In life, the path of love is lined with heartache and filled with tears with the hard reality lying as an open field with bucket-load of memories left behind in the wide road behind. And so is life: filled with all sorts of delusions that are ready to snatch our presence from us. Prisha Bose finds herself in Mumbai with nothing but her best-friend's dying wish - to finish everything in the wish list that she couldn't. Prisha promises her to live the life she had only dreamt of. Moment by moment, Prisha shapes a life she had never thought of... Until Arav strolls in the café one afternoon, scattering all of her carefully knitted plans in the wind. Sometimes, an accidental meeting change lives forever. Sometimes, the universe makes us believe in fate and live through the stories. What You Wish For is the story of everyone whom life shaped the way they are. Where not everything happens as perfectly as it is thought of but what fate has in store for the reality, filled with heartache and agony that one faces in their life.
The story of “What you wish for” is around a girl Prisha Bose, who comes to Mumbai to fulfil her friend Ayesha’s dying wish - which was to check off everything from her wish list.
Ayesha unfortunately didn’t had enough time to complete it and thus Prisha promised her best friend to live the life she had always thought of living i.e. everyday as her last.
After much struggle she starts a job at a cafe, where she meets Arav who was a regular customer there. Slowly they start liking each other. But fate had something else in it.
Prisha has a dark secret, and she know that she can’t hide the truth. Slowly, the life she was trying to make flew away with wind as her secret comes out in front when her parents found her.
What was the truth she was hiding? Why did she came to Bombay? Why was she trying to complete the Wishlist soon? There are many questions which come to our mind as we read, and the answer to all is “What you wish for”.
It’s a tale of Prisha and Arav’s love and emotions which they struggle and face together or try to. A tale of Their deep love, caring emotions, hidden feelings, Cruel life and Broken belief yet strong hope.
It is A wonderfully crafted storyline with an emotional twist with A very pretty cover and sweet narration. The characters are well-developed by the author. This is a heart-breaking love story which will bring all your lovely emotions out and leave you broken at the end.
The language is simple and has a use of basic vocabulary which makes it an very easy read but the emotions it hold gives all the deep necessary weightage to it.
There were a few errors in it but those can easily be ignored in the overall context. The narration in the beginning was very slow-paced and a bit confusing, but it actually gets better as we progress and keep us hooked till the end.
This is a very realistic and a fast-read. Absolutely recommend to those who are looking for a light yet deep emotional book.
I picked this book due to it's intriguing and eye catchy title. The cover is indeed amazing with an alluring shine.
The story provides us an insight into the life of Prisha Bose by narrating her journey in Mumbai after shifting from Kolkata. She is completely clueless and has nothing but her best friend's wish and after sometime she meets Arav.
As we all know love changes a lot in you and something similar happened with Prisha too.
But at the rudimentary phase she seems like an enigmatic personality because somewhere she is driven by her friend's wish list.
I would say in the beginning I wasn't able to connect the dots because it was uneasy for me to figure out the sole purpose of prisha's life or what exactly she was trying to do. But as the story moved I came on track and soon got an explicit idea.
Storyline is good along with a nice touch vocabulary and I would say plot is intriguing because it will force you to contemplate.
Prisha Bose started working in a cafe in Mumbai after shifting from Kolkata against her parents will. She meets Arav briefly at the cafe and later at a pub and sparks fly immediately. Prisha feels their connect is instant and deep unlike anyone else she met so far, and Arav also reciprocates. However, there is a certain mystery behind Prisha’s behavior as she is driven by a wish list of her friend Ayesha, trying to tick off items from this wish list, a life Prisha long dreamt of where she had the complete control on her life. Read the book to know what secrets Prisha is trying to hide and the reason why she is bent on fulfilling Ayesha’s wishes as her own.
At the beginning, Prisha comes across as mysterious and spontaneous as she seems to be living life on the edge. As the story progresses, the reader gets a view of her past and the reason behind her decisions. At less than 150 pages, this is a short and quick read, however I felt once the mystery behind Prisha is revealed, the story drags a bit in the middle parts. The story is an emotional one and tugs at the readers heart with its touching and realistic narrative.
