I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.
Wow!!!!!!! I honestly don’t have words to adequately express how incredibly impressed I was by this AMAZING trilogy! This is one of those stories where, when you finish, you want to write a letter to the author, asking how the he|| they came up with something so extraordinarily innovative and phenomenal! No exaggeration, this is the best story I have read in YEARS (and I read over 200 books each year)! It literally has a little bit of everything from creepy/gritty dark to ultra pitch black depravity, an endearing, beautiful romance, smoking hot sex, psychotic religiosity, mental illness, mystery/suspense, angst, FBI, decoding secrets, digging up graves, an old mental asylum, curses, conditioning, torture and more. Ugh….I loved every word! Well, as a proofreader/editor myself, I would have enjoyed those words even more if they had been professionally proofed and edited (which this trilogy obviously was not), but the story was so good that I was able to overlook that!! A+++, Lucian!!!
I don't think anyone could have told this story better. Lucian takes the stories from past insane asylums and their practices and turns it into this incredible fictional story. You become connected to the main characters Solomon and Chaos. There's always a little something about each of them that is yet to be told as the story goes on. I actually took a breather in between parts because it was heavy and weighed on my emotions. It evoked strong feelings of empathy in me making me feel as tormented as these characters. The first part of the story unveils the characters and you get to enjoy learning about them and experiencing their interesting and unique interactions. The second part is quite heavy and what I would consider really important for the sake of understanding the subject matter and the third part pulls it all together. It is a really well written story. It's horror mixed with the perfect amount of romance. It's a really great balance in a sub-genre that I imagine could be difficult to pull together in the same story. Outlandishly well done!
Wow!!! What an a-ma-zing story!! 😍 To make it easier for myself, I'd like to quote my BBFF. She perfectly put my thoughts and feelings into words in her review! 😉 I honestly don’t have words to adequately express how incredibly impressed I was by this AMAZING trilogy! This is one of those stories where, when you finish, you want to write a letter to the author, asking how the hell they came up with something so extraordinarily innovative and phenomenal! It literally has a little bit of everything from creepy/gritty dark to ultra pitch black depravity, an endearing, beautiful romance, hot sex, psychotic religiosity, mental illness, mystery/suspense, angst, FBI, decoding secrets, digging up graves, an old mental asylum, curses, conditioning, torture and more. Ugh….I loved every word! All that being said: there also were unanswered questions and unresolved issues after finishing Desecrating Solomon The Trilogy. 🤔 I hoped those would be answered and clarified in The Queen ~"the epilogue which didn't happen" as Lucian Bane called it~ but unfortunately that did NOT happen!!! 🤬 That aside, my rating for the complete trilogy: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If not for the many loose ends, this book would definitely go on my ab-fav-5plus-stars shelf!! 🤩 Honestly, it took me a while to get into the story (if this book had not been highly recommended by my BBFF, I probably would have put it aside, lol!), but when I got into the story.... dayam, I could not put it down!!!!! Best story I read in a while! I was a little misled by the mention on the cover 'inspired by true events'. 😰 But then I began to realize that 'inspired by' is not the same as 'based on', 😉 so ~thank gawd!~ this was not a true story. 🙏🏼
Desecrating Solomon I just started this book today and honestly, I couldn't put it down. I read the blurb and was intrigued. Then I read the warning telling me this romantic thriller was based on actual events. That was in the back of my mind as I was reading this book and sweet bejeebers, there were actually times when my blood ran cold. This is such a dark, twisted story wrapped around an unbelievable amount of innocence. My heart is racing, I've had to hit backspace as many times as I've hit the correct keys because my hands were shaking, and yet I can't wait to start the next book to find out where Mr. Bane takes me next.
Desecrating Solomon II Really?!? You won't be the same Lucian Bane has taken these characters and this reader on an emotional and terrifying ride to the depths of the earth where the monsters live. It all started so innocently. I can't even begin to tell you what happens because it would give it away and I can't do that to you, as the reader, or Mr. Bane, as the author. Just prepare yourself, if you can, for an intense read and voicing several explicative with the ending. Thank goodness book 3 is already out because the cliffhanger is a doozy.
Desecrating Solomon III I was completely blown away by this book! The storyline seamlessly picked up where Book 2 left off. The intense situation and various scenarios all culminated in creating a nail-biting experience that made my heart race. Evil must be stopped, and Chaos has received a dream that holds the answer. However, Solomon is hesitant to let her go again. Lucian Bane has taken me on an incredible journey filled with a range of emotions, from trepidation to awe to nervous chills due to its intensity. And the love shared between Solomon and Chaos was all-consuming and undeniable. This book was truly epic - there's no other word for it!
As ususal with a Lucian Bane book, this trilogy is chock full of confusing events, strange but endearing people and more questions than answers. But I loved it.
Solomon Gorge is called back to his home town to care for an elderly woman, Mary who is in a wheelchair. He traps animals for her to keep as a sort of zoo. He knows he is adopted, but the woman he knew as his mother is dead, and his father dropped him off with his Aunt and Uncle years ago so he could find out what happened to her. Their relationship is strained at best.
