Midnight Doms #7

Her Vampire Obsession

Rate this book
HER TASTE IS ADDICTIVE AND I WILL NOT SHARE HER. NO ONE GETS HER BUT ME.

Dexter

I've lived a long time. Some might say too long. I honestly don't know what drew me to Lucius' club in Tucson, of all hellish destinations, but dark and self-destructive thoughts have increasingly beckoned to me, as of late.

Then I meet her.

She challenges me from the very start and awakens something I'd thought long dead and cold inside my soul. Even her name should burn my lips, yet I can't let her go.

But when pieces of the past catch up with us, will I be able to keep her safe?

Eilidh

I've spent most of my life running, but that bastard had my number from almost the second our eyes meet. He's the first of his kind to break through my defenses when I thought I was safe here, of all places.

He's done worse than steal my heart--he's given me hope.

Now what the hell do I do?

Especially when it looks like my past is catching up with us.

This time, I might have run out of options.

Eilidh has been on the run from something that appears to be a demon dog but she thinks it might have killed her dad too. She's now protected by the vampires and the werewolves and makes extra money selling her blood to the vampire king to sell in his club because there's something special about her blood.

Dexter was ready to meet the sun but one taste of Eilidh's blood gives him something to live for. After meeting her, he wants nothing more than for her to trust him so he can keep her safe but she has secrets. He'll do whatever he has to in order to win her over.

Eilidh and Dexter are drawn to each other right away and I really liked how sweet he was with her because he knew that she would probably run away from him if he came on too strong right away. After a couple of dates it's not long before they are seeing each other a lot and really getting along. They share their secrets with one another and it was great getting to know them.

Lucius, the vampire king and Garrett the alpha of the werewolves had a treaty to work together for the best interests of both species, they found a way to find common ground. So when Dexter comes to town and asks to meet with Garrett, Lucius sets up the meeting but everyone wants Eilidh there because they all like and trust her. Things go well and Dexter is ready to move on to building a new life there with Eilidh and even get along with the werewolves but as soon as Eilidh and Dexter have gotten close to being ready to move on with their relationship and maybe even move on together, that huge black demon looking dog that the vampires are calling a Gwyllgi, is spotted by Eilidh and she runs.

Eilidh doesn't want the demon dog to hurt her new friends so she thinks the only thing she can do to keep them safe is to run and hope that the demon dog follows her trail. But Garrett, Lucius and Dexter are all determined to work together to bring her back, keep her safe and get rid of the demon dog somehow.

I really like how they all worked together to figure out where Eilidh was and what the demon dog was and why it was following her. When it was finally revealed, it was quite the twist and I loved it. The ending for this book was so sweet and I really hope we see more of her family's storyline in subsequent books.

OMG.... OMG... YES! FINALLY A GREAT SHIFTER BOOK! I LOVE THIS SOOO MUCH! I lost count on how many times i say aawww... because thats how much i was touched by reading this book... the characters like where do i even begin....

Shall we?

~~~ SHIFTERS. THE HERO IS A VAMPIRE AND THE HEROINE IS A RARE SPECIES that made the vampire and wolf world are very fascinated by the heroine. Not only the inside of her is unique but outside as well.
The heroine is half human.
~~~ SAFE ROMANTIC HOT SWEET LOVE STORY... LIKE WOWWWW! 🙌

~~~ NO CHEATING.
~~~ THE HERO IS DEFINITELY OTT POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE!

~~~ MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO... He gets jealous very easily...
EVEN AT FIRST MEETING HER. And all the way through you can read many jealous scenes from the hero that just hilarious for me sometimes...
"As she walks away, i want to rip the human's throat for interrupting us..."
"I FEEL LIKE I'LL CRAWL OUT OF MY DAMNED SKIN WATCHING OTHERS TALK TO HER, ESPECIALLY OTHER VAMPIRES. I WANT TO STAKE THE ONES WHO MAKE HER SMILE."
~~~ LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT! THE HERO HAD IT BAD but the heroine was too stubborn to acknowledge it at first but she knew deep down that the hero is different from many.