While there are few supporting characters, the focus for the most part is on Arav and especially Prisha who is just not the protagonist but the soul of the story. Prisha connects instantly with the reader, holding their attention all through. Prisha is as strong as she is vulnerable which makes her for endearing for an average reader. Pick this one for a simple, heart touching story of a young girl.
It's an emotional rollercoaster. The story is about a girl named Prisha belonging from the city of joy i.e. Kolkata. She moved in Mumbai all by herself in order to lead her life the way she wants and to fulfill the wish list once made by her best friend, Ayesha. Ayesha was unable to live life freely as she had a very less time with her, but Prisha promised her to complete the dying wish of her best friend.
But all her plans changed as soon as she met Arav at her work place. She fall head over heels for him. And Arav too found her attractive. Their growing chemistry and also the ups and downs in their relationship were portrayed here very well. Arav also distanced himself from her because of his past, but he changed a lot after meeting her.
A sudden revelation from her totally twisted the storyline. But I really liked the narration, it was first paced. But I think the story could have been more improved, it's nothing extraordinary, but a beautiful tale of love, hope, life, struggles, pain. The story will inspire you in someway and also will teach you the value of time and life. The story doesn't ended in happily ever after like any romance book. But yeah I will recommend it to beginners.
I fell in love with the beautiful cover of the book and immediately picked it up. I will briefly summarise the blurb. Prisha shifts Mumbai from Kolkata to finish wish list of Ayesha. She promised her best friend that she will live the best of her life or as the Ayesha would have lived enjoying each and every moment. Then on a mode, she met Arav and definitely her life changed. Read the book to know how and will she able to complete Ayesha’s wish list? Read the book to know. I liked the concept of the book. It’s different. I was reading thinking that it’s a normal story then suddenly it took turn that shocked me. That was the turning point definitely for me because I didn’t see that coming. The language of the book is lucid and author has narrated story beautifully. I liked how friendship of both friends has been portrayed. Overall good one. Recommended from my side.

Prisha, a young girl who wanted to enjoy her freedom, had shifted to Mumbai to fulfill the last dying wishlist of her friend Ayesha, who unfortunately couldn't complete it. Prisha had promised Ayesha that she would live the life Ayesha always dreamt of, fulfilling her wishes and living each day to the fullest. Prisha worked at a café and then one day she met Arav, who completely changed her life and its ways. Her lone life was like an empty canvas which were painted with the vibrant colours of Arav. But then, one day, reality decided to struck Prisha and shatter her happy life into a million pieces. What happened? Why was Prisha trying to fulfill Ayesha's wishlist? What was the dark secret of Prisha's life and how will it affect her newly found love life? Read this amazing book to know all the answers. I would start by praising the pretty cover which actually compelled me to pick up the book. What appealed to me the most are the innumerous imageries and metaphors, which along with the vivid descriptions helped to create a clear picture of the story as it unfolds. The language is lucid but, I felt that the characterisation of Prisha and Arav could have been better. There are a few grammatical errors in the book. The first half of the story was a little confusing and slow paced but as the second half began, the story gathered a good pace and the plot became more interesting. By the last chapter, it was difficult for me to control my tears. Would definitely suggest this book to everyone irrespective of the genre you love because this book is about a fight for a new beginning and a fight to make everyday matter.
After years of struggle , Prisha Bose turns a new leaf and gets herself in Mumbai against her parent’s wish. Prisha rents a room along with Amrita and she joins as a Barista at a café. Arav is a regular customer at the café. Prisha instantly feels something for him at her first sight. She loses her grip and knocks the Coffee Beans jar as he orders. After a moment of humiliation, she gathers herself once again to look at him. A small conversation built between them and she feels connected to him. Prisha goes back home and sketches Arav’s face with whatever she could remember.
Prisha Bose has come with a purpose leaving her dark secret behind, she has a bucket list written by her friend who is not alive. Ayesha didn’t have the time to finish hers and Prisha feels it is her duty to fulfil all of Ayesha’s wishes in that list. She is making all her moments count before it could slip away.
Things get a little out of hand , when the bitter truth is revealed. The truth serves as the answer for her behaviour.
One thing led to another, Prisha and Arav fall in love. Prisha reminds herself that he isn’t the reason why she has come here. Will destiny prove her wrong ?
Quote from the book -
“Even the dust shines when it gets revealed in the sunlight... why cant you ?” - Saikat , What you wish for.
