They don’t know the first thing about being dragons. But they need to learn fast…
City planner Lindsay never expected to find a dying dragon on her local beach. (She was just trying to pick up some litter!) And she really never expected its final breath to change her life forever… and make her a killer’s next target.
But it’s the best thing to ever happen to her. Because despite this dangerous new world, she’s no longer alone…
One minute, artist Boone could just cross his fingers and hope the curvy, funny woman he met on the beach could be the start of something special. But one magical dragon breath later, he KNOWS she is. And he knows he’ll protect her with every skill he learned as a soldier—and with all his newfound powers. (Whatever those might be. He’s working on it.)
When the dragon’s dying wish transforms Boone and Lindsay into shifters, they’re plunged into a magical world neither ever suspected existed. With a powerful dragon-hunter hot on their tails, time is running out for them to figure out their new gifts… and their unexpected bond.
A dragon prophecy says they could end a centuries-old supernatural war. But what if saving the world means losing each other?
Quicksilver Dragon is a standalone dragon shifter romance full of passion and adventure. No cliffhangers!
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
*WARNING* contains explicit sexual content Boone is lonely, but a past relationship has him gun shy when it comes to women. Boone is an artist and likes to walk on the beach. Lindsay works for her small town. Lindsay does a little bit of everything for the city planners office, even pick trash off of the beach on her day off. This is a different type of dragon shifter story (can't say more without giving to much away). The villians of the story are new and unusual. I think that there us potential for this to become a series, but who knows.
Boone and Lindsay Changing Love! 4.75***** Spoiler Alert
Boone, an ex vet/artist and Lindsay, city planner met on the beach on a stormy day, while she was cleaning up trash solo. They saw a bright light and was witness to Eleanor, the foreseeing mystic dragon, death as she transformed them into Dragon shifters and the future warriors / protectors of shifters and planet Earth from the Unchanging. Of course they fell in love as the learnt to navigate Dragon-dom, in time to fight and defeat Mullen, the Unchangeable by turning them all into shifters, a date worse than death for them. Yes another HEA as Boone and Eleanor start a new series.
This plot and story climatic end was long winded but the final battle scene was rewarding. Change is inevitable was the main theme. Okay characters... Not as impressive as other ZC Dragon-shifter novels, plus the concept of breathing purple fire on humans can change them into dragons seemed farfetched. While Octavia's treachery was not discovered by the smart all-knowing dragons was a surprise and a major shocker. ..Meh!

I've read several Zoe Chant books, and this was my least favorite. For some reason her writing in the book was not the same for me. The story was pretty boring to be honest. The minutiae of Boone and Lindsay's interactions dragged things out between the main action. Trivial details that did not add to the story. There was too much inner dialogue. And the MCs were super sappy. I had to skim a lot to finish.
I will still read more of Chant's other books. This one just didn't work for me.
Not exactly what I was expecting, but it was good.
It's a little bit different from other books by the same author, and I don't have a problem with that, the story was good, the setting interesting, and the way the shifters and dragons enter the story is different, which is usually good. That being said, there was something about the book that made it hard to read, I usually can't stop reading books by Zoe, but this time it was a little harder. I'm sure many people will love it, but even if the setting and plot was interesting, it was hard for me to get into the story.
The way this was written. Was like how a child tells a story droning on and on or like a 80s soap opera where you are lucky if the coffe they make in one episode is done and ready to drink in the next two weeks. The book much like a droning soap opera is full of useless fodder of excessive monologues and incessant lingering thoughts. Too much detailing slows the story down. I used to say you couldn’t ever go wrong with a Zoe chant book. but apparently the odds were there. I supposed the “Zoe’s” had to strike out eventually. This was the losing book. It had such potential too. The premise, the plot is spectacular and had such possibilities. But was sooo unbelievably boring I literally fell asleep. I had to stop and take breaks so I didn’t pass out. This is a book for someone when one, needs to drift off. Just enough story to force you to Finish and not give up on it. Cause there were times I wanted to just give up and “DNF” but I wanted to know how it ended, therein lies the potential it had. The story was there however the execution fell very short of accomplishing a fully developed “follow through”. Sad. I really wish this particular Zoe would rewrite and fix the book . Get rid of the excess fodder, stick with the romance and excitement. Action adventure. Ever time it got started it ended too quickly and it jumped to boring A F very quickly it barely holds your attention. Please fix this book it reads more like a screen play rather than a book I don’t need to be told the characters inner feelings, every other sentence. I got more than 3 neuron’s in my brain. Thank you.