THE HERO IMMEDIATELY WANTS THE HEROINE even when he first drink her blood from a sample that she gave to her friend, and when he first saw her in person.

THE HERO:

"Literally this is a new reaction of me. My control never tested like this."

"NO ONE EVER AFFECTED ME LIKE THIS BEFORE. NEVER."

THE HERO BECAME VERY OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE AND PURSUING HER... HE ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE HEROINE IS SPECIAL AND TREAT HER VERY WELL.

~~~ IT HAS PUSHING AWAY like two times or three times from the heroine. You will understand why when you read her reasoning. BUT NEVER TOO MUCH AND NOT TOO ANNOYING. THE HERO NEVER PUSH THE HEROINE AWAY, NEVER... EVEN when she told him that she don't want to be exclusive to him because she have a trust issues, HE NEVER MADE THAT A ISSUE.
~~~ THE HEROINE IS A BAD ASS! She's funny, smart and intelligent. She knows how to make the hero laugh so many times. She is very confident and a lil stubborn.
She knows how to fight... SHE HAVE A TRUST ISSUES with the whole world and with the shifters so thats why sometimes she likes to be alone and hard on herself.

~~~ THE HERO IS A LONG TIME VAMPIRE. he is strong and very lonely. he felt sad most of the time before meeting the heroine... I won't get into it because it was just sad for him. BUT IM GLAD WHEN HE MEET THE HEROINE HE JUST REALLY LIKE FIND HIS REASON AGAIN TO LIVE... EVEN WHEN she told him no promises...
~~~ IT HAS SEPARATION 7 WEEKS. because the heroine was scared of her own life and about her past so she ran away. DURING THIS TIME BOTH COUPLE ARE VERY LOYAL AND DIDN'T GO OR TOUCH ANYONE ELSE. WHEN THEY REUNITED like omg it was so romantic and sweet...

~~~ when they meet and talk for the first time because the hero is actually the one who is the first to know her own tricks. HE IMMEDIATELY SAYS HEY CAN I TAKE YOU ON A DATE PLEASE?
Very gentlemen...
~~~ VERY VERY HOT SMUT SCENES. NO PROTECTION.... NO VIRGINS...

BUT BOTH HAVE BEEN CELIBATE for a while like years...

PAST PARTNERS DO Mention from the hero but only because he felt very important from that ex who died. The heroine never mention or speaks about her ex.....

~~~ THE HERO ALWAYS... ALWAYS... SAID TO THE HEROINE THAT YOU ARE MINE.
MINE.
MINE.
SAY IT, MINE!
~~~ THE HERO ALWAYS... ALWAYS... SO SWEET TO THE HEROINE EVEN IN HIS OWN WORDS AND when he speaks to her, its always so sweet and how much he really loves the heroine very much...

~~~ WHEN HE FIRST MEET THE HEROINE and that moment he can do anything. He didn't go to anyone else... even when someone offer that to him. HE JUST FOCUSED ON WANTING THE HEROINE EVEN SHE DIDN'T LEAD HIM ON.
"The thought of touching someone other than her leaves me cold."
Like boom. First sight, he just became loyal.
~~~ IT HAS A BIT BDSM. BUT not too much or too overwhelmed... just a bit. And that tiny bit is okay, and hot.

~~~ NO DRAMA WITH OW OR OM. THE DRAMA IS ONLY BETWEEN OTHER PEOPLE AND ABOUT THE people from her past...
~~~ HAPPY ENDING! they will got married and will have kids. Because one of her friend who can see the visions actually see their amazing future with kids. And very much in love foreveeeer....

*First time reading author

Her Vampire Obsession is the seventh book on this offshoot set of books, and I am loving each and everyone for their individual stories and characters. Each author brings something unique, dangerous, and sexy. This story is no different. Lesli brings her own brand of paranormal to this story with not only vampires, wolves, and a whole nother world.

