Ace Cross is not your typical NEET, although he has all the making of one and is recluse, he is still a very outdoor type of person. One day he is killed (by a truck no less even after dodging off the road) his soul was going to white light in the sky (the sun) but before he could arrive a magical circle appears and he is pulled in and given a second chance at life in a magical world under the most cliche trope of anime, as a summoned hero.
He isn't 'the' hero though, he got the most uncommon hero class and something that has been extinct in all the nations blocking the advance of the demon lord. That is the Dungeon Maker. As a very unusual class that makes not only death traps but proper dungeons with ecosystems, this is the life of humanities first dungeon maker in 1,000 years since the demon lord war began. This is not just a story of battling the demon lord but also of how our heroes making a new life force themselves as all of them died in their original worlds.
And this is why I hate reading his books. THEY ALWAYS LEAVE ME WANTING MOAR! It's stuff like this that I love. You know, a main character that isn't 100% stupid and is about as deep as a puddle in the desert. Nope. Ace is asking all the right questions from day 1. He is a person with a big heart but doesn't know how to show it. He is also a realist. If anything he reminds me more of the MC from How a realist rebuilt a kingdom. It's none of that fluffy woe is me (looking at you RE:Zero) main character that does nothing but complain from page to page. This dude to stock of what's going on and is making moves to secure himself to NOT get a sword in the back. The King is an idiot and the Queen is ruthlessly awesome (in a good way.) All the side characters can pretty much stand on their own and as with Nathan's books. I'm not saying that any of them are deep, but there's enough to them that you actually either feel bad (when he hit's the feels button), or straight up dislike (c'mon, you know there has to be that ONE dude). With that said, this book has the right balance without going overboard. I WILL be looking forward to the next book.
This seems like a promising start to a promising series,The author did a fair job with building the characters and the stories world there were a couple of parts Where I had to reread But with a little bit of editing it should be a simple matter to fix. I look forward to book two
Interesting concept to start with but it quickly devolved into a rapid fire mishmash of events. The point of view frequently flips without even a note of who its flipping to. The characters are super op and never in any actual peril, and make decisions with out time or reason
Decent LITRPG. Enjoyed reading it but lots of grammar errors. Wrong tenses, hold, held kind of things. Needs an editor. Some of the sentences were pretty rough and didn't flow smoothly. I liked the story line and MC for the most part. Enjoyed the story but there were too many jarring errors of grammar and the flow wasn't there to keep me immersed, kept getting thrown out of the story. Would recommend for K.U. for Cash overpriced Range 99C to 1.99 range due to editing/grammar/flow problems.
Would really like to see the Author keep up the work and practice and maybe work with another author to see where parts of the story came up short.
If you told me this book was ready even once before being published here I would be skeptical but even the best editing in the world wouldn’t save this from being one of the worst books I’ve ever read. Nothing is innovative and the author seems to derive a sick pleasure from making the MC point out how derivative and cliche the entire book is. This combined with a gross focus on an underage Japanese character is why I wouldn’t recommend anyone read this.
Building a dungeon. First, be a dungeon. Nope not this time. Dungeon maker is a different take on the type. It's a RARE class. Sadly the mc had his own issues in how to level and learning about his class. Great book, looking forward for the next book.
Pro: Easy read, entertaining. Kept me hooked to the last page. Not over twisted on his bad fights every turn.
Con: MC ain't no Superman. But had own code more like Wolverine... Wait that's not a con. Still looking for book 2
A very good beginning of a series. The book itself is a bit bland in the narrative and needs more editing, usually signs of a new author, but has tremendous potential for growth. The dungeon concepts are quit different and their use together with the MC make for a very interesting new view. The story is also pretty good and the characters have quite a bit of potential to become a funny and interesting group. I can't wait for the next book!
I wasn't sure about this one as it started off, mainly as the MC came across as an arsehole. He developed out of that pretty quickly, and the mechanics of the magic system in this one were interesting. Didn't get too bogged down with the dungeon building, and although I found his samurai sidekick-chick to be unevenly written, she was supposed to be unstable so I guess that's fair enough. Overall, better than I expected.
Mistakes: The writing is choppy and stilted. Like English isn’t the author’s first language. Makes finding errors more difficult. Plot: Hit by truck, transported to another world to fight daemons. Characters: Totally overpowered from the very beginning. Nothing to draw me to him. 5/10 for the effort, but get a native English speaker to edit. Will vastly improve the story.
This was a good little dungeoncore story with a fun twist or three. The writing is quite similar to the author’s other books and the editing isn’t perfect. The story itself is fun and it’s neat to see how the building goes. Take a look and enjoy this little romp.
The story characters and system are all well built and thought out, and if you follow anime you will see a lot of where the author has gained inspiration.
The only down side to the book like many of the books from this author is a serious lack of editing breaking the flow of the story. If the book was properly edited then it would be a solid 5*.
Many errors in punctuation found. Many grammar errors also. Would rate at four stars if simple errors are fixed.
This book feels like a mix of Rising Of Shield Hero anime and a generic dungeon lord book. Because plot isn't anything amazing, can't give give stars after successful edit.
It was a very good read, interesting story, interesting characters, sometimes a little bit anime cliche or trapped in another world story cliche but altogether it does kind of go well together and the dungeon aspect does add new directions for a storyline which I enjoyed as well. I will look forward to the next book
Like this book and how it's written and the spin on dungeons and how M/C makes them this this is a really good book and I can't wait for the second one to come out keep up the good work
This was a book done in the isekai style with portals to other worlds. It featured a unique hero class that could spam portable dungeons. It wasn’t half bad. I would read the next one.
Really enjoyed reading this take on dungeon creation. Look forward to reading the next book and recommend others who enjoy the dungeon/summoning genre to give this a shot.
Definitely a different and fun take on the dungeon genre. Looking forward to more books in the series. Also, while still some ways to go, the editing has improved compared to the authors prior books.
Fast paced page turner with interesting characters that you can instantly root for. I definitely want to read more adventures of Ace. But the Author really needs to finish up he older series before starting new ones
I would like to say I do not write many reviews but I want to see the next book in this series. So the rest of you who enjoy RPG lit download and read this it's really a good read.
Another great book from this author, the unique way he approached a dungeon master story and how the system would work was intriguing and I can't wait for what's next.
