The Weird Fiction Review is an annual periodical devoted to the study of weird and supernatural fiction. It is edited by John Pelan. This tenth issue contains fiction, poetry, and reviews from leading writers and promising newcomers. This issue features fiction by D. P. Watt, Anna Tambour, Richard Gavin, Marc Laidlaw, Gemma Files and others, and articles by Ron Clinton (an illustrated history of Karl Edward Wagner’s Carcosa), Will Murray (on H. Warner Munn, H.P. Lovecraft, and the origins of At the Mountains of Madness), Chad Hensley (on Toho Godzilla toys), Robert Weinberg (his excellent essay on the history of the horror pulps), as well as other essays and fiction. The front and back cover, and inside covers, are by artist Harry Bliss.
Another excellent issue. As always, I enjoy the history of publishing articles the most. One of the writers dings Underwood-Miller as inferior to a publisher that put out 4 books. That was a dumb conclusion to an otherwise enjoyable article.
