas is forthcoming; she’s facing a trial for wrongful death of a well-known criminal suspect, which could possibly lead to her dismissal from the force; she’s assaulted by the highly respected police chief who says he can get her out of her pickle; then she is physically assaulted.

Then, all of a sudden, author Chase Austin let’s us know that she is now being recruited by a mysterious NGO entitled Task Force-77 with the offer that everything that the pickle surrounding her will go away.

Is the answer for which she’s been looking? Find out for yourself.

What do you get when you add a suspended cop, a sexual predator/harasser and a government agency looking to recruit that suspended cop? You get Force Recruit, a real quick read that provides back story for Karen the suspended cop and a very unique recruitment procedure used by Task Forced 77. Having read the Sam Wick/ TF-77 stories, I find myself wondering how Karen will fit into TF-787 and Sam Wick’s world. I guess only time and the next TF-77 releases will tell. I received an Advance Reader Copy and chose to provide this review.

This is a fantastic story. I read an ARC copy and I'm withholding the 5th star until the edits are in. Then I'll want to give it 5-1/2 or 6.
The action kicks in from the very beginning...and races all the way to the end. There isn't a slow second and the momentum continues until the end, with the tension increasing along the way.
I love these stories...I wish someone would make a movie...

DON’T Mess with Karen Jones,
Intense first chapter, but didn’t expect direction book went. Wow! Really great to be surprised as the book continues. Looking forward to more of TF-77 Team’s adventures. Keep them coming and I will keep on reading. Strongly recommend you try this author and best if you start at beginning with Sam Wick as main character. Fast passed book that keep you involved.

Police corruption goes all the way to the top. A split second decision leaves a detective in the wind. Karen is blind-sided by her chief and ends up being recruited for deep cover and black ops. This was an ARC copy that needs further editing.

Karen Jones, a young cop who was top of her police academy class finds herself in hot water over a shooting. Karen is taken by task force 77 to see if she's got what it takes to become one of them. A short book which was quite enjoyable.

There is more character development in this story than in the Sam Wick stories.
There is a small disappointment in the failure to resolve a small conflict in the story.
Perhaps that will happen in the next novella.

If you love action, black ops, and secrecy I suggest you check out any of his Sam Wick books and with this new addition of Force Recruit we are diving deeper into Task Force-77. I loved this side of the story. I enjoyed the different angle we approached in. I don't want to mention any spoilers but I highly recommend this and any books from Chase Austin. He always makes your heart pound and looking over your shoulder.

ONE HAIR RAISING ADVENTURE!!!
Holy hell! Chase raised the bar on this jaw dropping, mind blowing bombshell ramping up the stakes, keeping it real. He brought out the big guns for this thrilling storyline and gripping plot catapulting this bad boy together piece by piece seamlessly. Hurdling the trials and tribulations as trumoil and distress run rampant while speculations and chaos sets the pace in this non-stop action packed wonder. Throw in drama, betrayal, intrigue, danger and suspense and you have one dynamic page flipping, prize winning wonder, propelling this gem to a whole new level. Twists and turns abound with unnerving circumstances and a bounty of inadvertent surprises thrusts all of your emotions bursting into play front and center. The dynamics and presentation in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into the web so deep you feel everything the characters feel one page at a time. The characters and their personalities are original, genuine and realistic with depth and qualities and enough flaws individualism. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it's easy to interpret each scenario as they play off one another flawlessly. Amazing job Chase, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Wicked Asset - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Director Helms of T-77, is under orders from President Johnson, (via 'Mother', a James Bond/'M'-like equivalent) to get Sam Wick and all the other Agents assembled, ready for an urgent mission. What Mission Impossible' are they given in Hong Kong?
Why is this asset so important to the USA?
Who's already been murdered by a Chinese scientist's nefarious nerve gas experiments?

In flashback scenes, we see how NJPD Officer Karen Jones is suspended, pending a civil case against her. Later, corrupt Judge Hudson offers to clear her, with an 'indecent proposal'.
Will she accept Mother's offer to become part of Wick's team, when she learns what's expected of her? Who is April
How does Wick intend to exfiltrate the asset?
With the others in his team in position, how long do they have to watch and wait until he's in place.

Non-stop action in an exotic location, with nail--bitingly tense subterfuge and danger on every side, make Chase Austin's Wicked Asset a must-read for fans of James Bond, Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt spy-thrillers.
Get your copy 'under (your) cover' and secretly enjoy every single twist and turn it has to offer!

Who can Karen trust?

This book sets up a new series with the Sam Wick character from the first series. The story follows NJ Detective Karen Jones in the aftermath of a shooting. She was found her actions were justified by the NJPD; however, the victim's parents filed a civil suit against her. The department isn't on her side because she wouldn't settle out of court. She wanted to clear her name instead but the defence attorney she was given is questionable.

Then, a series of events occur that she could not have foreseen. She is kidnapped. Who is behind it? Where was she taken? Why? Nothing makes since to her. Her life is about to change forever...

I enjoyed this short read very much. Action packed!

Force Recruit: It's Time to Hit Back is the first book in the Task Force–77 Thriller series.

Chase Austin has given us a new series with a great female character and a fast-paced, action-packed storyline. With betrayal, assault, danger, intrigue, and redemption, follow Karen Jones as she starts her adventure with Task Force 77.

I loved this book and cannot wait for the next one in the series.

The author knocks it out of the park yet again with a story not quite in the same vein but with an interesting twist and connection to Sam Wicks via The TF77 team. New characters gives the book interesting sidelines which add to the depth of the storytelling. This one introduces a disgraced policewoman but it’s no less impressive that Sam Wick’s is not the main story. In fact it’s a fascinating facet.
Loved it!

Just when she thought she had little or nothing left to lose, strange and hard to comprehend twists offer her alternatives.

Then she understands, she has truly lost everything.

So what happens after betrayal upon betrayal? A really new beginning- and very little control of circumstances around it

The suspense sets in from the very beginning. The story opens with Karen being a kidnappee. She has no clue as to what led to her kidnapping and who the kidnappers are. Karen looks back at her life to unravel the mystery. And the suspense starts building up....

Enjoy a suspenseful ride 👍👍👍
