Overrated is a nostalgia-filled, fictional, romantic story revolving around thought-provoking, light-hearted conversations. It plays out in a contemporary, digital, Indian setting, with expressive millennials freely chatting and sharing opinions on controversies, relationships, politics, freedom, feminism, poetry, corporate life, habits & more.
Breezy read with a very contemporary, easy going writing style. Entire story flows as a nostalgic conversation. While casual in nature, does capture some thought provoking nuances around modern issues.
Fun read, It was a conversational, fictional, romantic flashback over diverse topics. Sagar's easy writing skill in the Indian setting was very nicely done. Felt like I read it too fast, and now am missing it! Sagar should write more.
Fun and easy read. The book has numerous gems in terms of one liners. Touches a number of relevant issues for today’s generation in a light hearted but engaging way. Great job!
Overrated by Sagar Shah! A very unique light hearted book in the form of conversation between two characters, witty and so relatable to each of our lives. It centers around millenials, friends, relationships, jobs, interests, conflicts, and much more! It feels like watching a visual documentary in the form of reading! Very engaging!Simple yet intriguing! You can fit in characters from your life into it and once you start you would just want to turn pages one after the other!
Also I loved how Sagar has put visual charts and light sketches in between the chapters about life , you would be left thinking about them for quite sometime later and ponder on those (feels like having a wine which gives you a kick after a while) 😁😁
If there is one light hearted fun and quick read you would want to end your 2019 with, I would definitely recommend Overrated!!
'Overrated' is a curiously engaging book, the offbeat writing style is especially refreshing and the warm relatable ambience enveloped me from the very first page. While the protagonists and a set of friends go about their unrestrained chats, be prepared to get into a reflective mode as you almost overhear these intimate conversations which explore diverse perspectives on a wide range of everyday topics. You will feel surrounded by the best of times you have had with your own friends, the banters and witty exchanges are eerily reminiscent yet soothingly nostalgic. The book offers comforting reminders that we, millenials, are a fallible lot just like the other generations, and have our own set of quirks. As I finished reading the book, I was left with a longingness to see my old friends. A brilliant book!
