Bewitching Fire

Rate this book
Krystal Hayden, a witch and co-owner of the Perfect Books and Brews coffee shop with her two best friends who are also witches, prides herself on being the steadying force amongst her friends. She always has an answer, keeps her cool, and never lets a little stress get to her. But one day, she has the pleasure of meeting the new cop in town, Devin Daniels who is a transfer from the Boston police department. He’s hot, enchanting, and they seem to be cut from the same cloth. She gives in to this feeling, thinking that a little fling wouldn’t hurt anyone. Little does she know, they’re Twin Flames.
Krystal’s dark elemental magic emerges and whenever things get too hot and heavy between her and the hunky cop, the fire just isn’t in their eyes. Devin’s got his own problems when a pattern of ritualistic murders start popping up in town, targeting the supposedly sinful characters of the community. Krystal and her friends endeavor to help Devin, but how much could magic possibly do when magic might have been the catalyst for the murders?

This was a great mystery/paranormal romance with a bit of darkness and spice mixed in. I loved the banter between Krystal and her friends, and how light and fun the opening of the book is. It contrasts nicely with how dark and tense things become later. I loved Devin and Krystal’s chemistry, and it was fun watching them grow closer. The complications that arise from it with her magic added an interesting layer to the romance side of the plot. The murders that start happening, and the race to discover who or what is behind them, adds a serious layer of tension and urgency to the story. The pace definitely feels like it picks up after they’ve begun, but I’d say it isn’t so slow at the start you’d lose interest. If you’re looking for a good, bit of spice paranormal romance with best friends, witches, mixed with a murder mystery, then you need to read this!

OOOOOH this author gets dark and dirty and I like it. Witches and twin flames? Oh yeah this goes against all standards and will set the council off in the worst kind of conniptions but oh what fun. That is until the darkness emerges and it's not playing fair. This the first book in what ends up as a great fun read lets us get to know the ladies who are doing what they can for their community. Of course nothing is easy with these three and with a ritualistic killer in the midst it's gonna get messy. Thrills and chills, chaos and action make this an awesome read with characters that will pull at yor heart and make you smile. Absolutely loved it.

Krystal Hayden is a witch and co-owner of Perfect Books and Brews coffee shop. As a witch one of the first rules is to not bring any kind of attention to them that might risk exposure. But Krystal is a bit of a rebel and for the past 5 years, her and the other owners of the coffee shop, Alexa and Valerie, have been helping their small community by charming coffees for the citizens who seem to need the most help.

Devin Daniels is the new officer on duty in the small town. After transferring from Boston Devin is looking for something a little bit more slow paced and without all the dangers that a big city has. He wasn't looking to hit it off with the local barista.

They have a chemistry that can't be denied. But for Krystal, Devin has ignited more than just lust in her. Her dark elemental magic emerges every time she thinks about him. This definitely makes things harder for Krystal to keep secret when she's going up in flames every time they're together. On top of that there's now a killer in the small town that hasn't seen any crime more harmful than a dead tail light.

For a new series this book was actually really good. A bit slow in the beginning, but once things started to pick up pace it kept my interest a bit more.
My only complaint about this book was the lack of explanations of Twin Flames. It's mentioned in the synopsis that Krystal and Devin are Twin Flames, however, not once is it every mentioned or acknowledged by Krystal nor her mother mother.

Krystal and Devin...I really loved their dynamic. I love reading books like this that keep you on your toes throughout the book. It was a tad slow at the beginning but quickly picked up. I'm a fan of her work and I believe this is the first of this type she's written that I've read and I loved it. These 2 are definitely not looking for love but something happens...well more than their lust. Devin jump starts her powers so to speak and she just cant keep that quiet. Krystal's always been in control and now that she is having trouble she doesnt like it. Devin is a cop looking for a slower life and thinks this small town has it. We cant have everything and he's got murders to solve. I enjoyed the other characters of the book as well and honestly thats difficult to do. Its rare that I like a book that something doesnt bother me about the characters and nothing has in this book. Its a wonderful start to the series and I cant wait for more of course! Well done!

This is the first book in the Bewitching Brews series and I'm loving it. Krystal Hayden co-owns Perfect Books and Brews coffee shop and her friends help it run it and they are all witches. One morning Goldcrest Cove newest police officer Devin Daniels with his partner Aaron come into the store , and they both can feel that there is something between them. ( I like the part where Krystal would have like to thrown her apron off and chased him down) But Devin has brought out something else out of Krystal and that is her dark elemental magic. Things are going to get hot between them, and that's giving Krystal a hard time of keeping her magic quiet. But the quiet little town isn't so quiet when a killer comes to town. This is a great book and even better there is going to be at least 2 more to follow it. I think I'll go re-read it now, I might have missed something

Being the first in a series the author seems to be giving you lots of details that I am guess will follow through to other books. The 3 witches own the only coffee shop/bookstore in town and have an agreement with the pastry shop that each shop stays in their lane.  The whole town is magical for the most part yet the non-magical people have no clue.  I liked the fact they help the people in their community by charming the coffee yet keep it to only 5 a day.  The new comer thinks that the way they do business and the fact they do not have enough employees should be fixed. Lol someone always think they now best.  Things heat up between Krystal and Devin and their story is this first book.  Lots of mystery lots of heat ! A fun first book

Krystal said her friends run a coffee shop and try to help people in little ways when they can. Devin is trying to start a new life after a bad incident in Boston. There is instant sparks between these two, but they both have their secrets. When a spell has unforeseen consequences things get deadly. I agree with others that it starts a bit slow but this really brings the town to life and sets the stage for all the characters. Once the story starts to pick up it gets really interesting and there's the question of who is the real enemy. There's explicit adult content and a bit of violence.

Krystal is one of the local witches running the coffee shop. Devin is the new cop in town. Obviously, their paths are going to cross. What cop doesn't enjoy a hot cup of java, right? Except they both get much more than they bargained for when they meet and sparks fly. This was a fun story to read. It has characters that begin to feel like friends from back in the day, a nicely build world where magic happens and a great story to dive into. I highly recommend this one.

It's a slow read but really engaging. The author is a wiz when it comes to descriptions of places. Even though I guessed about the bad guy, it was a thrill to see how it all came together. If I say any more about the characters, I may give some spoilers so I'll close my mouth. The title is perfect and connects to both main characters on a real level. A great read and totally worth the time.

I really enjoyed Krystal and Devins Story. I mean a hot cop and a witch. What could go wrong?! Loved all of the characters. I would love to visit this coffee shop. I could picture being friends with these ladies. Like others have said slow to start but picks up and wow. This is my first book from this author. I'll definitely be reading more of her work.

Krystal, a witch, runs and owns a bookstore cafe with her two friends. One day the new cop in town, Devin, walks in with his partner to get some of their famous coffee. Devin spots this beautiful woman behind the counter. He can't seem to take his eyes off her. Initiate drooling.

I thoroughly enjoyed Krystal and Devin's story. It's full of suspense and levity. I like how Krystal's first greatest fear turned out to be a non-issue.
