Continuation of Forbidden Lust and I enjoyed it. This story literally picks up where the first one ended. I’m still liking the characters and I’m so happy that one of my fave side characters didn’t betray Hudson. I was getting a little nervous at first. The secrets, the mysterious vibes, the lies and now the ending of this one…book 3 here I come.

I think I liked this one less than the first one. I thought a lot of what happened was unnecessary and I still fill like there were so many missing plot points. Everything moved pretty quickly and almost too quickly. I feel like Hudson and Mia's relationship went flat and was way more one-note in this book than it was in the first one. It seemed lackluster and even though dark things were happening, I felt much more of a disconnect. Definitely check trigger warnings because there were a ton of them in this one. The dialogue was boring for me and I found myself struggling to get through it even though it was a short book. It left on a cliffhanger of course and I'm debating whether or not I will finish the series. I'm not usually a dark romance/ mafia trope girl, but figured I'd give the series a try anyway and it's just not doing it for me.

This is the second book in The Kingpin series, and the continuation of Hudson, and Mia's story. When Mia is Kidnapped, Hudson will stop at nothing to bring her back. This was an amazing read, the characters are well written, and this book captivated me all the way through, this was a roller coaster of highs, and lows, with plenty of twists, and turns, and a web of secrets, and deceit. This is emotional, dramatic, raw, gritty, intense, twisted, mysterious, and suspenseful. This is a must read!

Loving the continuation of Mia and Hudson’s story and it picked up right where book one ended. As some mysteries come to light more mysteries stirring under the surface. The angst is on point in this story and so is the intrigue were it was enough to keep me hooked, looking forward to see how the rest of the story unfolds.

Hudson and Mia are thrown for another loop when she is kidnapped and Hudson is trying to find her. Hudson is never giving up until he finds Mia. Mia is a strong, determined woman but will she stay by Hudson's side when she finds out his secret? Can Hudson let her go if she wants to leave? A good read and the cliffhanger leaves you wanting the next story NOW.

After the way book 1 ended I was excited to immediately jump straight into book 2 and get some answers. There are so many players and pieces of the puzzle at play it's hard figuring out what fits where.
From page 1 you'll be instantly sucked into the action trying to figure it all out, turning pages at a fast pace to get those answers that seem to just be out of reach, doubting everyone and everything. You'll feel like you're on a rollercoaster of emotions.
So much happens within these pages I won't say much more as it needs to be experienced first hand. I couldn't put this book down until I had finished, but was worth the lack of sleep. If you've read book 1, 1-click immediately.

How much I loved the first book and how I will not see this book !!! SHE was raped !!!! I do not like to read about this, why would I need it !!!! I was so disappointed !!! That's why I don't like serial books, in the first series everything is fine and then the writers spoil everything !!!!!!!

OH MY EVERLOVIN' HELL! WHAT AN EXCITING HEART POUNDING READ! Dangerous Secrets comes out of the gate at a full gallop, and it never slowed down, and I'm still all kinds of jacked up! After Forbidden Lust (Book 1), which YOU MUST READ FIRST, I had a TON of questions that needed to be answered, though I'm not sure that they have been honestly, as there's now more questions. I hope you understand that this means there are twists upon twists all turned out, and I was left just dropping f-bomb after f-bomb, so checking off my biggest box of the perfect read. Man, poor Mia, while Hudson has quite the quandary going as he has to figure out things at the speed of light, and that's all I'm saying about that & you'll just have to read the blurb. I can tell you this, I CANNOT get enough of the brilliant Brooke Summers' writing, as I'm all in, and here for it all! I cannot stress this enough, hit those one click buttons IMMEDIATELY, and if you haven't started the Kingpin series yet, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! As for me, I'm dying inside waiting for more, so I'll end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL!

Now since I provided you with the warning, I just want to say that I freaking cried when reading this book. For a couple to have a forbidden love and still persevere. So when we finished with book one on the cliffy we continue. You immediately get sucked into the book. You can feel the emotions Hudson gives off on each page. Your heart breaks and you cry when you read what Mia endures. Seriously Mia's mom, that women is crazy. However, Mia tries to give her a chance. Will that back fire? Harrison may have actually seen who his wife really is? There is betrayal and tragedy that unfold through out the book. Then you see how strong Mia is? Is it a facade? I can say that I am very proud of her. There was so much that happens through out the book that the secret literally spun me. That ending? All I am saying Brooke is I better getting a double HEA in book three. I cannot wait.

