Solo hay uno como tú - Bilingüe: Lo que te hace diferente te hace único

Rate this book

Only You Can Be You! by Nathan and Sally Clarkson, illustrated by Tim Warnes. PICTURE BOOK. Thomas Nelson (Harper Collins Christian Publishing), 2019. $17. 9781400211432

BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) - NO

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

This book covers all the different ways that you may be different from others and others may be different from you. It suggests that all of those differences are okay and were intended by “The Maker of everything.”

The religious bend of this book makes it awkward for a school setting but other than that it is a pretty predictable celebration of differences. The pictures are cutesy and the point clique, but the message that differences are okay is always a welcome one.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

WOW! I love, love this sweet childrens book! And I love the theme, and the journey authors  Sally and her son Nathan Clarkson takes readers on explanning how God makes us all different. And He makes us all great.

I love reviewing awesome children’s books like this because of the importance of teaching our children about God. This book goes a step farther by teaching our children that it’s ok to be different. Our God makes everyone special and unique. And we are perfectly made because it is God who made us. And He makes NO mistakes.

And I can’t leave out the awesome illustrations by Tim Warnes. Each page is filled with unique pictures that are fun, enlightening, enjoyable, and are created just right to catch the eye of every child that sees the book. This is sure one that your child or children will be snatching from the store shelves. I very highly recommend this adorable hard cover book.

A copy of this book was given to me by the author or publisher. I am not required to write a positive review. The opinions here in this review are totally mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’ Cr Rds 16 CFR, Part 255.

My kids may be taller than me and think they are all grown up, but I still read to them. Sometimes I have to bribe them to listen, sometimes I do it in the car with an audio book (think captive audience).

When I opened the package with this book I would not help but read it out loud to my people. I just love this book so much!! Surprisingly, they listened too!
In. a world where the message is that you need to look and act like everyone else, Sally Clarkson and her son Nathan Clarkson have written another book to help kids (of all ages) realize they are perfect with all their differences and quirks!! Only You Can Be You

The illustrations in this book are just perfect! And the story will grab each and every child and speak to their heart!

I love Sally and Nathan Clarkson and their hearts to share God’s love with everyone!

NOTE : I received a copy of Only You Can Be You in exchange for an honest review.

This is a delightful book that will help each of our children understand that they are uniquely designed by God. It will help them rejoice in their differences and understand that God has a pupose for each one of us that only we can fulfill, not despite our differences but because of them. Colorfully and creatively illustrated, this book is sure to become one of your children's all-time favorites!

Every home and school library needs a copy of this wonderful book that celebrates the individual uniqueness of each child. The Illustrations are lively, colorful, and fun. Every child will relate, delight, and identify with the characters and artwork. The message in this book about every child being unique and needed is so healing and vital to our culture today. I am buying many of these to give away as this book will encourage so many children and adults alike.

As a mom of five, I can see the differences in all my kids literally from the moment they are born. Each of them are unique in every way. They all learn differently, grow differently, act differently, love differently, etc., etc. I can see that their differences can reveal their true gifts from God. The rhythm and rhyme of this book will stick with children and help them to see what makes them different is by God's design and makes them great!

Whether you are tall, small, brave, artistic loud, or quiet, it's ok. Maybe you are tough, tender, a builder, or a dreamer, but that makes you different, and that is ok. In a book that explores all the characteristics that make us unique, different, and special, this book shows that “only you can be you,” and that is a beautiful way to be.

Kids and adults alike need this message, and there’s no better way to share it than meaningful moments of reading aloud together, relating to the characters, pictures, and each other. This book is sure to lay a good foundation, the kind that we want our lives and kids lives to be built upon. “Everyone’s different and that’s okay. The Maker if everything made us that way!”
