They ruined my reputation. Then they shattered my heart.
Jacob, Lucas, and Troy - the kings of Montlake Prep. Arrogant, privileged, and dangerously good looking.
Together, they conspired and broke my heart. But now I'm getting my revenge.
I'll play whatever games I need to play. I'll do whatever it takes. I'll turn their secrets against them.
I won't fall for their lies. I won't be seduced by their kisses. And I definitely won't let their gorgeous bodies distract me.
Because no matter what... I'll have my vengeance, even if it means breaking my own heart.
Warning: Not for the faint of heart. This slow-burn reverse harem novel of three arrogant bad boys and the girl who stood her ground contains dark themes, high school drama, teenage angst, swoon-worthy sex, and and some potential triggers.
It's a weird experience. Reading a book where in a way a lot of things irritate you and then you realise that they irritate you because you've started to truly care about the characters in this story and want good and nice and happy things to happen to them. And guess what? It's a book. A bully Romance. Nice and good and happy things are not happening to these characters.
I have a really strange love/hate relationship with teenage drama, tricks and mean girl behaviour. Most of the time I really don't understand how people can be so incredibly mean or why they are so focussed on bringing others down. I've never found it satisfying to hurt someone else, it never made me feel better, or made me more popular or helped me in any way. And yet, reading a story where you know everyone will turn on everyone has something addictive too. It's like watching those funniest home videos where you actually don't want to enjoy people getting hurt and yet in a way you do.
And I also have the same love/hate relationship with Natalie. I've started to care about her. I care about what happens to her, I care about her happiness. And yet, there are so many moments where I think "How the hell can you do that? Which part of your brain thought that was a good idea?". Yes, others are mean towards her and she doesn't deserve what happens to her, but then she also does things I know will make it worse.
I guess this is like one of those true guilty pleasures. It's not the best book I've ever read and there are moments I'm really irritated and annoyed and it's exactly then that I realise that I'm only irritated and annoyed because I'm so into the story, connecting with Natalie, wanting to know how, at the very end, she will find her way out of this mess.
So, like some masogist, I'm really looking forward to the next book!
The knives are out as well as the backstabbers at Montlake Academy and theyre all aimed at Natalie (FMC) in book 2 in this series. Troy is truly despicable and so obnoxious he just needs a good slap. I loved it when Natalie gave him one it made my day! Lucas and Anthony disappointed me though but i wont say how. The only redeemable guy was Jacob, He showed his true colours in this book and i loved that about him. That ending though?................ just knockout! I cant wait for the next book
An amazing book with amazing characters!! I couldn't put it down and it's just soo good!! I truly recomend this book to everyone it's an amazing story ❤❤! Can't wait to see what's next ❤
Wow like Beth. I want to slap her stupid self she doesn’t see that Natalie is a FRIEND. Whereas Arielle is a horrible person. I can’t wait to see all there fall out when Natalie is back and she finally sticks it to them that is what I am waiting on. Plus with Anthony, Jacob, and Lucas by her side I think that’ll help her too. I just hope they don’t switch up or do something that can ruin her reputation again.
Somebody also needs to do something about that freaking principal. Because he set and ignore everything that happened to Natalie that was false and set and believe whatever Arielle has said. Just because her family put money into the school. I wanted to punch him in the throat along with Arielle and Beth.
I was glad that Anthony didn’t want Beth because she a horrible jealous person along with Arielle she deserved to be in their clique. I’m going to laugh too when something happened between her and her FAKE friends. Especially when the truth comes out about those pictures and what they have been posting online. Beth dumb as heck too not realizing she is used. I tell jealousy makes you do stupid things and she’s didn’t stupid things.
I can only say that I hope the guys accept Anthony because she chooses all three of them Anthony, Jacob, and Lucas. I don’t want her to choose Troy. He is so horrible and is mom is no better. She is just horrible I wish that Natalie can tell her uncle what she said to her I wouldn’t care if he knew I would’ve just told him to keep hush about it until it’s time to use that information to get back her old a**. Plus if Anthony dumb self would’ve deleted those pictures like Natalie said she wouldn’t have been in that mess. Not only that her dumb self wouldn’t have put her face in the pictures no one would’ve known. They would’ve known by knowing the color of her BED sheets. And the only person knew that color was Beth dusty self.
Natalie is learning I hope to not be sooo stupid when it comes to these propels at this school. I can’t even believe that these people believe she could be a hoe. When the other girls Arielle, Chloe, or whatever her name is all I know is they are Arielle wack friends and I can’t even remember their names. Are being hot in the a**... Arielle sitting giving HEAD. But Natalie the w**** that’s a virgin smh. Just because of three guys like her smh.