Prisha and Arav are the main characters of this story. The entire story revolves around Prisha. There are few other supporting characters who play important roles in the story. I found the story a little slow at the beginning but the pace of the story gets faster once it reaches the main plot of the story. The climax of the story is heart touching. I absolutely loved the point of view of every character in this story. Prisha’s thoughts were realistic.
There is always a dilemma between what others want from us and what we actually want in life. Every time we choose to do something we gain as well lose few things in life. Life is a beautiful path of happiness and sadness. Life can get cruel and unfair at times but accepting the fact and counting all the memories is what that really matters.
The entire story is divided into 24 chapters. The title plays significant role in the book. What you wish for has a perfect balance of romance and drama and sorrow. It is a quick read , the book has less than 150 pages. I loved the cover, I could keep looking at it all day long :”)
I really enjoyed reading this book ! What you wish for is an emotional rollercoaster. The authors language is really good. It is simple and easy to understand. For a debut book , I would say the author, Saikat , has done a great job. I couldn’t put the book down , definitely a page turner.
This is my honest review , if you want to read short bittersweet novel , then do pick this one.
About the author -
Hailing from the City of Joy , Saikat is a budding author who aspires to be recognised as one of the popular literary faces of the country. Currently pursuing a business degree, Saikat is more than interested in artistically fields. Saikat lives with his parents who enthusiastically have brought out the writer in him.
‘What you wish for’ is his first book and he desires to bring out more from his passion for writing and spend his life reading and giving life to more stories.
The story revolves around the life of Prisha Bose, who works at a coffee house in Mumbai. After the death of her best-friend Ayesha, Prisha leaves behind her family and her hometown Kolkata and moves to Mumbai with the purpose of living freely and checking off Ayesha’s wish list. At the coffee house, Prisha comes across Arav, who leaves her totally mesmerized. Although the two don’t talk much then, destiny brings them together again at a party, where they instantly connect. Ayesha and Arav start dating, and everything seems to be moving smoothly, until one day, Prisha loses consciousness and is rushed to the hospital. Even though Prisha slides it off casually, Arav senses something suspicious. Following the unexpected visit by Prisha’s parents, Prisha and Arav’s relationship strains even more. What is it that Prisha is hiding from Arav? How did Ayesha die? Why is Prisha so serious about Ayesha’s wish list? Will the misunderstandings between Prisha and Arav clear out? Or will it mark the end of their relationship? Read to find out.
Language and writing style: The story seemed beautiful to me. I loved Prisha and Arav’s love story. The impact the two of them have on each other was pleasing to read. The story has been well narrated and the language is lucid. The author has done a great job of building up the bond between Prisha and Arav. I was also happy that the author worked upon making the book more realistic, rather than giving it a dystopian touch where every action has a happy result. But I wasn’t entirely impressed with this book. Although the plotline had a lot of potential to offer, I feel the author got distracted by the love story. The existence of Ayesha’s wish list has been mentioned, but the complete wish list was never presented. We don’t find out much about their friendship and bond either. Yes, the two of them spent meaningful time together. Yes, Ayesha gave a sense of purpose to Prisha’s life. But is that seriously enough to form such a strong bond that Prisha decides to leave her family behind and fulfill Ayesha’s wish list? It doesn’t make sense to me. Also, after spending a few days with Prisha, Arav suddenly disappears for months, and it was Prisha who had to go find him. Yes, a reason was provided for his disappearance – his doubt about the sustenance of the relationship. But is that reason strong enough to disappear completely, and avoid Prisha? I don’t think so. The author also mentions Arav’s drunk father, but it is never mentioned again. And so, the topic seems vague to me. There also were a few spelling mistakes in the book. But overall, the story is well-paced and the characters have been developed well.
Title and book cover: If you know me enough, you would know how much I love books that have pretty covers. The book cover is the major reason as to why I love this book. The beautiful floral pattern is extremely elegant. The title too is apt, since the story focuses on fulfilling the final wishes of Ayesha.
Recommend? The book can act as a good casual read.
Book - What You Wish For Writer - Saikat Genre - Fiction Rating - ⭐⭐⭐💫
I don't prefer reading love stories. I always thought it would be a waste of time reading them. Nor am I claiming to be like like an hard boiled egg who hates this genre. But I must say of all the few titles that I have picked none have given me a bad experience... experience that would firm my hatred towards romantic books.