These characters are strong, independent, sexy, and complicated. It is everything you hope for in a PNR story. I couldn't put it down. Again I have never read Lesli before but that will change now. I am a fan now and will be reading more of her books.

Her Vampire Obsession is a must-read!

If you're a fan of vampire romance stories that are well written, then you need to read Her Vampire Obsession by Lesli Richardson. This stand-alone is book seven of the Midnight Doms series and you can read theses books in any order. You get twist and turns, danger, drama, secrets, surprises, hope, and so much more.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

This was my least favorite of an otherwise stellar series. Where to begin.

I found both Eilidh and Dexter one dimensional characters and couldn't grasp much chemistry between the two of them. Eilidh is supposed to be 35 yrs old, yet she talks like she's 16 and very immature.

I was annoyed by the inner monologue of each character, more so of Eilidh 's. Both broke the fourth wall, speaking to The reader, even though the book is written in first person. A couple of these bizarre thoughts from Dexter:

"Eh, metaphorically speaking. Meaning people are fired. Jeez, what kind of monster do you think I am?"

"Of course, I can’t tell them I’m a vampire. Are you mad? "

Some examples from Eilidh's thoughts:

"Duh, she’s asleep"
"#notsorry"
"Hey, don’t judge."
"#irony"

This fourth wall breaking isn't wrong necessarily from a fiction standpoint...just really jarring when most of the story is standard first person.

I also found Eilidh 's backstory, when it is discovered, to be too complicated, and I felt like if the author was going to create a new world, we needed more about it. There was so much of This book I would have gotten rid of in favor of more world building. Also, the author uses a term that is so close to Asgard and Thor mythology that I origin thought perhaps it was misspelled. The author's word described something similar to Asgard's in my opinion.

All in all, it was written and edited well, and the core story was interesting. I just needed more.

I loved this story. I loved the Welsh mythology used within it. I loved the two main characters, Dexter and Eilidh, and how well developed they were. The ending turned out to be a little different than most vampire stories and was intriguing. I want to read more about the other characters within this story. I know that there is another book that has Lucius and Selene's story but I want to know more about the other characters as well. I loved that this was a big book.
Why not 5 stars? Quite a few passages were repeated information that weren't necessary and slowed down the flow of the plot.

Hmmmm...so much potential, but I cannot even put this one on my kink shelf as we just didn't get much of smexy vamp action, but some crazy drama, then more drama, then a fuck up at dawn that leads to drams, then like literally a whole other world of drama and then some family drama...when was the sex coming I kept asking myself...so much in their own heads! I love dialogue and for two characters that kept saying they need to talk they did precious little of it.

Wow! Rollercoaster from brilliant to awful!

What an amazing start to this book. He’s an ancient vampire that doesn’t want to live anymore. She’s human but not quite as she can’t be compelled by vampires and she can sort of compel them. The vampire king Lucius does some matchmaking as he thinks they’ll be brilliant together. That’s when it starts going really wrong. How many conversations do they need to have in their heads? They’re constantly having conversations with themselves. I started skimming pages because I wanted to know if they got it together. After reading 6438 pages I felt like it was never going to end!!! After reading someone else’s review about how she acts like a child, I totally agree!! She acts like she’s 14 not 35! Sorry as I loved other books in this series but this one was terrible!

Best in some ways but the least steamy and too long - read on KU

This book is actually that. Most of the others have felt like novellas. This one was definitely full length. There were a lot of places where we're given too much mundane info. For instance, Dexter talks about everyday things he's doing while waiting on his dinner to cook, or something like that. There is so much telling in the book. We needed more showing. I just can't emphasize enough how much nonsense was in the book that did nothing to move the story along. I had to skim a lot of parts.

I hate when authors use names we can't pronounce BUT Ms. Richardson has an extra prologue to tell us how to pronounce Eilidh. Not sure I spelled that correctly. It is pronounced like Haylee but without the H.

