AMERICA is facing its ultimate test. Can it stand, or will it fall?
Reeling from devastating attacks on California and New York, the United States teeters on the brink of collapse. In Oregon, Katie and Zach Nelson are hoping to catch their breath and plot their next move. But a sinister threat drives them from their hiding place.
Meanwhile, Vice President Alana Mills awakens to unexpected and devastating news. Can she help steer the country through this shocking turn of events?
Or is it too late to save the nation?
AMERICA is the third book in the apocalyptic thriller Daughter of Babylon series.
This was a great story and I would recommend it to anyone who likes apocalyptic stories. Any of you who are conservative, I suggest you read the story it is a good one. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
What an exciting and tense read! This third installment never let up on the intensity. With a rapid-fire pace and nonstop action, I couldn't read it fast enough. There was never a dull moment.
There's three different POVs: new president Alana Mills, falsely accused fugitives Zach and Katie Nelson, and Zach's brother Evan and their parents who have just fled to Canada. I really enjoyed each perspective because they all gave a unique look into different aspects of the crisis.
Highly realistic, it's not hard to imagine things devolving into this kind of chaos in real life. Especially now. This is not a standalone, so definitely start with book one. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys apocalyptic fiction.
America is on the brink of a history as this third instalment brings another carpet to Jamie's brilliant saga
With the fires destroying California and an innocent man on the run , and a new York melting down from Nuclear fallout , America would appear to be on life support ,if only that was all that was going on.... Jamie pens another brilliant Story that captivates and will take your breath away . My only learning is not to read this book late at night , I did and I.needed up staying up all!let all.might to finish it , but it was worth it and there is always coffee . Read this book and if you haven't go back and read the other two : California , and New York
This KU library selection is the continuation of the overarching storyline of the Daughter of Babylon series. Locations and characters: Alana (POTUS).the White House bunker; Zach and Katie, a pastor/blogger from California who is falsely charged and on the run in Oregon; and Zach's brother Evan, a professor who has escaped into Canada. These three pov's rotate through the book, sometimes quickly. I'm looking forward to book 4, Oregon.
Tense, yet enjoyable read. The storyline travels along at a quick pace with good characters and detailed structure. Political duplicity in the books are no less complicated than those played out on the national stage. Politicians that lie, innocent people targeted and sacrificed as scapegoats for their evil schemes, and unanticipated disaster ; you can't make this stuff up. Regardless, God in his Sovereignty, establishes His plan, while the political elite are clueless. Highly recommended reading.
Have you ever had a really terrible day? Well, they are! And it's not like the movie Groundhog Day where it keeps repeating. It's just one really bad day followed by another that is worse when compiled with the day before it. But now they are on day three of these compounding bad days and you won't believe how bad it gets.
Cliffhanger.
The only good point is that I can now take a deep breath. Several.
Ready for book number four. So glad that I don't have to wait for it to be published.
Follow the stories of 3 people whose lives are intertwined in what looks like the end of America. Katie and her husband Zach are being framed for the destruction of California. Zach’s brother Ethan is shepherding his parents out of America but his world is spiraling out of control. Alaina finds herself thrust into the role of President of a rapidly imploding country. Can a mysterious man of God change her evil path? Grey never disappoints and always keeps you turning the page for more.
I stole this review but it fit so well that I couldn't have said it better myself "What a compelling, fast-paced, story of intrigue! With miracles and twists to keep the reader engaged. This author is a genius in her storytelling and suburb in weaving a tale that makes you want to read faster to find out what will happen next. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves mysteries and Christian reading. This book will not disappoint.
This whole series captivated me, it was slow in parts especially the driving in the first book but the overall story was so interesting I had to know what happened. I don't think I have ever read a book with a storyline like this one and that made it special on its own.
Some of the characters are "lame' especially the brother but you needed all the characters to bring the whole story together.
I really fell into the rhythm of this book. This is the eighth book I’ve read by this author and they’ve all been action-packed.
I find the characters in this series to be memorable and I find myself pulling for them. Great job developing likable and interesting characters. The characters are not too complex which is okay for the series.
Excellent book! Will immediately read the next book in the series.
Fires in California... New York hit with a Nuclear weapon... FBI chasing Zach and Katie down... Hope is getting low BUT GOD! With the explosion of a nuclear device an EMP in the center of the Country takes out the Grid and the power is down... BUT GOD! He works all things out for good for those who are “the called”... for those who Love Him! We all need to trust in The Lord today for tomorrow may bring untold trouble into our lives.
Book 2 is my favorite, so far, but honestly each one of the series is more and more fascinating. The detail is just perfect for the plots involving each character. End times prophecy stories are among my favorites. Enjoy book three and read on!! Now I'm just beginning book 4 (Oregon) Reviewed by Sue C. Weaver ( check out my Amazon books!) Jamie Lee Grey is a truly gifted writer.
Overall: Good read with a fast-paced storyline. I'm excited for the next four books of the series. Likes: Thought-provoking, End Times fiction, so suspenseful! It gives me a lot to think about in regards to potential routes the End Times in the U.S. may go. Dislikes: Some cheesy dialogue. Recommend? I would. Warning that it may cause distress for those who find End Times to be an anxiety-inducing topic
While the title indicates a large scope, the overwhelming bulk of the book is individually focused. It made if feel very slow to me, like nothing happened (though what did happen tended to be a bit melodramatic), because I am here for an apocalypse, not people in a hospital waiting room.
Sometime I feel the payment methods for KU book make authors drag things out too much...
Reading books like this convinces me we need to learn all the things our ancestors knew about growing their own food. Loving without having to buy anything. This book was suspenseful and hard to put down. Luckily, it was also a very quick read, but already kind of out of date because it was written before a couple of major historical things happened.
Christian books written in a crazy time where other countries are trying to take the US down. Great characters and following these 3 sets of characters in different places and how it affects then in their situation.
One of the best authors. I’ve enjoyed reading her Daughter of Babylon. They catch me up onto the lives and situations as if they were happening right then.
Quick paced story that grabs you and carries you right through, leaving you wanting more. The third in a series and we're only 3 days into their week, what else could be in store for the MC's? I don't know but I'm going along for the ride!
All the stories told together in different parts. Alana being president there was lots on her plate. Poor Katie and Zac but trusting in God on a world falling apart
I have loved this series. The way Jamie has three storylines going on is so easy to follow. I appreciate so much the way prayer and faith is a main theme in this hard story about dark days for our country. Thank you Jamie! Well done! On to the next!
I am addicted to the stories this author writes. I plan on reading all the books in this series. I have some of her other books also and found them fascinating
This is a very good story and it will make a person think about survival when there is no way to use credit and phones etc also this is a continuation story