5 stars for Dangerous Secrets by Brooke Summers. This is book 2 in the Kingpin series. Holy Cliffhanger. Wow can Brooke Summers write a cliffhanger. I am a big fan of cliffhangers and she does them well. This book picks up right where the cliffhanger from book 1 left us. I don’t know what to say with out giving stuff away and I don’t want to spoil anything. I will say that nothing is as it seems, and Hudson can’t and doesn’t trust anyone. Mia and Lacey are in hell and so is Hudson while looking for them. He just wants Mia back. That is all I am going to say about the story itself. I will tell you that if you have certain triggers then this book might not be for you. This book/series is amazing so far and I can not wait for what is to come. I am going to be waiting on the edge of my seat for book 3 to come out. This is a must read, great work Brooke Summers.

Major triggers with what happened to Mia! Ugh! Brought back some serious memories. So of you are a victim of SA please understand that it delves into that and the after math is brutal. Other than that, it's a good story and I wasn't expecting it to be who it was. And that makes me so angry. I absolutely despise Mia's mother. Wondering why no one has shot her yet. Honestly i think she's been betraying Hudson somehow. Just have a really bad feeling about the whole thing. I hope that Mias baby is Hudsons! She does not need another hit to her mental health. Really interested to see how this series is going to end and where the story will end up

The Kingpin Series is the first series I have read by this author. I LITERALLY read all three books straight through from beginning to end. I turned the last page at 4AM and it was totally worth it. Each book ends on a cliffhanger in the PERFECT place. I was so invested in the story that I immediately download the next book in the series. I am grateful that the series is finished and that all three books are in KU.
This is a classic mafia series with fantastic surprises along the way.

Same as the first book in this series, I loved this one. Hudson is still one of my fav book bfs, and Mia is so strong, stronger than I could ever be. There are so many secrets and lies in this book, there's sadness, and there is happiness, everything we as a reader want in a book. And that cliff hanger at the end of the book will have you wanting to throw your reader across the room. I can't wait till the next book!

This is the 2nd book in this series and is a continuation of Hudson and Mia’s story. This story is just as dark and intense as the 1st book, and when Mia is kidnapped Hudson will go to any lengths to get her back. This is a well written flawless story which is filled with angst, secrets, lies, action, twists, and is a thrilling and steamy read. I cannot wait to read #3, and I highly recommend for all lovers of a dark tale.

This is the second book in the Kingpin series and it picks up after Book 1’s cliffy, thank God! But oh man, poor Mia. She got thrown immediately into the fray and it’s Hudson’s worst nightmare realized. This book is truly action packed but it’s also full of revelations and mysteries that need to be solved. Once you pick this one up, be prepared to not be able to stop! Be sure to read trigger warnings as this book was dark. Overall an amazing continuation and set up for book 3!

So happy I finally got my hands on book 2! I love these books. These books are filled with action, suspense & sex. The love between Mia & Hudson is strong & will keep you turning the pages. My heart broke to know who was out to hurt them.

Wow book 2 in the series dosent disappoint Mia and Hudson’s story is a cant put down I found myself eager to find out what happened to them the characters that I felt I knew from the first book with twists and turns you won’t see coming it will have you hooked. I cant wait now for book 3 to find out what happens to the them all. Highly recommend as a must read to others.

Dark Romance at its finest!! Wow!! What did I read! This book is engrossing from the first page to the last!! I stayed up until the early hours because I had to finish it! Hudson is definitely deserving of his place in my harem! Can't wait for the next book!!

The suspense continues, and it's so good!
As this second book continues with Mia missing, we find Hudson doing everything in his power to locate Mia. Hudson is desperate to find her at any cost. Great on the edge of your seat suspense, and it's so good. I found this entertaining, unpredictable, and romantic.

Secrets, lies, and a healthy dose of betrayal seems the order of the day for Hudson and Mia. Hudson is out of his mind, paranoid because someone has taken Mia and Lacey, someone close to him. Can this get any better I am burning through the story but don't want it to finish. I voluntarily reviewed this book

I seriously cannot believe what has happened to Mia in her life. No one should go through that and especially in such a short amount of time.
I was crying in the first part of the book and I don’t think I really stopped.
I still love the relationship between Hudson and Mia. I love how they love each other, it’s sooooo cute.

Good Story
Love Hudson and Mia’s story. She’s been brutalized, tormented and beaten. He will anything to find her. The story is fast paced and definitely keep you engrossed. What I didn’t like was the way the author keeps flipping from American to British terminology. It has to be one or the other.

Thrilling!!
Wow Mia and Hudson's story keeps getting more and more intense. I'm loving it. When Hudson finds out who the traitor is He is bound and determined to keep her safe. I can't wait for the conclusion of their story. I know its going to be epic. I highly recommend this series.

This series keeps the momentum in book 2. I did initially have some issues with the assault scene aftermath, it was super traumatic, and yes, the heroine is strong, but. This also ended on a cliffhanger, I was less inclined to continue than with the first one, but in for a penny, in for a pound and all that.
