Ruby Holmes has finally settled into her four-week ‘vacation’ in cozy town Carmel Springs, Maine. She’s thrilled when she lands a catering gig for a local wedding… even if the client is a bridezilla of epic proportions.
When Ruby arrives early to set up for the wedding, the last thing she expects to find is the corpse of the bride, her face plastered in Ruby’s highly unique marzipan frosting. Ruby’s suspect number one again, and if she can’t solve the mystery, she’ll be locked up while the real murderer roams free.

Another good read. Slightly more obvious then the first book. Whilst we are still trying to find out more about our two heroines as they are involved in the death off a bride to be. Suffocated by marzipan. They have decided to stay in the small community and then find themselves embroiled in the new guests lives. A couple organising their wedding, a twin and a bridesmaid. However all is not going smoothly, their customers are staying away, the bride winds up dead and the marzipan of a cupcake was used to kill her. Now they have the annoying detective on their tail, a thief in the Inn and a Peeping Tom. Can they save their business, find out who the killer is and clear their names?
Having had a busy weekend, I decided to continue with book 2 in the series by borrowing it on KU (I have it in boxed 1-5 but finding it was easier on KU lol). This was another fun and crazy adventure features two of my new favorite bakers and food truck ladies.
A newspaper character named Millie was introduced in this book and while I'm pretty sure she was just for this book, I really liked her and how she helped the food truck get some good publicity after having put up with being involved with two murders now. There was a good twist concerning the killer and a nice showdown wrap-up. On to book three!
So, much wedding drama that lead to the demise of the bride. The pacing was really good as Ruby and Bee discover clue after clue. It was very easy to follow, and it created enough intrigue to draw me in. There were a few twists and turns along the way. The mystery was solved in a satisfying way.
Beyond the mystery, I liked the characters. The small town vibe was good. I liked the whole overall theme and setup of the food truck. There was just a lot of great atmosphere that I really enjoyed.
Ruby and Bee are having the worst luck in Maine! Yet another murder finds the pair being suspected of guilt by the idiot masquerading as a detective. Ruby has opened up a bit regarding her backstory (which frankly seems a bit silly), but Bee is sharing nothing! The murder mystery is appropriately tangled, and the town is yielding more pleasant characters. Light cozy buffs should enjoy visiting Carmel Springs!
Another cute entry in the bite-sized bakery cozy series. A couple comes to town to have a wedding in the groom’s hometown but things don’t go as planned or maybe they do and the bride is murdered. Once again Ruby and Bee help the local police solve the crime. Looking forward to their next adventure.
Catering a wedding reception is not always what it seems…the bride is a royal pain in the defuse and the baking duo once again find themselves in a pickle when she ends up dead – they spend a lot of time finding the killer.
The second in the series is a lot of fun, with a Bridezilla and almost-identical twins and my favorite character, the cat called Trouble. Great sleuthing by the main characters, not by Hobbit-Cop. Two thumbs up
I know they are cozy mysteries but this would be great fleshed out into a full length novel. Would be wonderful if there were recipes at the end. Downloading the next one now
Ruby and Bee find themselves mixed up in another murder investigation. Will they have to solve this one to keep themselves out of jail? Another fun read about their adventures.
Cozy, easy read, mystery. Not at all challenging, but it is not meant to be. I am disappointed that two books in and we know next to nothing about the main characters. I know more about the cat than Ruby and Bee.
An entertaining cozy mystery that makes you try to solve the case along with Ruby and Bee. It also makes your mouth water for their daily food truck sweet treats. Rosie makes her characters come to life.
This one starts out giving you a clear idea of who you want to like and dislike but things once again aren't always as they seem. I love that it feels predictable but really isn't at the same time. So you can keep guessing until the end, even if you know who did it.
Book 2 in the Bited sized cozy mystery series did not disappoint! Ruby and Bee might be bad luck for Caramel Springs though… 2 murders since they arrived. They might get kicked out soon - but not before at least 2 more books in the series though!
I loved this so much, even more than the first! I cannot wait to continue this series. I love reading about Ruby and Bee. This series is such a short and easy read. So excited to read book 3!
I'm really enjoying the two main lady characters, their wit and banter are just my style. But, the detective I could do without! What a pain in the token!😀
