Мабуть, мамам сучасних дітлахів не варто розказувати, що таке "Майнкрафт". Цю гру, в якій можна творити (і витворяти))), визнано найпродаванішою в історії, а газета "Гардіан" поставила її на перше місце в переліку 50 найкрутіших ігор 21-го століття. Можна багато дискутувати з приводу того, добро несуть подібні комп’ютерні іграшки чи зло. Все залежить не лише від кількості часу, проведеного дитиною (чи й дорослим) за екраном ґаджета, а й від його якості. І тут у пригоді стають поради, котрі сприяють розвитку творчих навичок. Це можуть бути відеоблогери (яких я особисто практично терпіти не можу, бо корисної інформації там зазвичай крихти) або спеціальні книги (а це я люблю, ви в курсі))) Тож коли син під час чергового візиту то улюбленої "Книгарні Є" вхопив до рук цю книгу й заявив, що він без неї не вийде, я тішилася-тішилася-тішилася)))

Тішуся й зараз. Бо книга, по-перше, авторизована — видана компанією Mojang, яку заснував автор гри Маркус Перссон, тож у якості інформації сумніватися нема жодної причини. А по-друге, у ній дійсно багато чудово поясненої й структурованої інформації щодо використання червоного каменю (хто не в темі — це своєрідна електропроводка))) Різноманітні конструкції — від найпростіших до досить складних, знайомлять читача й гравця з основними принципами роботи електричного струму, а ще — різноманітних поршнів, автоматичних приладів, цілих автоматизованих цехів, робота яких запускається натисканням однієї кнопки. Опанувати логіку конструювання й спорудження таких будівель — хіба не плюс для дитини? Отож-бо. У цій серії побачили світ іще кілька книг, тож далі буде...

An excellent ADVANCED guide to redstone--but trust me, as someone who is n o t good with the stuff, the included tutorials (of which there are not many but not zero) are very very complex.

I have to admit when it comes to Minecraft, redstone is one of those things I just don't get. Picked up this book and thought I'd try to learn something from it but it quickly became so foreign to me and so complex that I end up going "huh?" most of the time. What differ with this book compare to others is that there are several instruction/builds that they showed you, which is quite good.

Ain't a bad book but definitely got confusing real quick.
I'll just go back to following YouTube tutorials step-by-step.

This "Minecraft: Guide to Redstone" is about its mechanics. This book tells you how to make automatic fireworks & secret door passage etc. This book should be for people who beat the game at least one time. This is not for beginners. They should have used something easier than Redstone Repeaters in their circuits. The best part of the book is when they showed how to move a piston up and down repeatedly.

I guess this is useful...? After reading (did this even help?) will use as a reference only as I don't understand Redstone any better than I did before. I wish things were more thoroughly explained. Especially "why??" Something that it does in certain circumstances make no logical sense!! I still feel lost and still only understand that Redstone is "used to power stuff."

+ Gives the player many ideas for circuits to build and try.
~ Introduces many useful circuits, but the explanation can be lacking.
- No classification or prioritization of different circuits. Important builds for gathering resources are mixed with purely aesthetic builds.

It was somewhat fine, I guess. The examples are pretty hard to understand. BUT- the beginning part, While outdated, was actually quite useful. So, I would recommend this book. You know a book is good when it gives a whole page to one thing xD

Good, but only applies to the original Java edition of Minecraft.It does not cover ANY of the several editions of Minecraft, coded in C, C++, and some low-level code such as Assembly Language.

Pretty decent for a minecraft redstone book, but it's outdated and the current minecraft version is far beyond what this book covers
