In a world full of Augments, individuals with powerful abilities, we see a portrait of two men:
- Foresight, a shining superhero with the ability to choose from all possible futures. - Mat Roche, a government functionary simply trying to do his best for his country.
The story begins on a scene of carnage, and slowly unfolds to reveal what brought these two into conflict. For though Foresight is a superhero here, with an infinity of possibilities available to him, who knows what else might have been?
What just happened?!? And I mean that in all the best ways. Retroactivity sucked me in, took me for a ride, and left me wanting more. The characters are interesting, and the concept of augments is thought-provoking. I need everyone to read this so we can work as a team to break down what just happened. This is definitely a read again book—at a slower pace this time.
An astounding splash on the superhero genre. Not your traditional take and certainly original. Only complaint is the lack of lore surrounding augments. Maybe expand on their origins, classifications in a sequel? Otherwise a job well done