'What You Wish For' by Saikat is one such book from the world of love stories that I will recommend to all those who are looking for short and impactful read. This is a 136 paged book written from Prisha's (protagonist) point of view. Use of different fonts was a good way of surfacing thoughts and forming 2 to 3 layers. I really liked author's way of writing. He has a brilliant command over adverbs. I underlined several lines and reiterated them in my speech to improve my linguistic skills.
Book starts with Prisha living in Mumbai away from her parents. She is now living the life she wished for with utmost freedom. Prisha is a responsible girl who is beautifully managing herself in the city of dreams. She's a barista and one fine afternoon meets Arav. They gradually fall in love and Arav discovers a devastating secret Prisha beholds. The way Prisha developed her personality was justified as she had already gone through so much back in her past (watch her best friend Ayesha die) and now all she did was accept the reality and hope for things to end. She focused more on people that mattered for her and at that phase she needed to think about her own self. It was Arav who held her throughout when even Prisha's parents failed to build a hope in her. It was Arav because of whom she hoped for things to get better.
As the book ended I found myself in a state where I am grateful for everything that has ever happened to me. This book conveys a meaningful message for all of us. One must live life with love, with hope, with utmost fullness. I liked the book and accepted most of the things in it.
Book had countable grammatical mistakes which could be corrected had it been through well rehearsed editing process. I particularly didn't find the 2nd quarter of the book much appealing and expected it to end fast. It picked up good pace from 3rd quarter. There is always a room for betterment and I felt the writer could have delivered more. Do give this book a read. (Special appeal to all teens. Haha!) Book is an emotional roller coaster ride. The way it started was a little confusing, it did take some time to develop the plot. Plot is simple, predictable, but the way it's crafted and narrated kept me hooked till the end. Lucid language, with rich vocabulary and proper narration makes it a page turner.' Prisha's character is described very well, as the story progresses it's developed well. Her emotional turmoil was heart wrenching. Loved the portrayal of Arav's character too. It's a short, quick read which can be completed in one sitting. I loved the concept of 'Wish-list ' in a book which was unique one. Prisha's character leaves a positive impact on one's life. 'What you wish for' - title goes well with the book. I loved the cover. 📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚 . WHAT YOU WISH FOR by Saikat . 📚 MY REVIEW:- . The readers gonna immediately fall in love with the characters. All credits goes to the author for getting these amazing characters. . The language of the book is easy and lucid. Everyone can understand the story. Beginners must try this. The content of the book is very Emotional. There are a lot of feelings engulfed inside it. However there were some parts which were shaly and I can't understand the authors meaning over there. Rest, The book is very realistic, specially the ending is very realistic. The book is interesting. Its full of twists and turns. Overall, I loved the book. . 📚 MY RATINGS:- 🌟🌟🌟🌠
What you wish for by Saikat is a light coming of age romance novel realising about loss, love and friendship. . . Prisha Bose shifts to Mumbai from Kolkata against her parents wishes to fulfil her (late) friend Ayesha's wishes. Soon, she meets Arav, first at the cafe Prisha is working and later in the pub and feels something striking in her heart for him. Arav reciprocates in same manner. But a hurdle roots out in their story as Prisha’s suspicious behaviour about fulfilling her dead friend's wishlist creates an aura of mystery, as to why she is adamant about it. Grab the book and find out about it. . . The initial chapters are quite ambiguous and one has to read a major chunk of the story to find out more. Characters takes time to appear as whole. But soon the mist from the story wipes off and things starts to take shape. It is a short read, delivers only what is being needed, not more or less. However, apart from Prisha’s mysterious behaviour and her love story with Arav, some more element is required. . . Writing is rich with vocabulary and great sentence framing. Later part of the story is intriguing. It's a short read spanning in less than 150 pages. I finished it in one sitting. Overall, I give this book a 3 🌟 /5 🌟
🦢Review 🦢 Book: What you wish for Author: @saikatwrites Pages: 136 Genre: fiction Publisher: @redgrabbooks Blurb: Prisha finds herself in Mumbai with almost nothing but her best friend's dying wish to finish everything in the wish list that Ayesha, unfortunately, didn't have enough time to complete. prisha had promised her best friend that she would live the life Ayesha had always thought of until Arav walks into cafe one fresh afternoon and her carefully knitted plans scattered in the winds.
