Where do I begin talking about this interesting little BL manga trilogy. Let's start with the setting.
CasteHate by Yuzo Natsuno is a Omegaverse, but is quite a different beast from your standard Omegaverse setting. It has its own unique little universe.
You have your standard Alphas and Betas genders. These two evolved out of different animal groups. Alphas from the predactory animals (like loins, snakes, panters, bears, ect), while the Betas evolved from prey animals (like cows, hamsters, pigs, ect). Then there's a mysterious 3th gender that so rare they're seen more as legendary creatures than actually living people. It's all an interesting spin to the standard Omegaverse setting.
And now the warnings come in. This serie is not going to be for everyone. It has quite a lot of gore in it. Blood is pretty much dripping from some of pages. There's some murder and cannibalism. Within the first 10 pages, we see one of our main Alpha character eating other Beta character, and after being done, just drops her blood clothing in a trash can. This also happens the other way around several times.
It can get really nasty so be warned!! That being said their is also a bit of humor in these pages to bring some lightness to the gore scenes going on in this story.
Characters: Most enjoyable of this story where they three main characters, Rurikawa (Alpha - wolf) , Tsukuyomi (Alpha - snake) , and Kyougokuin (Beta - rabbit). Three students at what look to be a pretty high ranking university.
Rurikawa is among the popular students, arrogance, smart and proud of his wolf lineage. Tsukuyomi despite being a Alpha is rather sweet, caring, and a bit of a pushover. Kyougokuin comes from a rich well known Alpha family. He's smart, highly manipulative, has a hatred for Alphas, and can be cheeky at times.
They form a love triangle. With Rurikawa and Tsukuyomi, who are childhood friends, having some unspoken feelings forward each other. With is brought further into the foreground as the story moves along as the bound between Rukikawa and Kyougokuin growth more strong. How seem to be something like the standard fated couples. It's not exactly called that, but seeing as Rurikawa nearly loses all control of himself after laying eyes on Kyougokuin it's has the same kind of idea behind it.
Plot: The plot in the first volume revolves around Rurikawa and Tsukuyomi trying to find out how or what the newly transfer student, Kyougokuin really is after seeing him eat two Alphas students the night before he formally joins their university class the next day. Meanwhile Rurikawa is also struggling with the strange feelings for Kyougokuin brings up in him after their first meeting.
Art: Yuzo Natsuno has a lovely artstyle. I quite I enjoy her work. I own all the manga of her that where released. The sex scenes in this BL are not explicit and in your face. It's more subtle and things are cover up by characters tails, clothing, ect.
Highly recommended If you want a different flavor in your Omegaverses, or enjoy a bit of gore and stranger plots.

castehate is a manga that attempts in delivering both a plot-driven omegaverse story as well as fetish based, gore content - and ultimately fails at doing both.
