I’m a man who takes what he wants. What do I want? Her. Olive Kernes owned me a debt and she thought that she had paid it back. But now I want more. I want more than just her time. I want more than just her body. Her new life has torn us apart. Now, it’s up to me to make things right. I will make the pieces of our love fit back together if it’s the last thing I do. But can I do it in time?

BLACK EDGE Series (5 books!)
Mr. Black bought me at a secret auction on his yacht. I’ve never done anything like this before. What happens when one night isn’t enough?
You know when you read a series and you think to yourself "I don't ever want this to end" ... Well, that is this series for me, I just can't wait to read the conclusion but I don't want it to be over. 😭
Ms. Byrd really knows how to do cliffhangers, I am on the edge of my seat with anticipation to read on. 😳 I wasn't sure I was going to love this book because of the "separation", but I was so wrong!! I didn't know how I felt about Owen since being introduced to him a while back, but I certainly know now...what a jerk (putting it nicely). I was also hoping Olive was going to dig deeper with that file Nicholas gave her, and I wasn't disappointed.
Overall, this series is going to the top of my favorites list.
I received this ARC, and I am happily leaving a voluntary review. Happy Reading everyone!
What can I say, its good but I'm starting to look forward to ending the series. Can't help but think it's been stretched a little. I've enjoyed the books but it will definitely have put me off reading a series of books for a long time once I've finished these. I do hope the next one brings a good end to the whole story.
The fifth book in the Tell Me series by Charlotte Byrd, Tell Me to Fight has an awesome mixture of drama, turmoil heartache, secrets, lies, suspense, twists and turns, danger, and betrayal, that will keep you turning the pages.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

This series is good, but so frustrating. None of them is a complete novel. They all end at a cliff hanger point forcing you to purchase the next book at increasing prices. In total I spent way more on these ebooks for one complete story than I ever would have. The stories are good, but I feel tricked. Won,t be following this author again because of the trickery and a lot of self pro in the story as well.
: 3.5 stars—TELL ME TO FIGHT is the fifth instalment in Charlotte Byrd’s contemporary, adult TELL ME erotic, romantic suspense serialized novel. TELL ME TO FIGHT is the continuing story of Nicholas Crawford, and Olive Kernes and should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of instalment number four TELL ME TO RUN
SOME BACKGROUND: When an unknown benefactor pays off Olive Kernes’ student loans, our heroine doesn’t question but soon discovers that the mystery donor is looking for something more. Now that Olive has fallen for the man in question, Olive’s life will be forever tied to Nicholas Crawford, as Nicholas’ own freedom begins to collapse when he becomes the target of the FBI.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Olive and Nicholas) TELL ME TO FIGHT follows two distinct paths as the story focuses on Olive and Nicholas in the aftermath of their break up. Olive struggles to move forward with her life knowing all is not well with Nicholas on the run. Nicholas Crawford has been betrayed, and with it, he is a wanted man by the FBI. Desperate for money Nicholas must, once again, take a job he is reluctant to do, a job that could mean the end of his freedom or worse.
Meanwhile Olive Kernes struggles in the wake of Nicholas’ disappearance. From her brother’s erratic behavior, and the loneliness of having no contact with Nicholas Crawford, Olive takes the first step in moving forward without the baggage that has tied her down. Determined to learn about her past, a past that will welcome her with open arms, Olive goes in search of the mother she never knew with disastrous consequences.
TELL ME TO FIGHT is a character driven story that deviates from the earlier instalments as it focuses on the individual struggles of Olive and Nicholas, apart and separate from one another but saying that some of the story line felt more like filler, and some readers may take issue with the actions and choices of our story line couple. With Nicholas on the run, trying to stay one step ahead of the FBI, Olive must contemplate moving forward without the man with whom she has fallen in love. TELL ME TO FIGHT ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
I’m going to review the series as a whole because this was not a completed book. This is one book broken into 6 parts, NOT a series.
The characters where poorly developed. The story was choppy and incomplete. At one point there are two random chapters from a different POV and even that didn’t tell a whole story and there was no reason for it. It didn’t give us the information we were looking for.
What bothered me the most was the author plugging herself and her other novels in this book. There were basically random ads for herself throughout the book. It came across as arrogant and didn’t even further the plot at all. At one point she also goes on a tirade about how bookstores don’t carry independent authors and blasts them for it but then in the next breath blasts people who purchase from Amazon because it’s putting said bookstore out of business.
Tell Me To Fight by Charlotte Byrd What can I say other than Oh My the most amazing series I have ever read. This series is my number one. There is so much going on from the first book till this one, number five. I really didn't think this series could get any better but with each book it does. I fell in love with Olive and Nicholas from the beginning, they have so much chemistries together. Their story will tear at your heart and give you hope that they make it through this story. I can't wait till the next book comes out. I highly recommend this series and if it is the only series you read you will be happy you did. Thank-you to Charlotte Byrd for giving us readers so much joy, and I love this story. I received an advanced reader copy from bookfunnel and have voluntarily chosen to leave a review. This is my honest opinion.