Oh this book was so good. Shifters and magic and stumbling into seeing a new reality all within a perfectly paced and woven story. It was a masterpiece of all the things. I felt like my emotions were being gently guided in a beautiful choreographed dance as the story unfolded. Lindsay is a city planner who cleans up the beach in her spare time. Boone is a commercial artist who stumbles upon Lindsay during a rainstorm as she’s picking up trash. Just as they stumble on each other and feel a profound connection they also stumble upon a dying dragon and then everything changes. “Whatever it was peeled back his understanding of the world, stripping aside everything he’d always thought he’d known about what was real and what was impossible.” This is an exciting fast paced story full of swoons, love, danger, fighting, running, mystery, drama, silliness, magic, sweet moments, sexy times, revelations, changes, and paranormal creatures. It is very well written, has three dimensional characters and a storyline that keeps you engaged from the first word to the last. Fingers crossed there will be more books in this storyline.
This was a fun paranormal romance. Lindsay and Boone are both nice fairly ordinary people who meet, are attracted to each other and then are accidentally turned into dragons. They discover a world full of dragons, shape shifters and the Unchangeable.
This wasn't your average Zoe Chant. The world-building was a little more complex than normal and the inimical enemy that was the Unchangeable was new for Chant. It worked very well. Beyond the main couple, who were charming, we meet at least one other character who needs a book of her own, and the storyline is crying out for a longer series to resolve it. It is not at all a cliffhanger, and the immediate story is resolved, but the world-building needs more stories.
Oh, my goodness, I LOVED this!! Lindsay and Boone are compassionate, honorable people, and they make the most adorable couple. The premise is original, and while there's not much world-building, the action is gripping and intense. I hope there will be more battles before good triumphs, and I wouldn't mind knowing the ultimate fate of the lone stray...
Dragon, Damsels and Suspense... what more could you ask?
You can almost always depend on the Zoe books to be a good read but some are a step above that and this is one of those. Well written and well paced with evil villains, magical dragon fire, and a charming hero and heroine. Just the world to escape into on a gloomy winters day! Just wished it could have been longer!
This Ms. Chant wrote a wonderful story! The main characters were believable. A twist on dragon shifting and definitely more stories! I want to know if they have babies and if their friend changes and what happened to the unchangeable that flew away.
This was one of the best stories. The instant attraction, the drama, the love and there fighting were all there. I was riveted from beginning to end. I need more of Henry, Ursula and Zeke.
I would have to say this was good but not great. I didn’t really care for the evil in this story and I generally like evil. I guess you could say it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Boone Keller and Lindsay Garza's Great, Exciting Very Special Story
Quicksilver Dragon is by far an exceptional HEA. Boone and Lindsay's story keeps you engaged from the first page to the end. There are twists and turns that surprise and entertain the reader. Enjoy!
Quicksilver Dragon is a standalone Dragon Shifter Book, is an magical intense read. I found the book with twists and turns along with being a head spinning read
Weird how things work out some time, but in the end love prevails and all is right as rain. These monsters sure sound to be scary, trying to picture what they would look like and can't. But to be thrown into a world that you had no idea existed can really throw you off balance. But they both figured it out along with the help of their dragons...loved it. Will there be more stories about these monsters and others finding their mates. Big fan as always Winzie19☺💞.
Keeping it Fresh Zoe Chant's Quicksilver Dragon is a Great Read
This is a great New spin on dragons. For air a couple who meet on the beach and discover a woman in distress and then find themselves caught up in the world of dragons which they never knew exixted, Zoe Chant masterfully weaves a tale of fantasy, intreague, romance and good vs evil.
Enjoy the journey as strangers become friends, brothers in arms, lovers, mates and members of the clan. Follow along as they find the mysterious stranger, Henry and Ursela, the 'mole' and defeat the enemy with amazing Dragon strength.
By far one of my favorite new Dragon books for most creative plot.
A new take on dragons ...or some dragons at least! Wonderful characters with incredibly likable H & h. Also a really interesting take on the "bad guys". I'd love to see this story go further & there's certainly scope to do that, but we also have a well rounded finished story if that doesn't happen. A really enjoyable read.
Sometimes I come across a story that – captivates – is the only word I can use that conveys the magic and intensity that makes one book stand out from all the rest. Quicksilver Dragon is such a story. The problem becomes… how can I talk about a story that is unique, introduces a new concept, totally unknown entities, and vile new villains without giving away far too much of the plot. The fact is that I cannot. That simple. I’m going to have to let the Cover Description speak to those things and leave the rest up to your own discovery.
What I do feel comfortable saying is that Lindsay and Boone are a couple you will quickly become invested in, will like them individually and together on the spot, and will become caught up in their new journey quite quickly. There is an ease and familiarity with and between this couple that drew me in from the very start. I liked them when they first met, I fell in love with them as they began this amazing transforming journey into danger, the unknown, and a love that will last a lifetime (a very long lifetime it seems).
This needs to be the prelude to or the first story in… a series. Yes, it does need to one day be a series for there are characters we’re introduced to that I need to know more about, I want to discover their journey as well — and there are… questions I’d love to see answered. So, yes, I would love for Quicksilver Dragon to be the beginning of a series one day for I want more of this particular world.
I’d not hesitate to recommend this story to any Shifter Romance or Paranormal Romance reader who loves a good story, something a bit different, dangers to be faced and a couple to root for.
