Only 1 star for the historical content.

I was very disappointed in this book. Hauntings are supposed to refer to ghosts, but there weren't any spoken about in this book. It became boring after the first few chapters, so I ended up skimming through the rest looking for ghosts. I live in Marion County in Belleview and basically bought this book so I could find places to visit for the hauntings. Now I feel as though my money was wasted on this book. I very very seldom put a book down without finishing it, but this one was one that I just couldn't get to the end of. If you're going to write about hauntings at least have ghosts in the telling of these places. All this was was a tourist guide to Sumter County. Extremely disappointing book! I'm definitely going to see about getting my money back!!!!!

I wanted more! This was a very quick & easy read but only wet my appetite to learn more about the local history. It reads a little like a travel guide. Would recommend if you are looking for brief run down of Sumter County. Knowing about the area, definitely makes it feel more interesting.