WOW! This series just keeps getting better! Nicolas is all over the news, he’s a wanted man and his face is everywhere!
Olive has settled in California with her brother Owen. She sees the news but cannot believe that Nicolas is guilty of the crimes. She finally builds up the courage to meet her birth mother and find out the truth of her adoption.
Nicolas and Olive are reunited in the middle of nowhere, but things don’t go according to plan, and once again they are dragged apart - literally!
I am really looking forward to the final book to see if Nicolas and Olive get their HEA or has too much happened that the trust is gone forever!
I am forcing myself to read this series because they cost me $4.99 each! I am deleting each one after I read it, these books are horrible, don't waste your money!!!!!
Just thought that this series was supposed to be a little steamier. None of the scenes really finish then all of sudden its the next day or later or whatever.
Where it took me more than a week to read book 4, I managed to read this entire fifth installment in just one day. I think that’s because this part of the story takes us on a journey where so much happens and times are even more uncertain.
Where we left off in book four – Nicholas finds himself walking away from Olive – there are too many lies between them and too many obstacles (largely Owen) that really makes it impossible for them to be together. Nicholas leaves Olive with the stolen Monet painting and money so that they can finance their new identities and he takes the stolen jewelry to do the same.
So in this story, we find ourselves stating in Belize where Nicholas has landed. He had been there before, and knew that it was an island that he could disappear to where there was little chance of being discovered. He’s been there for a while now, just existing until one day his world crumbles – on the news is Art – the FBI agent that he did the last job for – bringing Nicholas to the top of the Most Wanted list. He needs to figure out his next move – how to get away under the radar now that his face is on the news online and TV constantly, and he plans to go to Thailand – a country where they won’t have much American News running all the time. He goes through Mexico and then. quickly learns that his accounts have been frozen, which means that someone found the person that made all his new identities and every account that was set up with a different name has also been compromised. As a result, Nicholas has to reach out to a contact in Vegas who gets him a job smuggling meth across the boarder to Cali and that gives him a bit of money to get around and plan next moves.
Then there’s the other side of the story with Olive and Owen. From the end of book four, we know that Olive’s birth mom was heading to California so that’s where they end up as well. Olive wants to meet her but doesn’t know how to make that connect. Instead, they settle into Palm Springs and try to make a life. They’ve got new identities as well since Owen is out on Parole and clearly not checking in. Being in CA gives Olive a new perspective in life. She’s on a fitness kick, she’s changed her diet and she’s got an appreciation for the world now that she never had before. On the flip side, Owen has gone down hill. He’s sullen, depressed, he drinks all the time and contributes nothing to their ‘family’. Instead, we learn that he’s still harboring these feelings towards Olive which aren’t reciprocated. It’s becoming an issue that will play out interestingly late in the book.
Throughout this fifth book, it’s fight or flight for everyone and uncertain futures. Olive wants to meet her mom and isn’t sure how that goes. When it seems to be an enlightening encounter, we hope for the best but really don’t know what that’s going to look like.
We know that Olive still has feelings for Nicholas and knowing that he’s so wanted makes her worry about him and miss him more. At the same time we know that Nicholas has never given up on how he feels about Olive and what that looks like in the future is really bleak given that they will likely never cross paths again. Or will they?
The last few chapters of this book are really riveting, we find ourselves at a point where freedom is just out of reach and yet at the same time, there are moments of happiness that eek through the clouds. There’s a real cliff hanger at the end here, we know that we have to fight but we don’t know how much fight is left. There’s an attack, a shooting, and an ambush – and now we don’t know where everyone is going to end up. I can’t wait to dive into book six. there was a moment during four when I was thinking about pausing but i’ve been sucked back in!
Prepare to cancel all your plans, because once you start the "Tell Me To..." series by Charlotte Byrd, you will not be able to stop. This 6-book saga is the definition of an addictive, high-stakes romance that grabs you from the first chapter of book one and doesn't let go until the final, breathtaking page of book six.
Charlotte Byrd has crafted a masterpiece of modern romance, weaving a complex web of secrets, lies, and undeniable passion. The journey of the main characters is an intense, emotional rollercoaster. Their relationship is fraught with tension, forbidden desires, and external threats that constantly test their bond. Watching them navigate the treacherous waters of their world is utterly captivating. Each book peels back another layer of the mystery, ending with cliffhangers that will have you immediately downloading the next installment.
What makes this series so brilliant is its sheer scope. Over six books, Byrd develops the characters and their world with incredible depth. You become completely invested in their lives, feeling every moment of their heartbreak, their triumphs, and their scorching-hot chemistry. The plot is intricate and suspenseful, blending dark romance with thrilling action that keeps the pages turning at a frantic pace.
This isn't just a story; it's an experience. The "Tell Me To..." series is a phenomenal achievement that delivers a deeply satisfying and unforgettable romantic journey. A clear and enthusiastic 5-star rating for a series that will own you from start to finish.