The book had some really good elements. It had the best story outside of the couple getting together but that was wordy, too. It ventured into the supernatural into something I think the author made up completely that overlapped with a dimension where mpreg was a thing. I really don't like mpreg stories but don't hold that against the book. It does make me not to read more by the author.

I absolutely loved how our FMC was a tie between Garrett and the vampires. Dexter had plans to build a casino/resort in Tuscon that would be beneficial to the were and vamp communities.

This story brings Garrett and his mate, Amber, into it a lot. Amber, who can see bits of the future had a lot to say here. I would like to read a sequel based on this new build up but I doubt the next book in the series will have anything to do with Dexter and Eilidh. That is definitely one downside of this series. The only common thread is Lucius and his staff. I wish each book had a little something about the previous story. Jackson and Kylie from the first Bad Boy alpha book were mentioned. Her hacking skills were used. That was good, because this series as a whole has been weak in the use of technology and security systems. They haven't been used as they would be by uber wealthy business owners.

This book needed editing. Or perhaps an editor with a better knowledge of proper grammar. I lost count of how often sentences started with "me and..." Sentences should almost never start with object pronouns (me, him, her, whom). They did frequently in this book. I'm seeing this more and more in books and it is seems to represent a sad decline in the English language. College graduates seem to graduate without knowing better. It makes the speaker sound ignorant. I don't remember what other mistakes I saw but there was another mistake she made frequently. Misuse of personal pronouns is a pet peeve of mine, so those always stick out to me. IMO, if you can't correctly use "whom," just never use it. I think it makes the person look more uneducated to use whom when who is correct than the other way around. It seems like the person feels like they are going out of their way to be correct and are making an error instead. I see that a lot with people who change "me" to "I" if there is a second person in the sentence that is also an object. Strangely, I don't think I saw the error in that direction here.

I very much liked the characters and the uniqueness that was Eilidh. I wanted to love the story and was disappointed. The sex scenes were a huge disappointment. They were no where near as hot as the other books. There were mostly vanilla aside from some spanking. And they were not written in a way that built anticipation.

Bottom line, good elements, bad implementation, and not hot compared to the series. I won't read more by the author but would like to read about whatever Amber sees in her visions of the future after this book.

Overall, I did like this one. Dexter and Eilidh worked as a couple for me and they were solid characters. But I absolutely hated all the #hashtagthinking in this book. For fuck's sake, Eilidh was thirty something and obviously Dexter was centuries old. Stop making them sound like vapid little teenagers without a brain. I also grew tired of Dexter constantly thinking about his dead husband and always comparing him with Eilidh.

This time we get another FMC that isn't quite human but nobody knows what she really is. Eilidh has been running for most of her life and she doesn't even know what's chasing her. Just that she's certain it killed her parents and she's terrified of it getting her. She ends up working at Club Toxic, but also doing jobs for the werewolves. She's basically a neutral party that does stuff for both. And she likes it there.

Dexter is in the city because he's looking to expand his empire more or less. He already has his own territory with very lucrative businesses, but he wants change. So he has come to Tuscon with a business proposal for both sides. While there to meet with Lucius, obviously he meets Eilidh. And these two hit it off right away.

I actually liked how Dexter wasn't all asshole-y with trying to order Eilidh around like other doms in this series. He literally wants to woo her because he is immediately smitten with her. He doesn't care how long it takes for her to develop feelings for him back, or if she ever does. He genuinely just wants to be around her and see her safe and happy. Which is a huge part of what does win her over.

Eilidh is definitely starting to think she's found someone she can be happy with when the creature appears again. Sending her running. Again. And nothing will stop Dexter from finding her. But he also knows that he has to solve the puzzle OF her to keep her, so he takes a little trip overseas to get some clues about this creature. It's a little while until Eilidh is finally tracked down and shortly after that they finally learn her history and parentage.

