Trouble’s a-brewing in Bigfoot Bay...

When the tavern fool is found floating in a vat of green beer at the local Irish pub, I can't help but get charmed into the case.

Because, really, what else do I have to do?

I still can’t return to the city. My fiancé is still sporting bulging eyes and webbed feet. And my reckless witch of a sister is still MIA.

And, oh yeah. I might have been the last one to see Old Man Callahan alive.

** Bewitched Brew is the second book in the Bigfoot Bay Witches cozy mystery series. It's not necessary to read book one first as each book has its own mystery, but due to the overarching storyline, it's more enjoyable to start at the beginning. **

Cat Larson

Cat Larson never has to look further than her own backyard for inspiration - her small eccentric Midwestern town with its own cast of colorful characters provides plenty of fuel for her imagination.

She's surrounded by acres of untamed forest and lakes with no shortage of peculiar creatures to write about. While sipping her first of many cups of coffee for the day and popping handfuls of wild blueberries, Cat is greeted by the extended family of frogs who share her land.

However, unlike her stories, none of these frogs were once human (that she's aware of).

It's Saint Patrick's Day and Samm Hain, a witch, is called to investigate the death of Mr. Callahan.

This humorous paranormal mystery has a lot going for it. Quirky characters, spot-on humor, a clever story, and plenty of twists.

A good Saint Patrick's Day read.

Frogs, red coats and magic

For the first time ever, I struggled to read this book. I found it confusing, characters were many and their way of life baffling. I did struggle to the end but I doubt if I will read any more in this series. Sorry.... It just was so discombobulating. Probably just me .YOU may like it , I didn't - sorry!

These are fun books

I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. The characters are now more familiar, even if they’re still hard to keep up with. But I have a feeling that will become easier to do the longer Samm stays in Bigfoot Bay and the more books I read.
Lots of secrets revealed in this book. It was pretty darn exciting too. But where in the heck is Violet??

Still no end but little better than the first one

I don't know why it is appealing that the protagonist stumble on the killer. There is no wit in Samm at all. Even if she suppressed her whichy self for long time, she should have at least some sort of sixth sense. But no, she is just a very bad narrator.

Do yourself a favor & bypass this book! Totally confusing! I had to speed read cause didn't want to just stop and not finish it. The beginning started as if it was the middle of a prior book and the ending is probably the beginning of another book.

I liked this read, yet since I have not read the 1st book, I am a bit lost on some of the stuff going on. I am now looking for the 1st book to read. It seems strange that she is a witch and yet does not seem to do any magic.....so to the 1st book I need to go and then finish the others in order.

Good fun with frog

Well the heading says it all, and while the conventional crime was solved, other non conventional questions remained unanswered and unsolved. I’m not that interested to buy the next book though.
Completely clean, well written, no errors at all.

Cute idea, interesting setting and secondary characters--unfortunately, the heroine Sammara Eve Hain is so completely oblivious that it ruins the otherwise fun, paranormal cozy mystery series. The first book in the series was an enjoyable set up for the series. The writing, the characters, the story flow were all well done. Instead of improving/continuing to build the characters and the setting in the second book, the main character gets more and more clueless to the point where I didn't get past the halfway point before I just got too frustrated with her stupidity to keep going. So, to be fair she might develop some brain cells toward the end of this book, I'm just not willing to slog through her obliviousness to see if it gets better. That's unfortunate because I was really liking Bigfoot Bay and the secondary characters in this series. It's just hard to read a book when you develop an active dislike for the character you're supposed to be identifying with/rooting for.

I could understand her stupidity and refusal to see reality if she was unaware of the magical world, but she's not. She was raised in a magical family, she has knowledge of magic and witchcraft even if she's turned her back on it, so it makes absolutely zero sense for her to be so completely obtuse about the paranormal aspects of the storyline, in the character's thoughts, words and actions. This one ended up on my Did Not Finish list, which is unfortunate because the writing and world-building aspects were good. I just couldn't stomach the lead character's ignorance enough to plow through.

Bewitched Brew #2 - This book picks up where Ice ends. It drive me a little crazy about the continuous "where's Violet?" theme, but the storylines are interesting.

The characters are developing more and Samm is stumbling all over the place. Fernando's camouflage talent is a pretty good touch, but the phone did not get hardly any action. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book from Booksprout. 4*

Witch on Ice#1 - This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed the book. I like the dry sense of humor used throughout the pages. While I don't care about witches who deny their birthright, I like the interesting storylines although the book started a bit slow.

The good characters are well thought out with good personalities. I did not care for the ending since it left unanswered questions but this is a series. I had fun with the phone, which I consider an interesting character on its own. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*

The colour, size changing frog has a new girlfriend?

A good read. Okay a bit frantic and a bit of a romp but entertaining light reading all the same. The plot is a continuation from the first book but with the added twist of two old friends falling out and a body in a vat of beer. Green beer, after all it is St Patrick's. Why have the two fallen out? What has been stolen? Why is the red coat so important? Why has her frog now started to change size as well as colour? Where is her sister?
All these questions and more abound as she lurches from one gaffe to another. But when she is kidnapped - who or what will come to her rescue?

This a great continuation of the first book "Witch On Ice". Fernando Samm's (Eve) boyfriend is still a frog and will only eat blueberries from Sage's garden. The phone still has a dead battery and will not charge, but still takes rings through for certain people. There is another murder for Samm to investigate involving the local Irish pub, McGuiness Inn. This series involves, witches, snakes, murder and mystery with a touch of romance.

I love the characters and how they interact. This is a really fun cozy that carries on from the previous book. Though a stand-alone mystery, it does pick up where the first book left off. I enjoyed this book and love this series.

Loved the book

Sam us still looking for her sister, her fiance is still a frog and strange things are happening in Bigfoot Bay, can Sam believe what she's seeing as her witchy senses are making a comeback or will she still think that she's not meant to be part of her home town and go back to Chicago and why is Sal her fiance's brother looking for him .

We get to know a little more about the town and people. I actually got some what mad at Samm and how hostile and jumping to conclusions she was. My light bulb went off on the wanky phone calls in this book. Look forward for book 3.

This book is really good and it picks up where the first book ended, it's a standalone mystery but it does keep you in the loop. Awesome characters and even better storyline.

Stolen items, soapy amulets, a murder (maybe), leprechauns, pixies, and witches, oh my! So many interesting things happening in Bigfoot! Such a fun story, I hated when it ended. Can’t wait for more!
