This is the fourth book in Burton's Demon Hunters series and despite the fact that it's been awhile since reading the third book, I still remembered what was going on.

This plot started exactly where the last book left off, so it began mid action. I liked the chemistry between Isabelle and Dalton and there were some definite steamy moments. I also liked the background scenes with Michael and Mandy, I have a feeling their book is coming up soon.

The storyline with the demons is ever evolving but I felt that the heroine and hero overshadowed that plot with their own story. I didn't really like the explanation for Dalton's, shall we say... questionable heritage?

Not my favorite of the series, but still good enough to keep me interested in what happens next.

I started reading this book based on a recommendation made by a friend. I had no idea that it was a part of a series when I began reading it. I loved the perspective of the couple, her trying to fight to be more human than demon and him trying to keep his past a secret while saving her. The take on demons and demon hunters, with the eventual angels thrown in was really interesting. And even though it's book four, it was a great introduction to this series.

Finally! Taken by Sin redeemed this series for me. The first 3 books were ok and I was just trying to finish the series so I could move on. But then… it happened! Jaci Burton started some interesting world building and things were taking turns I didn’t expect and I loved it! The chemistry that Isabelle and Dalton have is sizzling hot and has some of my favorite sex scenes. They are for sure my favorite couple of the series. I think my favorite part was when Dalton got into the bath with Isabelle and Dalton grabbed her feet and put them on his chest then gave her a foot rub! Are you kidding me *sigh* If its possible I would totally jump in this book and snatch that man for myself.

What I think I really like is that we get an insight on what the other hunters are doing and feeling. With that being said… Mandy, Mandy, Mandy! I want to read her story and if the series continued then I know we would have gotten it.

Sadly, this series isn’t going to continue (unless Burton has something up her sleeve). We are left with a HFN overall, but at lest all our characters have gotten their HEA.

Definitely not my normal read. I'm not much into the whole sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal stuff, but this was still a pretty good book. It's hard to review since I can't compare this book to others of this genre since I've not read others. I can honestly say that while I enjoyed the book, I don't see me picking up more of this style. Not for any particular reason, I just tend to live in the real world and don't believe in all the other stuff.

Back to the book itself, it's basically a battle of dark vs. light, good vs evil. There are a couple of characters that I really liked in the book, and neither are the main characters. That seems a bit odd to me, but it's the way that it is. There was a little christian type twist to the ending that I didn't like as part of the book because I don't believe that voodoo is God's way at all.

I think the Demon Hunters series is one of those series that just grows into you. To be honest, there is nothing about this story (or the series in general) that actually stood out and makes me go "Wow!" but it is none the less enjoyable.

Furthermore, the series actually got better with each book so I have to give JB props for improvement!

Taken By Sin is well balanced in terms of romance and action. Plus, there are actually two characters feature in the plot; Isabelle and Dalton, and Michael and Mandy. I guess by featuring two couples, it helps to create a lighter tone to the whole plot because readers are exposed to the development of their respective relationships as opposed to alternating between the budding romance between one couple and fighting the demons in the following chapter.

So, I took sooo long to read this because during the first 10 chapters, it was just so boring and repetitive. We get it "fight the evil Isabelle" "I see goodness in you" bla bla bla. I was about to delete this book, but I was just so damn intrigued about Dalton, when BAM! his secret is revealed and it picked up from there. That was a total 180. I was expecting him to be a demon, but yea the whole white light thing should have given it away. But I'm glad I hung around because I liked Micheal and Mandy's story better. I hope to read them next, but gosh the son of darkness need to know when to hang tail and just run and give up -_- how many more men can Satan and the Hunters pick off? I hope M&M's book has a different feel to it. And at some point with all this unprotected sex, I expect to see some babies dammit!

In Jaci Burton's Taken by Sin, the 4th installment in the Demon Hunters paranormal romance series, we were taken into the world when good versus evil and love conquers all. For Dalton, he was a fallen angel who wanted to redeem himself for taking a non-demon life. Instead, he swore to protect Isabelle from the Sons of Darkness, when she had half-demon blood inside her. As he had fond a way to save her, he fell in love with her, too. But it came with some difficulties and challenges along the way, like the demon hunters who were after him for going after Isabelle. But truth be told, they learn his secret and what he had to do to save her. In the end, he chose the right choice to be with her as they vanquished the evil inside her together.

This focused more on just specific characters since the main characters were split from 'the group'. There were no big fight scenes with demons...it seemed more like a transitional novel to introduce new problems, new demons, etc. It followed the typical tradition of focusing on one couple's story mainly, but introducing another couple's a bit in order to introduce for the next book. All in all it wasn't my favorite because it just didn't grab me as much. Maybe I wasn't as vested in the characters because I didn't feel their emotional link as much. I am looking forward to the next story because I felt a stronger interest in the secondary couple's story that was introduced!

It has a difficult start and after the previous book, The Darkest Touch its difficult to want to read about Isabelle and Dalton.

Foreshadowing on Dalton, is way too obvious I mean come on. Isabelle bugged me with her self pitying, woe is me thing.

It's an okay book, I wouldn't throw it at my friends unless they were lonely for some Jaci Burton and had read the rest of the series (which was far better before deteriorating in the middle of book 3).

This is a story about Dalton and Isabelle. Dalton takes Isabelle to the Louisiana Bayou to a home he has hidden there to help protect her from those that are out to kill her. There we meet Georgie who is a Voodoo priestess. She is a good Priestess, not into black magic. She helps Dalton help Isabelle find herself and discover what she is and what her abilities are.

There is passion, romance and a total melding of the two as far as abilities are concerned. It is a beautiful story about the power of love and what sacrifices one will make for the other.

Unlike the earlier books in this series - this is a relationship novel not an action one. The story continues from where The Darkest Touch left off, with Dalton taking Isabelle away [rather than killing her as ordered:] to try to save her. Interesting secrets are revealed, new bad guys are discovered, and the Realm of Light starts the healing process from the disasters that occurred at the end of The Darkest Touch.

I liked this book in the demon hunter series, but not as much as the others. There wasn't alot of battles with the demons, more of the battles with Dalton and Isabelle's personal demons. One aspect of the book that I enjoyed was Georgie and her voodooness. It was also watching Mandy deal with her personal demons in dealing with Lou's death. I think there will be more there to come. So while this book was ok, it did move the larger story line along.

Having read the previous book was ready for this one by the time I got it in my hands. when first seeing Dalton takes off with Isabelle it makes you wonder what was he thinking. You find out exactly what as you read on. Of course others go looking for them but who first will be the finder is revealed. Great emotional ending. Add in passion between the two also can't forget that.

I believe this may be my favorite of this series. Dalton's true self was no surprise, but fit with the story nicely. The relationship was real. I love the Bayou setting. Adding Voodoo was a plus. The sex was hot and beautiful. I must read Michael and Mandy's story.

thought it was not going to be a good book but once you get past the 30 or 40 pages, it grabs you and you don't want to put it down.

Better than the others in the series but still just wasn't that into it. Starting to think I am in a rut. And what's with all the angel books lately?
