A dazzling debut
Somnas is a thrilling read and a dazzling debut from a promising young author. Ament’s vivid prose grabs the heartstrings and doesn’t let go through a whirlwind of tragedy, loss, and love that immediately bonds the reader to the characters. He quickly draws readers into an imaginatively constructed world- a world that extends beyond the borders of the story and lays a strong foundation for the rest of the series. I’m looking forward to seeing more from this author soon.

Compré esté libro sin saber de qué trataba y nunca había oído de él. Fue de esos libros que algo tienen que sin más lo quieres tener.
Y me alegra haberlo hecho. Es una novela pequeña pero desde las primeras páginas te atrapa, realmente sufres con Marya y toda su familia, quieres hacer que pare su sufrimiento. Me hubiera gustado ver más el sistema de magia aunque lo que sacan lo explican bien.
Me sorprendió que la pluma del autor fluyera de tal manera que te da toda la información que necesitas y desarrolle tan bien la novela en pocas páginas.
Leeré la siguiente entrega.

This book was thrilling and made me want to keep reading until I had finished. The connections that were made with the characters made it more heartbreaking to see one die and thrilling to see them live. Can't wait for more from this author

The world building and the details of the characters and the storyline had such depth and intensity. It was a perfect mix of family and personal struggle in a fantasy world full of pain, sadness, hope, and victory!
10/10 recommend to anyone who loves a good fantasy fiction.

The way the plot relied on the inventive folklore and religion was unique yet believable. I am curious about the future of this family and what else will be revealed about this created world.

Captivating storyline! Relatable characters! Fast-paced plot! I couldn’t stop reading. I am so impressed with Ament’s book, and I can’t wait to read the next, and the next, and the next. His complex culture and world is fascinating. I have so many questions. I need more!