And this part was a bit....complicated?...for a single short story within a series written by various authors. I get where this author was trying to go with things, but it was like an info bomb at the end with all sorts of myths and histories that I highly doubt any of the other authors are even going to brush upon. So what was the point? It would have been just as impactful to say Eilidh was a hybrid between this race and that race. Boom. Done. Easy. Moving on.

So yeah. Overall, this was a pretty good read with only a handful of things that bugged me. Which I guess is a win.

interesting story

I learned some new, well old folks tales and legends I’d never heard of before. And that’s rare. Welsh folklore and such . Made this story very interesting.
My only issue was the IONTO /TORCHWOOD references.. I wish I had never looked them up. Author going on about this ionto character and how dex looks just like him.. and while the descriptions are about how tall and buff and gorgeous a muscular he is .. but when I looked up this gut .. what I saw was not that description .. it was some scrawny nerdy guy that looked less like a line backer and more like a nerdy tax man or accountant! Or SHELDON COOPER! Like a lanky scrawny insect ! Oh lawd no! Now I can not get that awful imagine out 0f my.

I’m writing my own book . I learned a valuable lesson.. do not ever compare your characters to real people or film, the reader will most def look them up.. and if that pets does not live up to the person they have in their minds…ooooo boy!!! Good way to ruin the story for them x

And in Addition to that,…/do not ever have the character talk directly to the reader..breaking the 4th wall with the reader.. it rips them out of the story and can ruin the story for them

On paper, Dexter has come to Tucson scouting for expansion opportunities but in actuality, he's been alive for over two thousand years and has about aged himself out of Atlantic City. Besides, even though he's thought about meeting the sun several times throughout the years, this time the thought is not leaving. He decides to go to Tucson and visit his 'uncle' and get a blessing to open a new casino in his territory. Connie Doe, aka Blue, aka Blondie, aka Pink, aka Eilidh, is human as far as anyone knows but she has specials talents. Some of which she hasn't shared with anyone else at Club Toxic. When these two meet life as they know it will change but will it be for the better or worse? I
I can't imagine why I haven't known about Lesli Richardson before now! I'm absolutely blown away by the talent of her writing, world-building, and characters she brought to a great series. I'm a huge mythology geek and this one is absolutely spellbinding with its mysteries, twists, and turns. If you've been keeping up with the "Midnight Doms" series, then you absolutely do not want to miss this one. I feel like this one just took us to the next level. Not to mention me getting to know a new author that I will definitely be following.

If you love vampires, shifters and other interesting characters then look no further than this book as it will have any reader mesmerized as Ms. Richardson spins the tale of Dexter and Eilidh. Dexter is a vampire who was living on a precipice that had him questioning if life was still worth living. This brought him to Tucson to see his “uncle” Lucius to discuss a business proposition. During his stay, Lucius introduces him to Eilidh and immediately he is enthralled. Eilidh has somewhat of an interesting past that she does not know much about. As Dexter and Eilidh form a friendship, things are tested as her unbeknown past comes back to haunt her. Add in some new information from her good friend and seer, Amber, and the stakes get even higher. This is one well written storyline filled with drama, twists, turns, and surprises. It is a wonderful addition to the Midnight Doms series and I look forward to reading more. I volunteered to read an advance copy and purchased it.

Book 6

While this book is definitely my least favorite in this series, It is Well written. The inner angst of the main characters could have easily been cut in half it becomes extremely redundant. Also the MMC is continuously thinking of his deceased spouse Robert who died hundreds of years ago and yet is definitely close to being a main character in this story because he is in it almost every other paragraph. The first half of the book goes along pretty good but then when you get towards the end it's pretty confused. I haven't quite understood how men can be omegas? Or how two men are supposed to produce a child? But okay whatever. But as I said it is well written and you do get a lot of build up of the development of their relationship although it seems that he is definitely more willing to fight and sacrifice for that relationship than she is. There are definitely points in this book that are important to the overarching series so it's worth reading but I won't be reading it a second time

