Oglaf #2

Oglaf : Tome 2

Rate this book
We're definitely not predicting a global cataclysm, but if one comes along, what will happen to the webcomics? They'll disappear forever as the grid goes down. Here at Oglaf, we want future generations to know our dreams, our dick jokes, the unquenchable rage of an insane and burning god. Also a short parody of a role-playing module that's almost playable! Although, full disclosure, we once made a saxophone out of hosepipe that we consider almost playable.

Anyhow, we printed a book. Probably we'll hide some in a cave or something. Who knows what future generations will be into? Maybe it's this.

1. This is NSFW. (Probably. Depending on where you work.) As it's full of funny, funny sex. And other strangeness that defies explication.

2. It's one of the funniest comics I've ever read.

3. This book is extra awesome, as it has a D&D-esque module in the back of the book for... well... "It's called Tomb of the Naked Dead."

4. I've bought several copies to give away to my friends for Christmas. (I'm probably not giving any to my family though.)

If you can tolerate some playful, irreverent humor and nudity. I highly recommend you read this comic. And if you read this comic, I recommend you buy this book, because it's nice to support people who produce art you enjoy.

I love this comic as a webcomic but I think it suffered in this volume from being too disjointed. The first volume had a thread of one story with some random adventures but this volume was missing that. It just felt too scattered and only midway did we find any connecting threads.

It's fun and as porny as we've come to expect but it just didn't move as smoothly in book-form for me.

Oglaf simply gets better and better. These remain largely pornographic, fantasy, humor comics of which I am an unapologetic fan of. But what's truly great is watching this universe expand with storylines that are more than just a few gag one-liners. Trudy Cooper creates a wacky and funny and definitely sexy universe that is as inclusive as it is absurd.

Can't wait for Book Three!

Oglaf is the best webcomic. It's full of sex and naked people and strangely while that is entirely the point, it's also entirely beside the point. Oglaf has the best meta analysis of relationships and strangest puns and is always absolutely hilarious.

I have never seen the world as sideways as I do when I'm reading Oglaf.

And also it's porntastic.

The recurring characters are brilliant. The jokes are fantastic. I've had so happy binge-reading through all these and rediscovering characters.

[WARNING] Yes, this is porn. Funny funny sex between everyone and everything. I don't usually like porn, but this can be considered softer than the stuff you can get in the stores, wrapped in brown paper.

No one is safe from the humor, especially the men. They are the butt of everyone's jokes, but the women get it too :D

Now for the review:
Soft porn, maybe some harder porn, some not-at-all-porn-- but whatever it is, it's well drawn and VERY funny, most times at the male's expense! So, guys, take warning: you may NOT like how lightly the male role is in this comic! You will not find respect.

But, oh, this is SO funny!! :D And I"m not even into porn.. But apparently, I AM into Oglaf.

It's a webcomic, btw, updates Sunday night. Just in case Book One and Book Two aren't enough for you.

And also, it's fantasy and medieval themed. So, expect historical jokes as well. Plague, the plague doctors (are vampires, at least in one case), monks, different religious cults, the attitudes. All funny!

My review for Book Two is exactly the same as my review for Book One, because literally nothing is different between the two. Book Two may be a "continuation" but you can't continue something that doesn't have a story or characters who develop. You can, in fact, read the books in any order, start on any page, and be perfectly in the loop. None of my complaints from before have been fixed, and if anything, the series has degraded in humour from before. The art, however, is still good.

Here's my review for Book One.

I think this might have been just a tad better than the first book! There were almost no strips that had that inevitable weirdness/isn't funny thin you get sometimes with web comics. And even though the larger story lines/reacquiring characters were mostly abandoned it felt like there were MORE stories that lasted more than one panel. I think it was because when they were they were self contained stories and thus were more satisfying.

Basically an awesome read for anyone who can see the humor in HIGHLY sexual situations AND likes the Fantasy genre.

⭐4 really liked it
I got this for my birthday!

I can't stop smiling, especially because my partner had no idea what it was and just flipped through the pages with big eyes 🤣.

This comic never fails to make me laugh. It's dirty, smutty fun. Sometimes I don't know what's going on and I don't even care.

These last past months I've been (re)buying stuff I utterly enjoyed in the past. This is one of those things I have to own in physical form!

Just as good as the first, by which I mean most excellent indeed. Insanely funny, and quite adult in nature, rarely going places I'd predict in manners I'd predict.

Even the reveals are still funny on a 2nd - or 17th - re-read.

Still love it, especially as they finally move away from the storylines about Ivan. I think I've read all of these strips too, but I think I stopped reading the webcomic regularly around the equivalent of the end of this book, so I'm going to have to catch up online eventually.

Genius levels of creativity when it comes to reimagining and remixing a combination of fantasy tropes and unrestrained libido. Very funny & extremely NSFW.