If after reading the blurb you are thinking that this story is about friends then I must tell you it's not, it is a love story of prisha and Arav. The beginning of the book is nice and crisp but Soon it lost its charm as the author has described a scene too much which can be predicted easily, you will know what will happen next so it became difficult for me to finish the book in one go. At a certain point, I felt like it's been stretched a lot Also, I longed to know more about Ayesha. There is something about love stories, they work accordingly, this one was not for me.
The cover is no doubt beautiful Title is apt The language used is easy, found grammatical error not so much that you can't ignore Characterization is perfect.
No: of pages: 136 🌠 Hola bookworms! How about a story that deals with the usual ramblings of a typical love story?🖋️ 🌠 The author Saikat is a budding writer and this is his first book. He aspires to be a leading author someday! 🌠 The story is at first narrated by Prisha, the protagonist, who paints and works at a cafe. She has a wishlist of her dead friend Ayesha and is racing against time to tick it off! Meanwhile, she accidentally meets Arav, who walks into her cafe and like other love stories, they immediately fall in love with each other head over heels. But, Prisha seems to be hiding something from Arav, who eventually finds out and leaves her! Just as Prisha thinks she has found true love, she has lost it. Will Prisha win back Arav? How long will Prisha survive to tell the truth about her? Will Arav accept the reality? You gotta read the story to unravel the answers. 🌠 " Where there is love, there is magic!" The author has written a simple story with an enduring, yet predictable climax that leaves you in tears. I liked Prisha's characterisation, but wished to know more about Ayesha. The cover of the book is too pretty, with an apt title and simple language has been used. I would recommend this book to beginners.
#plot- This book is a story about Prisha Bose who lands in Mumbai to tick off things on a wishlist. A wishlist which is not originally hers but Ayesha's. Ayesha was suffering from cancer and hence didn't had enough time to complete it. Prisha promises Ayesha that she would live the life Ayesha had always thought of. Few days in Mumbai and she is already in love with a guy name Arav. Soon Arav discovers a secret that Prisha had been hiding from him. And their relationship goes for a toss. Will Prisha fullfill her friend Ayesha's promise??
#myreview - 'What you wish for' is author's first book and for a debut novel i must say the author has done an excellent job.
Though this book falls in Romance category it was so much more than romance. The book has a strong message to convery that don't take life for granted and enjoy everyday as if its your last day and not waste a single breath.
The book was engaging and kept me hooked. The author has a way with the words. Very well written except that there were a few grammatical errors. It will take you into the very heart of what the characters were experiencing. Its a quick read and can be completed in few hours.
Book review 100: . . What you wish for by Saikat . . About the book: Completing her friend's wish list is what Prisha Bose is set out to do. Living the good life and the days like they were her last. Amidst all this walks in Arav, who is everything she has ever dreamt of. Is the timing right or all wrong? Does the death wish list get priority anymore or are her carefully laid out plans shattered?? And why so? . . Review : The title is well connected to the story. The language is simple and easy to understand . The fonts are of a good size ,spacing of lines is good but the pace of the book is a little shaky. The characters and protagonists are well developed but be warned it is an emotional content. . . Opinion and Ratings : This book is for those folks who can empathize with emotional content. There is a strong sense of realism. However, at parts I felt that the story slowed down in pace . One does not know why the lead characters suddenly seem to avoid each other or don't meet as often. And then suddenly they are overflowing with all kinds of love.. That part didn't sit well for me. However , I thought the ending was realistic and apt. . . Rating :⭐⭐⭐ good
This book is about a love story, although I don't read love stories much, I quite enjoyed this one. The narration is spectacular. I must appreciate the author for the narration and the writing quality. The writing style is good with a good storyline and correct choice of words and phrases. A sweet at the same time sad story. A balance is maintained throughout the story. Pace is good but the first couple of chapters are deliberately done. I would like it more if the the story starts from a point of development and then proceed though the book. The characters could be more developed, they just appeared from out of the blue. Some mistakes are there but they a negligible. Overall a good short book to read with intriguing cover. . MY EXPERIENCE: Honestly say I didn't get the starting because everything stars abruptly but then I get hang of it as I read more and quite enjoyed. It's the narration and writing quality that forced me to read. The final moments were sad and heart wrenching and I loved it.
