Internet Star Sugar Jones appears to have it all - a successful business, a kind daughter, a loyal best friend, and her mom who loves her more than anything. Her world is flipped on its head when her mom reconnects with Sugar's father, a man she's never met.
Eric, her father, isn't the horrible man she thought he was, and she must now adjust to a whole new town, family, and people. Trust is not her thing, especially since she lived through horrible bullying most of her childhood due to things out of her control.
There’s so much change in her life right now, and to top it all off she gets to go through this during the holiday season. She's taking over her grandfather's cafe, about to be on a national holiday baking television show, and is still dealing with leftover guilt over her husband's death. The last thing Sugar needs is someone like Jackson Anderson coming into her life.
Jackson is perfectly fine with where he is in life. Building his business and having a good time is all he needs. He plans to start a family later in life, just like his father did. Jackson's world is turned upside down when the talented and beautiful Sugar Jones comes to town, the long-lost daughter of one of his business partners.
The attraction is immediate, but Sugar isn't the type of girl he usually dates. Sugar has a child, and she's tied to the family business. No matter how hard he tries he can't stay away, and when he hears about how some of her internet fans can get a little creepy, he knows he'll do anything to protect Sugar and her daughter Violet, a little girl who immediately steals his heart.
Finding Home is the aftermath of Becca and Eric reuniting, and puts to test the notion that love really does conquer all, especially when paired with a pastry from the Snow Globe Cafe.
Raised in Northwest Indiana, or "The Region" as it's called, Kelly J Calton wrote her first book, "That Darn Dog" for her first-grade young author's contest. Graduating from Robert Morris College in 2003 she continued her career in the computer industry and writing part time for magazines and blogs.
After creating a popular blog called My 30 Point life documenting the trials and tribulations experienced while losing a significant amount of weight, she decided to go back to her first love - writing fiction.
"If I stay, I'm never going to leave," he warned. "Promise?" she asked with a smile. "Promise," he said.
Finding Home took place right after Going Home. We get more of Sugar and Violet's story, opening up her new cafe, competing on a baking show, and figuring out her place in this new life of hers.
I love that Sugar is so thoughtful when it comes to her daughter, making sure all of her actions are the best for her. When she becomes more famous after being on the baking show and new people are strolling into town to visit her cafe, her brother & his friend, Jackson, are determined that they are going to be walking Violet, Sugar's daughter, to and from school to ensure that nothing happens to her and they vow to also keep a close eye on Sugar.
This small town story has it all. Friends to enemies to lovers, high school sweethearts, friends to lovers, sibling hate to friends.
I will be reading the third and final book in this series, Leaving Home, which follows Emery, Sugar's best friend.
This is the second book in the Show Globe Care series, and has some of the same issues as the first. The point of view changes, seemingly at random. Too much of the story is told by the characters rather than lived in front of the reader--example, the main character, Sugar, is getting ready to reopen her grandfather's cafe/bakery, and is worried and nervous about it the night before. The next scene, instead of being the opening of the cafe, takes place days or weeks later and it's barely mentioned, and again, only in the characters thoughts. The backstory is melodramatic, and parts of the narrative skips around. There are hints at a mystery, maybe a stalker, that turns into a non event. There's more wrong word usage. It just feels like a first draft that needs a lot of tweaking. The potential is here, it's just not there yet.
This story will definitely get you thinking of things from one’s past. Sadly kids and sometimes adults can be very hurtful, always trying to outshine or make someone feel less than. Sadly this stuff is still happening and only we can change it. As for this author, she did an amazing job with how bullying, teasing, and cruelty can hurt others. Now grown up, Sugar along with her daughter are seeing how some people can still be cruel, yet others go out of their way to right things. This story is full of love, forgiveness, kindness, compassion and giving your heart to a new love.

This Series was great! I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to Book Three. This author addresses ADHD and bullying in these two books. I love how she shows the creative/genius side of ADHD as well as the emotional/anxious side that also plays a part in these kids lives. It's a struggle, but one that with lots of love and understanding you can learn to live with. Thank you so much Kelly Carlton... you have a new fan 💖
This is the second book in the Snow Globe Cafe series and I read the books back to back. Wonderful small town Christmas story with lots of romance family issues and a very sweet little girl called Violet. Looking forward to what the next in the series brings.
This is a well written story on how a young girl with ADHD changed her life and became a well known baker with her own business as well as an online business that both were very well received by all. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
This story was not st all what I expected. Loved it. Thought it was just another story about Christmas and someone finding their way "home" for Christmas. Instead it was a fun, light read.
Can she adjust to life in a small town and accept her new to findings?
After finding out truths from her past, her desire to open a small bakery in her mother's hometown; opens up the past. Can she accept these truths and move forward with her life?
Book one in this series was a surprise find. I enjoyed it a lot. Things got even better after I read book two. I’m off to download the third book and really look forward to reading it.
What a great continuation of the series. Very enjoyable and relatable. Thankful for the happy ending. Almost wanted a little more danger with the Christmas/Hunter scene? But very well written.
Great book. I love the story line and the characters . I hope there are more books to the series that follows the others, Alex, emery, more on Jackson and sugar.
Finding Home: Snow Globe Café Book Two is by Kelly J. Calton. This book deals with getting a business started while making a television show and raising a child alone while planning your Mother’s wedding to your Father. It makes for a delightful book. Sugar Jones was not sure she had made the right decision in coming back to Snow Valley from San Diego. Luckily, her business was one she would do from nearly anywhere. Her best friend, Emery, and her husband Josh had helped her create an empire in the baking industry. Josh helped her take her baking to the internet and be able to make money by selling on the internet. Her friend, Emery, kept her up to date on marketing while her secretary, Vanessa, kept things running in the office. Meanwhile, Sugar was left to create cookies and recipes and to make videos. She also was invited to join in making a film on a Baking show. Over several sessions, she out bakes and designed masterpieces for the show. However, she did make an enemy or two while filming. Living in Snow Valley brings back bad memories of her being bullied as a child because she had ADHD and was being raised by an unwed mother. Her Father was a member of one of the three leading families in town. His Father decided his son would marry another partner’s daughter to keep the money in the family. Unfortunately, Eric was unable to go against his Father at that time so married, leaving Becca out in the cold to raise his daughter. Sugar was definitely not close to her half brother and sister, Alex and Madison. Madison especially was trouble for her. With Becca and Eric now back together, that brings all the family members together which may not be such a good idea. What problems can arise when they all get together?
Sugar has gone thru so much but became a wonderful person and is raising her daughter to be a wonderful person as well. I am glad that her and Jacksonwere able to work it out and that Madison and Sugar is starting to work out a relationship.
You know when it’s a good when it ends and you want more
I enjoyed this book and the one that proceeded it in this series. I was easily swept into the story and lives of these well developed characters. It was well paced and a truly enjoyable read. Can’t wait for the next release