What a surprise!
The court of Lucius Angelico gets an addition. But this is not a supplicant but a contemporary of Lucius, old and world weary, with a business plan that would benefit both vampires and shifters.
And then he meets Blue. Enigmatic, snarky, strong willed, straightforward messenger between all factions of the supernaturals.
They fall in love and live happily ever after. Right? Wrong!
They do fall in love but through many twists and turns their story unfolds into a saga of epic proportions. Not only do you get loads of information about the workings and interactions of vamps and shifters, of the politics involved, and surprising facts about people you already know. All of a sudden you're in a completely different realm of storytelling.
I am certain we will read a lot more about all the new and the well known players of this story. I, for one, can't wait to find out what happens next.

Loved the story. It was well written, entertaining and kept my interest until the very end. Dexter is an ancient vampire, close to 2,000 years old, who finds a human female, Eilidh intriguing. After the love of his life, Robert died centuries ago, he is amazed at the attraction he feels toward her. Eilidh has her own secrets that causes her to move when danger gets close. As the attraction between them grow, she is not quick to let him into her life because she never knows when she might have to leave. She has been on the move for the past twenty years and appears to be moving again. The book describes her unique abilities, her fear of being out after dark, the father she thought dead may not be dead after all, her heritage which is a shock to everyone and old memories that she had buried deep. Because of her uniqueness she becomes a lifeline to Dexter. There is a HEA for them along with other life changes for Dexter. This is a great read and I would highly recommend it.

Dexter story is great.

Inspiring Vampire, and so much more!!

Vampire Dexter is looking to move from Atlantic City to Tucson, for a new business deal, and because he is about to “age out” at his current location. A courtesy call to Lucius, the vampire in power there has him changing his thoughts of “meeting the sunset”.

“Connie” flies under the radar. She goes by the name of the color of the wig of the day – “Blue”, “Pink” or “Blondie”. The vampires cannot thrall her – in fact quite the opposite. She has a tragic past and runs whenever trouble appears.

When Dexter and “Blue” hit it off, perhaps they both have a shift in their future. Until the inexplicable happens and Blue must disappear.

Plenty of bdsm, vampires and all the expected ingredients, and a dash of something very special makes this an especially entertaining read!!

From the start I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters of Eilidh & Dex & enjoyed their interaction. I also liked that their were characters in this story that have previously featured in the other Midnight Doms/Bad Boy Alpha series, which made it feel comfortable & familiar. I was really into this story until about 2/3 of the way through. Then we discovered Eilidh's secret. I found this whole section of the book too confusing & convoluted. I could have enjoyed it more if it wasn't so crammed into a small section of the book, perhaps if it became it's own 'origin' style read. There were parts of this section I liked, but it made it feel too rushed & as a reader I felt pushed through. Luckily, this section was finished with by the time we got to the last couple of chapters so it finished on a higher note. I wouldn't be averse to future books exploring the origin dynamic but it really needs more time allotted to it than this book allowed.

Limitless love

Dexter is old and tired and yet when he meets Eilidh his interest is captivated.
Eilidh is a woman of mystery and secrets and doesn't do relationships. But fate has something else planned for them.
Dexter is sweet, dominant, and obsessed and she is ready to run at a moments notice due to her past. Their chemistry, heat and their new feelings are intense, but sometimes the past is not done with you.
When she runs he and their friends will do anything to find her! Old and new friends and characters all play a part in their story. There is magic, legends and a wonderful story of love and hope and new beginnings. I loved the characters and their journey!
I was personally thrilled to have a country my family is from play such a pivotal role in their story, it truly is a place of history and magic.

