it's a nice book beautifully written and well described. I think it's a realistic novel based on someone's life. It's still wonderful how the author keep us reading this book. It's a bit of lengthy to read. The is twist at every chapter. And is a complete package for rollercoaster emotions. It has love, sad, guilty, greed, and forgiveness. This book is full of emotions. I liked it. The character's are also well written like Johnnie, Freda and Maureen. Personally I liked Maureen because in life we all want someone like Maureen who help us getback to the reality that whatever happens in life however bad it is we have to move on because it's our life that we have to live.

This is the best looking edition from the others.

Newly discovered author when in the pound shop:)
One of the reasons this book captured my interest was because of the local to me East End setting:)

Another interest and discovery was the fact that the author writes that the hipsters Started moving into to the East End years before I had thought.

If I could time travel, I would be a millionaire, due to the price of property then (the book is set in the 1970s) and the mega £££ East End property is now.

I found this an easy quick read . First time reading anything by Sally Worboyes and liked the plot based in the East End of London.
This is a family saga , based around 2 sisters in the Brown family , and the author has included themes of tragedy , abuse , theft and fraud , into the storyline .
An inviting cover lures the reader into this well written book and I found myself turning the pages well into the night
Anyone who enjoys the ups and downs in a family will find this a good read and I recommend it for a wide age group