Chaos has been raised at the asylum and has been brutally treated and brainwashed for most of her life. She is convinced that there must be a desecration in order to lift the curse on the town. She screams Solomon's name and he hears her in his dream. Thinking it was Mary, he goes to her house to find it wasn't her. On his way home, he finds Chaos hanging upside down in a tree, bruised and bloody. He takes her home and cares for her wounds and tries to find out who she is and where she comes from.
As they get to know each other and feelings develop, lines star to blur with Chaos and she starts to question what she has been told her whole life. Things get really crazy from there.
I feel like there should be more, though. More answers. Why were these people really doing what they were doing? Why was the town so oblivious to all the deaths at the asylum. And who was the Queen and what was her agenda?
At the end of the book the author states there is an epilogue available at the end of the trilogy, but it wasn't in this book. It also says if I subscribe to his newsletter I will receive a copy of the epilogue, so I will try doing that. I really want to see that epilogue, LOL.
So the horror keeps compiling and adding to the crazy and unthinkable only to have a really great fight scene then ends with a happy ending. Love once broken is reunited and Chaos was able to kick some demon butt with the help of Vengeance the Angel.
Although a fantastic writer, I am so glad to be done with this trilogy. I will stick to his other stories because horror is not my genre. Too many inhumane, demonic and surreal behaviors and actions were just too disturbing to process. There is too much ugly in the world and I prefer crazy sexy fun.
First and last books by this author. He seemed more interested in the sex descriptions than in the story itself. Pages and pages of sex between the two humans (?) supposedly to be he principal characters of this chaotic, inane and absurd story. I love the kind of trilogy this one was supposed to be, but it was like sitting down to eat and forced to ingest just the one dirty dish after the other, and with no originality either, because it was repeat and repeat and repeat the same sex scene ad nauseum. The rest of the story? What story? Description in two words? Sex and Blood. That's it.
A great trilogy! Very intense! So much feelings between Chaos and Solomon. Goes to show you there is always a little bit of light no matter how dark it gets. Love be will always win.
Book 1 Lucian Bane’s mind is beautifully sick and twisted and I LOVE IT! I always know that when I pick up one of his books I’m going to go on a roller-coaster ride that leaves my head spinning and Desecrating Solomon did not disappoint. This book is a dark-read at its finest and had me going “WTF” too many times to count but WTF in a good way as this story definitely appealed to my darker twisted side. I also liked this book because there were also funny parts that left me chuckling and a true dark read sprinkled with just the right amount of humor is the best! This story didn’t have as many “sexy” scenes as I thought it would and without giving away any spoilers I will say that the scene that revealed what it meant that Chaos was “not prepared” was a true WTF moment – I mean how does this author think up this shit??? LOL! I have no idea how Solomon and Chaos are going to get out of the situation that they were in at the end of this book and I can’t wait to find out! Definitely 5 fricking stars!
Book 2 ebook (edit) Review Wow - what a freaky fricken book! Lucian Bane sure has one sick and twisted mind. If you want a dark read that includes scenerios that would only be found in your worst nightmares then this is the book for you. This is a story about a cult who does sick and twisted things all in the name of God and in their crazy minds they doing these things to cleanse a curse from their town. I will say that parts of this story left me frustrated, similar to watching a scary movie and the characters hear a sound and go and investigate - uggh, why why why? People you just escaped, why would you go to the "psycho people's" crazy doctor's farm? Extremely frustrating, but kept me on my toes. Trippy story, great writing and characters - a must read!
Book 3 What a great book and ending to this series! Whenever I read a Lucian Bane book it doesn't disappoint!
This book will take you on one dark, thrilling, emotional journey…. The way the story is written will pull you in and you can feel the emotions, you can feel the horrors but you also can feel the passion that Solomon and Chaos share. They come together in a world of terrifying darkness .. their love for each other is all consuming and you can feel the heat. I was held captive to the words, mesmerized by the story, intoxicated by the love… One freaking fantastic read!!
Wow, this series is epic. It's about Solomon and Chaos. They meet and go through so much. It's definitely a story that will keep you reading page after page. I wasn't able to stop once I started. My emotions were all over the place. I cried and laughed. Another amazing series by Author Lucian Bane! You don't want to miss this one!
This is dark , so if you triggers I suggest you do not read . As usual Mr. Bane did not disappoint . Keep you right on the edge of your seat until the end. The WHOLE time the solution was right in front of you. Thank you Mr. Bane for sharing your talent .
This was a brutal, AWESOME series. This series has everything to offer a reader and is based on a true story. There's a dark secret in this town. Chaos is sent to seduce Solomon and bring him back to the master. Suspense, romantic Thriller, unspeakable torture, secrets and sexual abuse. ( If you have triggers, don't read )
This is one of my favorite authors. It's been an honor to watch him grow, with every book he writes. He can write in any genre. He constantly keeps his fans on our toes. So beware!!! Once you start, you can't stop!!
Thriller This trilogy of books had me at the edge of my sit the whole entire time. I kept thinking one thing but comes to find out it went a total different direction. Chaos and Solomon were the true version on Romeo and Juliet...even thought hey didn't die. I'd just wish he could of giving us the epilogue or maybe another book. I truly loved this story and highly recommend this to all my friends who love to read suspense. Thank you Lucian for an incredible story yet again. 5 stars for sure.
