A sleepy Scottish village is about to be woken up … With her boyfriend moving to her hometown of Lannick, Leana Mackenzie is floating on cloud nine. All she needs now is for them to find a home of their own. Alasdair’s lack of interest in house-hunting soon has her worried. For Isla and Logan, moving in together is the logical next step in their relationship. Neither of them expects living under the same roof to be so challenging. If they can’t find a way to make it work how can they possibly have a future together? Single-mother Elspeth is ecstatic about moving out of her parents’ house. When she agrees to a temporary housemate she’s comforted by the friendship that grows. But are her feelings purely platonic, or is romance in the air? As the year draws to a close, Alasdair organises a celebration that will rock the quiet village of Lannick. The New Year’s party brings everyone together for a night to remember. But when midnight strikes, the fireworks bursting over the loch aren’t the only sparks flying … This is the third book in the Loch Lannick series and is best enjoyed after the first two books in the series
Hannah Ellis spent many years working in childcare before deciding she'd like to write books. When she's not busy writing she likes to read, drink tea and eat chocolate. She also enjoys yoga and jogging.
Has quite a ring to it?! I love this family so much I want to be a part of it 😂 maybe my true life lies in Skye. Who knows?! I love how each book we are learning more about our beloved characters while still following new and interesting storylines.
We’re back on the Isle of Skye in the run up to Christmas and New Year. I was pleasantly surprised as I assumed this third book in the series would focus on the youngest sister, Elspeth. Whilst she does come more into the story, it mainly flicks between her older sisters, Isla and Leana, of whose relationships with their partners seem to be having some teething issues.
I really like both couples and was great to see things evolving for them. The thread to do with Alasdair’s music was so good and there are definitely some surprises in store when it comes to this. Thankfully Kyle still makes some appearances as he is such a fabulous character and things seem to get even more fun when he is around.
Fireworks Over the Loch had me wanting to sell up and go house hunting just to be able to wake up and see the stunning views described throughout the novel. The family bond goes from strength to strength with the romance making your heart flutter. I am so happy that there are lots more books to come in this series as it has so much to offer readers. The most wonderful escapism!
I love the characters in this Lochh Lannick series, although Isla did get a bit on my nerves in this book. She kept moaning about Logan's habits when they live together. This book mostly follows sisters Isla and Leana and their relationships. At the end, the third sister Elspeth is focussed on to tee things up for the next book. The setting of the Isle of Skye seems beautiful and I can understand why the sisters want to stay living there. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
I was frustrated throughout the book at times and wanted to knock a few heads together. I even took a break and read a couple of other books before coming back to this and trying again. I'm glad I came back to it. I'll be more patient in future. It really was a great novel.
The Loch Lannick series is a great, easy read book. Great for losing yourself in for few hours. Thoroughly enjoyable, with an easy to follow plot that keeps the pages turning. Looking forward to the next one.
I love that this book was told from the perspectives of multiple characters switching off throughout. We got to learn a more about all three sisters and were left with so many questions about Elspeth. I cannot wait for book 4!
The characters are well written and the book has a lot of humour. However both Leans and Isla's characters are very insecure and needy, I feel they need a bit of a kick up the backside. However a fun and enjoyable book.
Cute. East read. Everyone gets drunk alllll the time but it’s still a cute easy read. I liked Leana’s planning. Hopefully the next book is about Elspeth.
I was expecting an Elspeth book but was still pleasantly surprised with this one! It was fun to learn a bit more about some of the side characters from the first two books along with seeing more of Leana and Isla’s relationships. There wasn’t a whole bunch of excitement or character development but I think it set things up well for some great upcoming stories for the other characters!
Lovely book in a lovely series on the Isle of Skye
#3 in the Loch Lannick series and the best one yet. I loved how the focus shifted from one sister to another weaving all their stories together. Moving on to #4!.
