These are six true stories; stories sprinkled with lies, secrets, and murder. Like wounded forest beasts, their judgement is clouded by pain and rage at the loss of their darlings. Consumed by blinding jealousy, they lose control over their lives, their rage growing inside their beings until it explodes into violence and murder.
The Killing of Birgitte Andersen
He had gone to her apartment earlier that morning, and when he let himself in with his key, he found her lying dead on her bed.
The Murder of David Crump
To all appearances, David was a carefree happy individual. At least, that was the way it appeared to most people. But they couldn't have been more wrong.
The Murder of Michelle Avila
While the hikers were crossing the stream, one of them looked upstream and told his companion that there was something in the water ahead that looked like a body.
The Murder of Gregory Smart
Gregory was already home, his wife discovered. She opened the door of their home and was greeted by the gruesome sight of her husband's bloody corpse lying on the floor.
The Slaying of Deborah Spicer
The fisherman couldn't believe his eyes. He saw a man with what looked like a naked woman hoisted over his shoulder, walking to the edge of the high cliff. With one swift movement, the man lowered the woman from his shoulder and tossed her over the side toward the river, some seventy feet below.
The Shooting of William Strawn
She walked slowly down the hallway and into the living room. And there, she saw a sight that sent a scream rising to her throat and her world reeling. Stretched face down on the living room floor was the body of her fiancé, deathly still.
4.5 Stars Happy for another book by this author, but disappointed by the cover
After I followed Mr. Bogdan on Amazon I began receiving emails regarding his published books. I was very happy to learn that Chris had published this series of four books: Crimes of Passion 6 Horrifying True Crime Cases that Startled the Nation. I was a bit disappointed by the covers of series books two, three, and four. They depicted a very dark male hand covering the faces of attractive white women. The cover of the first book in the series and that of the Deadly Darlings Collections seem more in line based on the crimes that are portrayed in these books.
I enjoyed these stories as I have those in Chris's other books. My To Be Read pile has just grown larger with the emails from Amazon of more books published / released by Chris.