By this time in the "series" (should have been one book and not this drawn out drivel), I am utterly convinced that this is a money grab for the author. The story had potential and then was a bit fanciful and out there and now it's just ridiculous. It's like she's just making up the most outlandish twists and turns possible with no regard for the back story she's already provided us with. Where did Nicholas go, because the guy in these last two books is NOT -NO WHERE NEAR- the man who we were introduced to in the first book. Not only that but do we hav a clear reason he made this deal with Olive? He wanted to protect her because of his promise to his sister right? Or is it bc he needed her because she had a history of stealing from her college dorm mates and that's somehow useful as his actual job is Ocean's 11 type thief? Just laughable. Or maybe it's because she's actually an accomplished art thief. Make up your mind on what this book is. Also I just laughed and cringed everytime they stole something and "made and replaced it with a fake" are they now master forgers too? Give me a break. Why did I keep reading this?
the 5th book in this series, its mainly about Olive and Owen, only little bits about Nicolas
Nicolas is all over the TV as a wanted criminal, either someone hadn't kept their side of the bargain or someone had turned him in, the only thing he could do was get out of the country, but then he found that his fake bank accounts had all been frozen so he couldn't go anywhere so fled to Mexico
Olive and Owen moved to California and was living a good life although Owen was drinking more and more and Olive didn't like it, he was bullying her and she felt uncomfortable.
there are a lot of twists in this book that I don't want to spoil.
we only see Nicolas again at the end when they meet up and he is arrested by the FBI
I struggled through this book, like all the others. This book was a bit more bearable though because I did enjoy some parts of it. I’m beginning to realize that the only reason this series is so easy so read is because it’s so stretched out. This whole series could easily be made into one book, or two at most. But the fact it’s 6 is insane to me. For the first couple of books nothing even happened. There are so many pieces of information that are missing and the series just feels incomplete. This book series frustrates me because it has the potential to be an amazing series, the premise and plot of this series is beautifully structured and Zits very unique, I’ve never read or seen a series like it before. The execution is where is falls short. Im just ready to be done reading this series, and I’m praying it wraps up nicely compared to how it’s been going so far.
I really couldn't put this book down, I became so invested. The whole way through I was hoping & silently praying for the two main characters to somehow just reconnect... I went from feeling super excited to pure panic & stress all within 5 mins of reading. I love the way Charlotte Byrd pulls in her audience & literally has her readers unable to part with the book. Each book I finish I'm left want more & more & very eager to get to the next book. Absolutely fantastic work from this author. A+++
Great storyline so poorly executed. 1. Get an editor to proof your spelling, typos and lazy inconsistencies in scene evolution 2. Did you thread your story line and back stories before writing or was this stream of consciousness? So many facts and necessary causative hints were dropped in, out or completely dismissed. I don’t think I’ve read any author’s work who so thoroughly disappointed me. No wonder the shameless and incessant self congratulatory intrusions into the story with absolutely no storyline tie. This entire series appears through self publishing - not surprisingly.
Daaaaang I knew I hated Owen….. and FINALLY Nicholas and Olive have their moment of I love you’s… obviously I have to start the next book to find out what transpires with the FBI and their love story…. I have been annoyed about how I have to keep reaching for the next book but in reality it’s been a brilliant way to keep the reader engaged and onto the next! I am actually very impressed with how this series is playing out.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Another great book in this series. Yes, another cliffhanger, but it makes me hate having to wait a month. If you decide to read this book, you have to read the others in the series first or you will be disappointed and probably confused. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
Olive has found her real mother and her brother of many years thats not a real blood brother has tried to rape her because he says he loves her and theres no life without her meanwhile her and Nicholas have reconnected. Now the FBI has caught up with Nicholas and have arrested him.
Like the books earlier in the series, this was short and for some reason the last two books were $5.99/ea!!! Obviously I was hooked so I bought it anyway, but I wish the author would have made a trilogy instead of 6 small standalone’s. I really got tired of Olive and Owens relationship and was ready for Owen to be gone.
What?!? What just happened?! Are you kidding me??? No!! Just no!! Why is this happening?? I just can’t with this series!! I just can’t stop reading, I just can’t stop having all the feels, I just can’t stop loving every. single. word!!! Sorry this one is short, but I have to get into the next book like, right now!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There was so much good that happened but I’m so mad about the bad. I love the fact that Olive finally meets her mom an learns about the past. They finally found the words that needed to be said and I was so happy! The bad is Owen …. Again! Have to read the last book so I can find out what happens after that dumpster fire of an ending.
This is the fourth book in this series. So many things going on in this book. Owen, biological mother and finding Nicholas. The ending...I cannot believe Olive has anything to do the outcome. But who did? What happened to Owen? What happens next? Hum???
It took me a while to finish this one. Some parts of the story seemed to just go off into another direction lt felt rushed. The ending was wrapped up so quickly that it made the rest seem kinda pointless.
This one was way better than the 4th and had me SPRINTING to the next book. Finally getting answers to some things I had wondered about from the 1st book. I am sad to being so close to fishing this series, but so excited to see what happens!