She lost her V-Card with Jacob. Towards the end of the book. But they don’t know that. Not sure how horrible Troy knows this. I am like Gosh I hope she doesn’t date him. But I do have a feeling she will. Because I can tell her likes her but have a weird way of showing her.
Plus this the first reverse harem book I have read that the friends aren’t friends but tolerate each other and hate the other.
In some ways this story could have been 5 stars & in some ways it should have been 3 stars. I very rarely make notes throughout a book but so many things confused me throughout this one. Natalie is an idiot, Lucas is just a total inconsistent Ass, Anthony I just don't even know what to say, Jacob is growing in me and Troy needs someone to beat the Hell out of him! Beth, well she isn't any type of friend I would ever want! I digress, it's a good story and I'm moving on to book 3 because I want to know what happens but....if it wasn't for my curiosity I would have given 3 stars due to inconsistencies throughout the book and lack of follow through within the storyline. Not to mention the fact that the female MC is just an unlikable character in my opinion.
I really enjoy reading this series so far. There is a lot going on in montlake prep and things seem to get both worse and better for the female main character. People who she believed to be friends turn out untrustworthy and the main characters definitely struggles with choosing the right path for her. It's hard to figure out who'se really in her corner, but we see allegiances shift that make us curious about how this will proceed. Great read!
Still Team Jacob but I’m falling fast for Lucas. I like the chemistry between Natalie, Jacob and Lucas but I’m not big on Anthony. I’m wondering if he’ll continue to have a big role, it seems the story is leading that way. I’m confused about Troy. Since he was listed in the description I’m feeling his role is going to change. Arielle is a perfectly written mean girl.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Didn’t get better..Natalie got more annoying (and so damn boy crazy!) and while Jacob was better in this book, the others not so much. I can’t believe Troy is supposed to be in her harem after what I’ve read about him (not a spoiler- his name IS on the synopsis). Lots of dumb dumb stuff in this book.
So I think I am done with the series. This book did not have a real struggle anywhere in it.
The writing was gone but there are more books than reading one where the FMC is trying to grow a backbone. This is the second book and she not yet. She does have friends but does that count??
This book isn’t traditional RH, but cheating. Main character has very little personality and creates 98% of her own problems. The same page has her telling one guy they’re just friends because she doesn’t feel that way but also getting physical with him. Was decently written and engaging, just needed character work.
Nope. It didn’t get better after book one. Still all over the place. The MC personality is still all over the place. The character growth sucks. The insta love on and off is crap. A guy roofies her and is going to rape her and is going to end up as one of her guys. Yeah no. That is not ok at all.
Book two, much better than book one! Natalie is still victimized but isn't quite as meek. I love that she told the guys she wants all three of them. Beth is a disappointment, ugh she needs a reality check real quick. As for queen mean girl? I pray Natalie kicks her butt.
The main character pisses me off with the choices she makes. It’s infuriating. Also, Beth..... really? Come on now. Unsure if I’ll finish the rest of the series.
This book is like watching an accident happen...you just can not look away. The flow issues from book 1 are still there, but not nearly as bad, so it was an easier read.
There is not a lot of character depth, but I guess I am in a shallow mood to want to continue the series...hehe
I don’t know what is wrong with the main character, but I can’t seem to connect with her. I love Jacob. I love Lucas. But I am not convinced they can pull the series through.
I just found this series the other night and finished the first book two day's ago and was happy to see that the second book was coming out in a few day's after I finished the first. I downloaded this book as soon as I woke up this morning.
Oh Natalie...... I feel like Natalie kind of slide backwards in this book. Although she tried to act tougher in this book, I feel like she was a bit stagnate in this book. Instead of really standing up to her bullies, she just would run off and hide.
I want to get Anthony out of the way.... I will say in my first review I made the mistake of calling Anthony, Andrew... I did fix that mistake in my review.... But anyway's lets get on with Anthony, I DO NOT LIKE HIM.... He needs to go AWAY.... He's like a Puppy Dog that just won't GO AWAY.... I feel like he's forcing himself on Natalie and trying to make a relationship there when there is none and unfortunately it seems to be working.... And I JUST WANT HIM TO GOOOOOO AWAY....
Oh Lucas.... I liked him in the first book, but at the same time I had my doubts about him.... In this book I think he really showed his true colors. And I'm not so sure about him anymore.
Ahhhh Jacob.... I just love Jacob, there's no black and white area with him. You know what your getting with him. And I truly believe that he has real feelings for Natalie and I just love the two of them together.
Than the dou(hecanoe Troy.... I have to say I don't really think he made up for what he did in the first book. But I have a feeling that we're going to get A Lot more of him in the next book.
I'm giving this book 3 Stars out of 5 and seriously can't wait for the next book!!!!