what you wish for is a contemporary romantic book following the journey of prisha bose—a girl away from home, staying alone in an unknown place, surrounded by unknown people, fulfilling the wishlist of her long dead friend. her life smoothly follows the path she had imagined it to be : living away from family, earning on her own, and enjoying everyday of her life like it was the last. she was busy ticking the wishes off her list until she met arav—the handsome young man—who disrupted Prisha's only goal, toppling her world.
my take : i didn't hate this book, but i didn't love it either. firstly, i would say, the blurb was somehow misleading : it promised of a very different premise and provided something else all together. secondly, the story was predictable as it lacked originality; bits and pieces of several stories (that we've already come across) were adopted and put together to make one standalone. thirdly, i absolutely loathe the fact when editors ignore grammatical errors like nobody's business : this book required SEVERE proofreading. finally, despite presuming the obvious conclusion, my heart somehow broke.
this would've been a hit for me had it been released 10 years back. but nevertheless, i have a firm belief that people out there will still enjoy it and love it, as it's a very sweet and simple love story with a hint of tragedy (lest they aren't picky like i am). and keeping aside the flaws, i must also admit that the author being young and a debutant has done a great job. he keeps the potentiality to flourish better. i would certainly read more of his works in future. :)
“WHAT YOU WISH FOR” is a novel under the popular romantic fiction. The story tells about Prisha, who tries to find meaning in the life through her friend Ayesha’s wish list. She lives an unrestrained life, So one day a magic meeting with Aarav in the café changes her life. How did Aarav enter into the unrestrained life of Prisha? What made her seek an independent life, unfettered from her parents? The plot narrates you a romantic story of Aarav and Prisha with an unexpected ending. The character sketch of Prisha is very intense and structured well, on the contrary I find Aarav’s character is little bit obscure. The few lines uttered by Prisha in the novel are written beautifully, for instance: *Art cannot be termed as useful. It is beautiful, and that’s all it is supposed to be. *Words would fail to explain what alchemy transpired between us. Wholly, the novel would enchant all romantic genre lovers despite of few conventional chapters.
What You Wish For by Saikat is a story about Prisha who started working in a cafe in Mumbai after shifting from Kolkata against her parents will. Prisha meets Arav at a pub and feels an instant attraction towards him. A story that seems to be about passion and first love soon unravels itself to be a mystery as the ghosts of Prisha's past chase her.
The book started off on a weird note where the characters and their actions don't make much sense because of all the rush and spontaneity. It takes a while for the story and characters to make sense but it didn't last long and the pacing becomes inconsistent again. Considering the plotline, the book even though short seems stretched at points. Perhaps it was the inability of the book to strike a fancy. The writing style is lucid and narrative is smooth enough. It didn't leave any mark on me but I did enjoy it at times.
How far can a young girl go to fulfill the last wish of a dead friend or perhaps to lighten the weight of guilt that she carries. 'What You Wish For' is a super fast paced story of Prisha and the continuous struggle between her plans and fate. Will she succeed in fulfilling her desires or fate will take away the game, its for the readers to discover. Sometimes a coincidental presence of a certain someone makes our lives take such uncertain turns that change everything. Similar thing happens with Prisha as well. This young girl at times is awfully relatable. The scope of her movement is limited due to plot requirement yet she grabs all the attention well. Going through the blurb before starting the book helps avoiding a lot of confusion and makes it easily understandable. Appreciable work by Saikat, a budding Author of India. TBH its hard to believe thats this is his debut novel. Satisfactory pick overall.
What you wish for is a short book about Prisha Bose who shifted from Kolkata to Delhi to take off all goals from a wish list her friend Ayesha made, who is now dead. She starts working at a cafe where Arav is just a regular customer. Prisha instantly feels something for him at the first sight. things get complicated when A bitter truth is revealed, one that could tear them apart.
I had an instant liking for the beautiful cover . The story is decently paced and I can't say the ending disappointed me. I liked the chemistry between Prisha and Arav. A quick read of 150 something pages, what you wish for can keep you hooked and it can be completed easily in a setting.
