EXCUSE ME?
OK this book may not be totally up to scratch but I am reading an Advanced copy of it. There were a few bits that seemed out of order as in they had been placed in the wrong part of the chapter, disregarding all that this was a pretty good read and I will read more from this author in the future.
Hope was working towards her dream of opening her own bakery, with the agreement with her boss she had been squirrelling away the money to buy the business when she was ready to retire only to have the rug pulled from under her when she gave the business to her brother instead. But her luck is about to change when she covers a customer in her award winning Pecan Mousse Pie, there is an immediate connection between her and the stranger and soon finds herself in an embrace. Never in a million years would she have thought that someone like Michael would look at a girl like her, but can she really have found happiness or is she his new plaything?
Michael has spent the past few years since his marriage ended playing the field never had he considered being with someone new but when he visits a local bakery to try the award winning pie not only does he end up covered in it but with the girl of his dreams in his arms. From the first touch he knows that she is the woman he was always meant to meet but can he convince her that they are meant to be and when his ex-wife shows up will she ruin what they could have?
I have already said that this isn’t perfect but a good read would have liked more personality and to more about the main characters did feel that I didn’t get to know them all that well and large parts of their relationship of sort of get passed by. 3.5 * Read. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book.
This was a romantic short story of insta-love and an over-the-top older main male character with a larger sized main female character. Life turns around for the main female character once she establishes a relationship with the main male character. Their relationship moves along very quickly and before you know it, they have attained their happily-ever-after. Pleasant read.
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this short story via BookSprout and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.
I love short curvy stories sometimes I need a change from a long novel and I really enjoy these insta- everything romances and I’ve read some really good ones lately and that’s including this story and this is Hope’s and Michael’s story but I’m not going to give any spoilers because the blurb says it all. A fun steamy quick read and I recommend this book.
This book is a fast and sweet love story between a confirmed bachelor and a hard working pastry chef. Michael and Hope won several difficult challenges in life and destiny tumble them together to love and being loved and to overcome all the harshness in their world and love happily ever after.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I honestly HATE leaving bad reviews. But I can not in good conscience leave a good one. The cover of the book is lovely, and that is the only positive experience I had reading this. To start, this book is full of grammatical errors from the first page. Misplaced commas, strange capitalizations, punctuation errors, and more. The characters have no likeable qualities. Actually you barely get to know the characters at all before the sex stuff starts. I had been so excited to read a romance novel with a plus size pastry chef. This was a major letdown. There is almost no character development, all interactions are super rushed, the story is not believable. The scenarios are bizarre. I do not know how this made it through proofreading to be published. I had to force myself to finish the book even though it was so difficult to read I recieved the ARC of this book for free through booksprout. I am leaving an honest review. I won't leave a glorified review just for getting it for free. I read a lot of romance novels and have never had to leave a review like this.