Captivating thriller, steam hot

I've read it before but didn't leave a review, sorry. Ice decided that I'll review all the books from now on.
It's captivating, wondering if not-ianto and whatever wig color she's wearing will ever become a couple or if her stocker mystery thingy will catch her before anything happens.
Love how the story develops, no in-n-out, trust and je ne sais quoi leads to an obsession that isn't stocker-ish, it's more romantic. And any true Dom wants to protect their lovely little Sub. Never stopping her from being who she, letting her discover what path to take with a protective partner. Hope I intrigued you to read it, and haven't revealed to much. Love true love

The Midnight Doms series continues in this invigorating and captivating tale. I felt the story was very thorough with the additional world building to explain Eilidh Connover’s (aka: Blue, Pink, Connie) character and her abilities. When Dexter Van Sussex first sees her, he is hooked. She had never been with a vampire before, but she was also intrigued with him. These two strong characters were wonderful together. Love how the story just kept growing and growing and how our lovely Amber and Garret, Selene and Lucius were prevalent throughout. Wonderfully written and a must read for all vampire enthusiasts. I received an ARC and voluntarily left an honest review.

Figuring out about true mates

Eilidh uses many names, she sometimes goes by Connie. She is very special to both the Vampire and Wolf communities. One day this hot looking Vampire, Dexter, who looks like Ianto from Torchwood, comes into the bar/ club where she works.
Sparks fly, and a friendship is born with hopes of more.
There is a lot going on in this story. First, there is Eilidh’s back story, Dexters story, and some new friends and a blossoming love.
I really enjoyed this story as their relationship develops, and their many adventures. Some I was quite anxious with. I loved their snark with each other and . I would definitely recommend.

A hot, sexy, sweet, very full, interesting story. This is a full length full book. There are not enough adjectivies to describe this very well written story. I loved all the others in this series but for me this one was a cut above. I loved independent spicy Eilidh, she takes no prisoners or guff. Dexter is old, rich and lonely and so determined to have her. There are some spankings, hot sexy scenes and BDSM, all very well done. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I very highly recommend it. This is one book that you will be happy that you have read. Wonderful. Entertaining. Fun. Enjoyable.

There was a lot of new lore in this one and it made it confusing. There was a lot repeated statements and it dragged on. There wasn’t really a strong plot. I didn’t like the way the author misused Norse and welsh mythology’s because I already had context but the the author changed that and made creative licenses. I guess if you can look past all that it was alright. The vampire is not the worst character I’ve read in the series but he was very contradictory. And I thought it was weird how liberal dexter was about bedroom things with the Mc’s parents. Because in reality most people are uncomfortable talking about that stuff with there parents. Especially fathers like in this context.

I loved this book so much. Dexter and Eilidh were amazing characters that were easy to connect with and root for. Their attraction was seismic, their connection elemental and their chemistry incendiary. This story quickly nabbed my attention and held it with its enticing blend of twists, drama, surprises, new discoveries, danger, excitement, familiar faces and some intriguing new ones. I can't wait for the next book because I'm really enjoying this wonderful series. This is my independent, impartial review.

I’m relatively new to the Midnight Dom series and I haven’t had much of a chance to read through them but what I do like is that each one is by a favored author. When I saw that Lesli Richardson had one, I had to stop and read. This was such an amazing story that I’ve no idea where to being. Ms. Richardson does an incredible job with the storytelling. Not only do we have the (reluctant) relationship building, we have such detailed character development and we are left hanging all the way toward the end as to who/what Connie really is. I definitely recommend.

Delightful story of love, romance, and BDSM scenes!

I gave this five stars because I had to read it in spurtsoh, and I had time away from my active six and seven-year-old grandchildren. the story between the two main characters was well developed and I felt like love led the story and romance and then the BDSM was there to enhance the backstory. As I finished the last chapters, I was left with a smirk on my face happiness and strong feeling Within me of comfort? I enjoyed this book like I said five stars worth immensely!

For the first three quarters of the story I was thinking this was the best book in the series so far. The characters were great as was the mystery of what was going on with them. Towards the end though, both main characters start talking like a young person with hashtags and shortened words. It was annoying that a two thousand year old vampire would change his speech to match hers. It was also frustrating how some plot points were not fully explored and others were beat to death by the end.
