Here comes another crazy urban thriller from the mind of urban fiction mastermind QUAN MILLZ.
Lacey Franklin is the definition of the 21st century educated black millennial woman: classy, educated, career-driven but lonely. She is a senior copywriter working for a bourgeoning black Chicago advertising agency, but unexpectedly, her career comes to an end. Although blindsided by the devastating news, she quickly meets a new beginning with the prospect of finding new love.
Derron Harrington is the founder and CEO of BeastCORE Studios, an upscale boutique gym located in the heart of Downtown Chicago. He's the walking epitome of everything a black woman wants in a black man: attractive, well-spoken, self-assured, entrepreneurial and seductive. Quintessential qualities every woman truly desires out of a man...that is until they discover the depth and darkness of a man's secret demons.
Lacey meets Derron for the first time at his gym and is instantly wowed by his charisma and presence. But she knows little about the man (and his demons). As Derron attempts to pull her into his world, he also begins to unravel, losing sanity as his other problems come to surface.

This Derreon guy is nasty as hell!!! I hope Lacey stay away from him because he is uggh!! Damn n her friend messing with him n now she fixing to die!! This book is just wooowww
1st read by this author. Fast paced storyline. Derron was just as crazy as he was evil. I really felt sad for Erica and I'm hoping Lacey finds out the truth before it's too late. Looking forward to reading the next part

A definite page turner! Derron is a pathetic womanizer and abuser. Lexi shocked me, I definitely was not expecting the ending. All I have to say is “ part two please”
You're d@mn right I'm confused....wth???? I'm going to read part 2 right now to get this convoluted yet entertaining mess straight. Hopefully the next book will get the stars this one didn't.
It is soooo many women that allow men to beat them, just for the mighty dollar, I'm hoping it's a part 2, because I believe he got the name mixed up in the first and last chapter.
My Boyfriend Beats Me But I Still Love Him by Quan Millz is a interesting read. This is my first time reading from this author. Quan does a good job. He always come with weird title for his books but he’s definitely make his readers laugh, emotional and different face expressions.
Derron is a intelligent and handsome man but he’s definitely manipulative, disrespectful and brutally man. Hopefully, he will get some help for his mental illness. Hopefully, Alexandria will leave him alone and walk away from him. Jenn is a something else. Lacey doesn’t going anywhere with Darron.
I’ll definitely continue to support and read more from this author.
Good read: Sandra A “Painful” 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😢😢😢😢😢😢
I don't know what to say but I'm sure go put some words together right quick cause I am the most blunt, straight forward reviewer, as well as a blunt, straightforward person in real life! All I'm go say is I have read author Quan's books since day 1 and up until now, he has never failed this reader here. Now I'm very disappointed. I wonder if author Quan was in a rush when he made this book. First of all, the story don't even match the title. The title says My Boyfriend Beats Me but I Still Love Him. However, when you read the story, it's only about a bisexual man with a temper. See I thought it would be about a woman in a abusive relationship. Not at all! The man Derron just have controlling abusive ways when stuff don't go his way. I found the book quite boring. Then it didn't help that the epilogue is the prologue at the beginning of the book so bout time I get to the epilogue, I already know what happened 🤦♀ Now I'm not go give up on author Quan Mills cause he's a damn good author, but this time, I must admit he's trippin and for that, I can only give 2 stars 🤷♀✌
When I first came across this book, I immediately disliked it. I would never want to read a book called MY BOYFRIEND BEATS ME BUT I STILL LOVE HIM. To me, this was promoting physical (and all other types) of abuse. I saw that some people liked it, so I decided to try something new... It's 2020.
But I couldn't read it anymore. I only read the prologue and decided that it wasn't for me. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Makes you understand ptsd and battered women better
This was a very good book derron was sick in the head and had a lot of issues within himself so he acted out towards women and men, the ending surprised me so much i almost thought i was confused i was very disappointed in the Lexi character but feel like i should’ve expected it
This story was well written. The characters were developed and unpredictable, which is a good thing. It keeps a reader on their toes. Can we say Derron? I think the story moved well, had relevant content in regards to domestic violence and believable drama. There were a few grammatical errors, but nothing to distracting. I look forward to the next installment.
This book is sad yet a reality. I would’ve never thought that Darron was bisexual. Jenny is out cold she don’t care that Darron is bisexual. I feel sorry for Erika she needs a reality check. Lacey is being used. Lexy I hope Darron didn’t kill her. If he did another sad dose of reality. About to read pt 2.
I wanted to like this book, but the poor spelling and grammar turned me off. The story line was e poor as well. The prologue and epilogue were the same and took up half the book. The fact that most of these characters are educated and socially aware yet nobody uses condoms is pretty hard to believe.
So he was with Lexy too and trying to hump on ole girl, this book took me through a loop at the end. But now am on the edge of my seat ready for the next part. Like what happened to Erica, will Lexy survive Tooo many questions
Derron is really on a power trip. He has some real mental issues. But for him to pursue all these women and men is ridiculous. All these women are completely gone over him. I can hardly wait to see what happens in book 2. Great way to end a story.
I like it but this wasn't my favorite. Darron was a pyscho and Jenn was to. Darron dad and millitary experience turned him into a gay undercover womanizer. It touches on real life situations Domestic Violence Rape by a family member Ptsd Anxiety.
I knew from the jump that Derron was DL. But what I'm tripping on is why the women let him treat them any kind of way like not one of them know their self worth.... Waiting on part 2. I hope he comes across a strong woman.
Okay so Derron is a nut with a lot of issues. These women are crazy to keep messing with his nutty ass, especially Jenn and Erica. I hope one of these women stand up to his ass soon.
Wow Derron is an abuser, a male hoe and gay. I never would've thought Lexy was messing with him knowing her best friend liked him. This actually is a good book and Derron needs help bad. I can't wait to read part 2 to c if he really killed Lexy
Both the women and men are insane in this one Everyone is screwing everyone and not using condoms and then We're on beating the he'll out of an and no one is pressing charges, just getting di@#$% down crazy. Moving to part 2. Very good.
Not gonna lie, this book got me in my feelings. Was ready to commit murder on Derron, the main character. Then some of the chicks...for real though...is that how we do it? Ready for part 2 though...
Onto book 2 because derron is certified crazy! I sure can't wait to see what happens next wow! Quan is a great writer he really keeps me entertained! Wow Deron is certified crazy but what happens next i can't wait to see!
Man this book was hella good! I just can’t understand Derron’s thinking. Wow but you like sleeping with men and women.. Now he wanna kill Levy. Waiting on the next story!
Usually Quan books are really good. This was just ok. I was bored at times. The only reason I'm going to read part two is because he left me very confused at the end.