I felt like the book had a couple of missed opportunities; what could have been a very moving and strong plot was diluted because it focussed only on Prisha and Arav. Ayesha and Prisha's friendship is evidently very deep but not much is written about it, which I would have liked to read about. I also detested the way Prisha behaved at times. The book also had a couple of grammatical errors which irked me immensely. I feel like a more layered plot would have grabbed it a few more stars. Overall, I'd say it was a good read for a lazy day.
What You Wish For is a coming-of-age kind of story. Plash a light with sentimental notes throughout while deciphering the nuances of love, loss and life. Using no intractable ways served right - A serious read but not forcing things or attempt to kempt a great twist at the end.
This Story is about Prisha and Arav. Prisha is about to die due to tumour and got a wish-list to tick off before the destiny swings its rope. Yet she wants to live peacefully, with flicks of youth affairs. Though this story sets out in the dark mood, it was enigmatic. The narration is lucid and made sure to bring out the tenor, hauntingly beautiful. Prisha’s character undertones the audacity of how and what the reality would envisage. It was hard for me to figure out the shape of this story at the start. Then the prose style of the author seeps perfectly, connecting the emotional bondage of readers.
What you wish for is significant. BREATHABLE - bringing out the personal space of the heart and minds of people. No doubt that this is an intriguing read but the lack of depth in details cannot be overlooked. I think it’d have fixed sounding the monotonous pattern, albeit, the emotional sequences in an array. Overall, this is a heartfelt read.

🤵🏻 The blurb doesn't reveal the story. It's not a spoiler. After reading a chapter I didn't literally understand what's happening. But eventually the story synced in. 👨🏽⚕️ You may find it usual like every other love story. But the characters are different and the lady protagonist leads the entire story. ❣️The musings are quite lengthy which makes the reading a bit weary. 💗It is a one time read and do read after a long break from romantic stories.
What you Wish for by Saikat 🌸 136 pages 🌸 Romance 🌸 ₹125 🌸Redgrab books BLURB- Prisha has a best friend, Ayesha who died and left behind a wishlist. Now Prisha wants to tick it off, so she run away from her home town, Kolkata and comes to Mumbai where she has a plan for everything she has to accomplish until she meets Arav. Falling in love isn't on the list, so how will she work with this. Read to find why is Prisha hell bent on fulfilling the list and how she falls in love with our hero, Arav. OPINION- First thing that is bound to catch any eye is the Gorgeous floral cover, which was what happened to me. The title also leaves no stone unturned. It's mysterious and enough to arouse a healthy dose of curiousity. The plot is brilliant. A mysterious girl in town, a heady romance and reasons to stay away but they still fall in love. A dying best friend and a wish list to tick off. Why a star less? Because even though I loved the plot, the story seemed to have alot of unrealised potential. It could take few more pages and let things take some time to maintain a slower pace. I love the relationship between the leads but it does feel fast although few months pass in the story, it looks like few days in the Span of few pages, that gap could have been better described. Other than that I have no other complaints from the story. The story just feels rushed at places. There was alot of background stories that needed to be told which was missing. I love the characters, be it the perfect City boy Arav or mysterious barista Prisha. Even Prisha's parents and friends are supportive and encouraging. The language is simple and colloquial. With fast pace and smooth twists in the story, it was an short, easy read. The climax was unexpected, I absolutely wasn't ready for the ending. I won't be a monster and spoil the surprise but I'd like to state, the ending was bitter sweet for me. And it made sense for the story to end like that. It didn't make me cry though which was kind of expected of the book.

An emotionally-packed tale of Prisha, ‘What You Wish For’ is written by Saikat. First of all, the efforts of the author to represent this story are commendable. He has done a great job, in collecting all the thoughts together and made it into a book.
To be honest, I was moved towards this book for its cover and title. They intrigued me enough to pick this one and yes, I am happy with my decision. This book turned out to be a very motivating and emotional read. The title of the book is tempting and is somewhat appropriate for the story.
I really like the story and the plot is somewhat presented well. The author has not provided too many details, rather he has focused on the mainstream events, thereby making it a fast-paced novel. Since the length of the chapters is less, it became easy to finish this book in a day.
I really like the technique of presenting the character sketch. This aspect could have been explored more, so as to connect the readers more with the protagonists. Saikat has used abundant metaphors to express his thoughts clearly.