Wow A lot happens here that was hard to keep track of. If you have read New Girl, then you know that the pace is fast and you better be paying attention because a lot happens fast. There is bouncing from one character to the next. We have multiple points of view, which helps us to see what the characters think and feel. This is listed as a RH, but still we don't know all the players. I know that we have Jacob and Lucas, but from there it is still up in the air. I have my suspensions though.
Natalie has a lot on her plate. So if you have read book one, then you know the cliffhanger. She spends a lot of the beginning of book two trying to figure out who that was. When she finds out who, it floored me like it did her. I was not expecting that one. Natalie is a character that I do enjoy reading about but also have a few issues with her. She kinda seems to go from hot to cold sometimes. But I love how she is not afraid to go after what she wants, and yeah she will smack a b@@ch.
The guys, I go from hating to liking them. I haven't just fallen in love with a particular one yet. They have their own issues and agendas. I just cant fall for them yet.
The pace of the story is fast, a lot happens quickly and I found myself having to go back and read a few times. The angst is high here, a lot is revealed and questions get answered. There is another cliff hanger and yeah that is going to be a big one. I really cant wait to see how this one plays out.
Books 1-3 read in one long night...yes this kept me up until a ridiculous time and now I'm gutted book 4 isn't out yet.
These RH books are my crack at the moment, easy to read, drama-filled and sometimes beyond the realms. This one is like a soap opera on speed. Entitled rich brats making those that don't fit in lives' hell.
Arielle, the queen bitch, needs to be brought down a peg or a million and I am seriously hoping that Nora Cobb delivers just desserts to this utter waste of oxygen. I hate her with a passion and am just waiting for her to get her comeuppance. I will be shouting from the rooftops when this happens.
Our heroine, Natalie at least has some backbone and I love it when this shows through. She hasn't changed as her circumstances have and keeps her moral compass, even if the guys are making it hard for her at times.
I am invested in Lucas and Jacob and somehow I feel that Troy is going to make himself available in the mix. We have seen a different side to him as this series has progressed and I am intrigued how he will ingratiate himself into this triad at the moment. Although, I still hate him for his first actions with regards to Natalie. I feel, this is all going to come to a head with Arielle's downfall. She has tried to hurt them all in some way or another.
Hands that gave her pleasure in the dark, but who's were they and why why why?
Four boys, one girl and a storm is brewing.
Montlake might be home to the rich and entitled, but watch your back they all have hidden agendas.
Is there truth to anyones words?
This is the second book in the Montlake prep series, and boy it gave me whiplash!
Was it you? oh my gosh if I read that one more time I might just cry *chuckles*.
Alot of this book is Natalie chasing down the four main guys with that question. I would of liked more depth to the book now the series has been established.
Having said that it was a pleasant read, that gave you what you wanted. Bullying.
It's quite a simple read but for me personally it was missing something.
An average 3.5 stars. I've read worse but I've also read alot better.
I love this series.I really want to like the main character, but Natalie keeps making these bad decisions and then playing the whoa is me card.I felt like she needed to have some character growth in this book.I really want to see her stop playing the victim and to start fighting back.I love Jacob and feel he’s done the most growing in such a short time.Anthony just needs to take a hint and leave Natalie alone.Lucas is just to flippant,I don’t feel like he knows what he wants.Oh Troy...I want to hate him but after that bonus epilogue I understand now why he is the way he is.I can’t wait for book three to see what happens with these characters. My only problem was with the typos.
I want to like Natalie, I really do, but her entire story seems like nothing but one bad decision after another. I'm almost rooting for the bad guys at this point because I feel like she brings it on herself. I'm invested in the story enough to want to read the next book, but I really need her to grow up and be worthy. I'm hoping Beth gets what's coming for her and I want to see Natalie overcome everything but there just so much standing in her way. I'm really hoping the next book doesn't disappoint and gives the story the fulfillment it needs.
Outcast takes off right where New Girl (and that fun bonus epilogue) left off! Natalie is under water trying to navigate Montlake. She so badly needs one person on her side... Her defenders might not be who you will expect. The question is will help arrive when there are any pieces of her left to save or will it all be too late?
Book 2 ups the ante on drama, and that’s difficult given where New Girl left off! I can’t wait for book 3 now...
Nora has done an amazing second book in her bully RH! The story picks up where book one left us and we get to witness the trials and troubles Nat has to work through from the people all around her. We get betrayal, love and some steamy moments. And that ending will have you wanting to throw the book, salivating for book 3! Amazing instalment and the story was a beautiful read from start to finish. Intriguing and emotional, perfection.
Usually when there is a bully romance series the first book is the best and then it’s downhill from there but this series omgggg. Nora Cobb’s writing is fantastic and Nat’s character really pulls at your heart strings. The books are just about her and her character is very human and flawed. She is not perfect but she is strong and resilient. I loved her fighting spirit cannot wait to read more of her story.
